5 Questions about the Blue Jays
Hardball Time's Chris Lund poses 5 questions about the Blue Jays and provides his take on the answers.
Review the Jays TV broadcasters
Here's your chance to rate Buck and Pat and make comments about how Buck mangles names and gets excited on fly balls and how Pat likes them "big and strong".
Shortstop prospect smackdown
Sickels compares and contrasts Hech, Beckham, and Iglesias.
2011 Blue Jay draft picks
Edit: I've opened a second post here because this one is locked for comments.
TtD did a great job last year of tracking the 2010 picks. I thought I would put up a similar post to do the same thing.
If you have news of a signing, add it as a comment with a link. I'll update this fanpost accordingly.

The Jays bullpen and meltdowns revisited
I had a look at the Jays bullpen and how they stacked up against other teams in an earlier post. Let's see how things stand now.

Perhaps a bti nitpicking, but some of the errors are poor
Player reviews in clerihews

The Jays bullpen and meltdowns
After the horrible collapse by the bullpen last night, there was understandably a lot of anguish about how bad the Jays bullpen looks. The meltdown in the 9th hides the fact that the bullpen did a good job in the previous two innings. I do think the team suffers from not having a reliable arm to close a game, but as a collective, they seem to have reasonably well if you look at shutdowns vs meltdowns (data from Fangraphs).

Behind the scenes: Blue Jays draft war room
Part 2 is here: http://mlb.mlb.com/video/play.jsp?content_id=15727889
Purcey moved
Having worn out his welcome with the Jays, and now the A's, Purcey has been dealt to the Tigers
Mock Draft: Jays thread
John Sickels is doing a mock draft on June 4th. The draft director for the Jays has created a thread to capture input. Go and help him or her out if you have an opinion
Which Jays pitcher will end up on the DL in 2011?
We've been having a lot of fun projecting the stats of the starting pitchers but I feel the need to point to the elephant in the room: injuries. Last year, I think we only had one pitcher go on the DL (Marcum, unless you want to count Litsch as well) and that was only for the minimum time. In other words, the Jays were lucky, or were they?
Article on pitcher release points
Four current (for now) Blue Jay pitchers are looked at in this article. Who would you guess amongst Morrow, Marcum, Romero, and Gregg has the most consistent release point and who has the least consistent?

Imagine if he had been healthy....
We all know that athletes sometimes hide injuries. Often the outside fan can figure out that a given player is playing through an injury by a dip in how they play. I don't think anyone outside of the Jays clubhouse had slightest clue that this Jays player had an injury since May.
Have fun guessing who it is before you click the link.

2010 Scouting Report - By the Fans, For the Fans - Blue Jays
J-Mac is second best on the team and Wise is 5th. It's obviously not measuring actual baseball ability so I'm not really convinced of the reports value.
FWIW, Jays fans have provided the most reports so far.
Dana Eveland trade looks even more lopsided
So, basically, the Bucs got nothing as they DFAed Dana Eveland, although he'll probably pass through waivers and end up on their AAA team. The Jays got Ron Uviedo, a AA prospect who might be a replacement starter or bullpen arm in a year or two. (I highly doubt he could crack the starting rotation given the number of good young arms the Jays have.)
Shutdowns and Meltdowns
Interesting to see two Jays in the tables, and not in a good way.
However, I think one is there because of overwork and the other I hope has found a new level of performance and is able to ignore the past.
Opener limerick
There's sun with a bit of a breeze and it's April and 14 degrees. So the opener is nearing And the crowd will be cheering "Hey Cito, free Randy Ruiz."
