Lookout Landing Since it looks like we have Bedard

Do you think if Batista sucks it up during Spring Training, and Morrow rocks it, they will switch them? Put Batista in the pen and make Morrow the 5th starter? To me that could be a good idea. Or it could happen later in the year.

Then Ho Ram can just....go away.

And a hundred percent reason to remember the name!

Lookout Landing Interesting trades/signing ideas, but unlikely

It seems like the M's are the frontrunner for Erik Bedard. So if we trade Adam Jones, George Sherrill, and someone else. Then we sign Fukodome (i dunno if thats spelled right) and he plays right field. (But it looks more like he will go to the padres or cubs.) How does that sound? I'm semi interested in it, because I believe Fukodome would be pretty good in our lineup. But I don't wanna lose AJ because he is 21 or 22. So he can still become really good.

We could also deal Ibanez to the Cubs....for some sort of pitching. Maybe the often injured Mark Prior.

Lookout Landing Instant Replay.

I was curious to what the people of the LL community thought about instant replay. I believe it could be used on questionable home runs. But questionable home runs happen what like 1 out of every 200 home runs. It should NOT be used for fair and foul and diving catches, because that ruins the flow of the game.

I'm torn between yes and no. I'm leaning more towards no because human error is just part of the game. And the umps don't seem to miss the call that often.

Lookout Landing Sports Illustrated Winter Preview: AL west

On the SI website they have what teams should do in the offseason.

http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2007/baseball/mlb/10/29/bp.alwest/index.html

That is the AL West. They think the Angels will go after Barry Bonds and A-Rod. I can see A-Rod....i can't see Bonds.

Do you guys agree with them what they think the M's should and will do?

Lookout Landing Question for Jeff

Do you do threads for all the postseason games where we all can comment on what is going on during the games? Well you don't have to post the lineups but like who vs. who and we can comment on em and stuff. And reflect on the year that has passed. Or you like "Fuck that i'm done with this for another off season".

Just wondering.

Lookout Landing Mac is already on the right track....

"I am an old-school guy and would like to see our [starting] pitchers go 120 to 125 pitches," manager John McLaren said. "Among other things, that would save our bullpen."

Hmmm...Washburn DIES at around 84 pitches, and barely anyone throws that much. Well you would be saving the bullpen...but killing the starters. I hope that is just a joke.

Lookout Landing Ichiro hates....

"I hate being touched by other people so rather than being touched I'd rather run away from them," Suzuki said.

Haha, that explains never being in the mob around home plate. And running away from the tag. What is he going to do if this team does make it to the playoffs? Run away from the mob?

It reminds me of the Peter Griffen version of "Can't Touch This" by MC Hammer, "Can't Touch Me".

Lookout Landing McLaren on HO/pick to click for tonight

"He seems fine," manager John McLaren said. "I watch the guy's body language and he seems good. He's not hanging his head. He needs to go out and feel good about himself, get some quality innings in."

...wtf... Oh i gotta make this 300 characters. Go M's!

My pick to click tonight is....Ichiro he will get on base and cause some trouble along the base paths.

Lookout Landing Jose Guillen is....

A little bitch. He talks crap about Adam Jones saying that this wasn't the minors. And the next two games he goes 0-8 with 6 Ks and makes an error that let some runs score. And he left the bases loaded. Adam played hard his first game. Guillen has played like SHIT. And you can't talk smack if you suck it that bad. True only two games. But that doesn't stop him from being a little bitch.

Lookout Landing 2nd half of the season

Hopefully we have Ichiro locked up but now that is not what i'm most concerned about. I'm concerned on how the second half is gonna go. The M's have a real chance to go some place this October and while they have played good, they have not played well enough to go to the postseason.

The Mariners are one of the worst defensive teams. Raul and Jose G. rank near the bottom of Left and Right Fielders. So you bring up "Pacman" (Adam Jones) (I live in Nashville) put him in right and move Guillen to left and Ibanez DH. You can not take their RBI production out of the lineup and you just hope that "Pacman" can atleast do Jose Vidro type numbers. Which he should easily do.

With Vidro out of the lineup that leaves a hole in the Number two spot of the order. While Jose Lopez has been really good there, don't deny it, he is REALLY REALLY streaky. He is swinging a tree and gets 2 or 3 hits a game or he is swinging a piece of paper. Yuni is not a number 2 hitter, and Beltre really isn't either. Johjima might be, but i like his bat down in the order. The number 2 guy needs to be good with the bat to give Ichiro protection and the hit an run chance. Lopez while he doesn't strike out alot. He along with the rest of the team love the short little pop ups to foul territory.

Then everyone knows the neeed of atleast ONE more quality pitcher to get us to 6 or 7th inning. I won't go into that.

Lookout Landing Money well spent!

Ok, anyone notice it almost always seems like Richie hits a home run with NO ONE ON BASE his last 7 home runs have been solo shots. I'm glad he is starting to somewhat hit, but how about some clutch hits too? A three-run or a two-run homer would be excellent. Or not even a homer, a base hit with someone in scoring position. Same with Adrian he has 1 RBI in the month of June. TRUE he was hurt and missed some games....but ONE F***ING RBI?

Don't get me started on OBP and walks and total of home runs.
