Isaiah wants to play Kentucky—do you agree?
So this morning, in the aftermath of the Jones-to-Kentucky announcement, Isaiah Thomas had an interesting series of tweets. All sic'd, of course.
I hope we play KENTUCKY nxt yr n the Maui classic. All I gotta say is ITS BOUT TO GO DOWN (@KevinHart4real voice) A BARK over a meow ne day
At this point, Thomas's tweet gets retweeted by some Kentucky media sources and tons of negative messages start getting sent to Isaiah. No point in reposting them here, but they pretty much run the gamut from simple trash talk about UW's chances in such a game to attacking Isaiah's character to claiming that everyone at Kentucky will play in the NBA while Isaiah will be a no one after he leaves UW. There are a few positive messages from Kentucky fans, but they're few and far between. Then Isaiah posts a few responses.
Ha Im not mad. There no reason I should be mad. I respect Tjones n the wildcats. I jus want 2 play them so please people who hatin fall back

Good Sign or Bad Omen? THN picks the Caps
There's a lot of love for the Capitals in the latest issue of The Hockey News. It's their playoff preview issue, and the editorial staff picks Washington as their Stanley Cup prediction. A poll was also taken of players around the league—they picked the Caps as well. I thought there might be some interest in reading what THN has to say about our team and a few others, even if most of it is stuff we already know.

One hockey fan's argument against (???) NHL participation in future Olympics
The past two weeks have been fantastic for hockey fans. Putting aside any disappointing results, we were treated to six consecutive days of triple headers (one day including the six best teams in the world all playing in Gold Medal game rematches from the past three Olympics), two straight quadruple headers (of elimination games, no less), and then a medal round of three phenomenal games and a U.S. blowout that was no doubt fun for many of us to watch. That said, there's been an elephant on the rink the entire time—the question as to whether or not NHL players would play in the Sochi Olympics and beyond. Though Commissioner Bettman and the owners generally rationalize their wariness of renewing NHL participation through financial arguments, I'm here to lay out what I hope is a compelling line of reasoning against going to Sochi on purely hockey terms. If you're willing to hear me out, read on…
Your Olympic men's post-preliminary playoff scenarios!
With only one game remaining for each team, the scenarios for what each team needs to have happen for a first round bye are as clear as they'll be. I thought it'd be fun (in a nerdy way) to break down which teams would get a top four seed depending on how the remaining games go down.

"We have a fantastic system," Laich said.
[Laich and Shaone Morrisonn] have roomed together since being acquire in '04 trades three weeks apart.
"Mo's in charge of the room service and the alarm clocks," Laich said. "I'm in charge of the temperature and humidity in the room, and the blinds."
Both prefer the room as dark as possible and like to nap at the same time.
"He can deal with my snoring and I can deal with his talking in his sleep sometimes," Morrisonn said.

Caps' "Trade Deadline Playbook"
TSN takes a look at what players may be moved as part of a potential trade for the Caps—and the rest of the Eastern Conference. Anyone missing?
An observation regarding Canada and international hockey
Current IIHF world champions: RussiaCurrent IIHF world U20 champions: United StatesCurrent IIHF world U18 champions: United StatesCurrent IIHF world women's champions: United StatesCurrent IIHF world women's U18 champions: United StatesCurrent IIHF world InLine champions: SwedenCurrent Olympic men's champions: SwedenCurrent Olympic women's champions: Canada. In a nutshell, there's only one IIHF-run world tournament that Canada are the current champions of. And, should Canada fail to win gold in the women's tournament this year, there would be a period of four days where Canada would not be the holders of any of these tournaments for at least four days, even if they win gold in the men's tournament. Pretty crazy, eh?
The "A"
Sorry that there's no Chris Bourque angle to this, but the roster on the official site lists three alternate captains — Mike Knuble, Tom Poti, and Alex Ovechkin. Since only two players can wear the A at once (unless there's no designated captain), do we have any idea how a rotation would be executed? I feel like this would've been addressed by now — am I missing something obvious?
It's nice that tomorrow we can have actual games to occupy our time rather than all this...
