More Stadium News! Support Dick Day and racino gambling!
This looks like yet another great idea and a positive step towards our drive for the new stadium. I don't see any reason not to support Dick Day in this endeavor. He isn't going into it for the Vikings, but he states that the money from non-profit racino gambling could definitely be used towards the new stadium! GO VIKES!
It's exciting to finally see more and more ideas start to pop up as we are beginning to realize the need. Feel the urgency folks!

Lou Gehrig's Disease Philanthropy
Hey everyone
I just wanted to make a quick announcement about a Philanthropy event my fraternity is putting on for ALS (Lou Gehrig's disease) in the heartland. There are many people who still suffer from the affects of this disease. Recently, many of us were only just made aware of Orlando Thomas (our favorite hard-hitting safety during the exciting 1998 season) and his current experience with ALS. If you're interested in learning more about the disease, here is the wikipedia link: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Amyotrophic_lateral_sclerosis
I don't know about you, but his sufferings have sure helped further open my eyes to the seriousness of this terrible condition.
Phi Delta Theta at Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska will be putting on a concert tomorrow night featuring the band Heyday and all proceeds are given to ALS in the Heartland. If you are able, we would sure appreciate any donations for the cause and you can be assured they will go to the right place.
If you would like to donate, you can make checks payable to Phi Delta Theta and send them to this address:

2500 California Street
Omaha, NE 68178
Thank you! GO VIKES!

Percy not at camp....yet.
yep, our exciting and flashy rookie is not yet at camp due to the Vikings inability to hammer out a contract. I'm listening to KFAN right now and PA just had Rick Spielman on from Vikings Training Camp in Mankato. Spielman said that it's being worked on right now. Unfortunately, it is really best to have rookies there on day one of camp, but I think the chances are probably good that we will have it figured out to get him there tomorrow.
Here's to hoping this doesn't turn into a bigger thing than it already is!

Percy is sick again...
Hopefully it's not a big deal but I'm a little concerned since these random bouts of illness would be disappointing if they show up in the fall.
75 words.... I hope the that the rumor that the Vikes will announce Favre's contract this weekend will indeed be true. I'm growing antsy. Also, has anyone else notice how ESPN is staying away from the Favre topic ever since Werder messed up?

Interesting side note to Winfield article...
In Seifert's article about Winfield missing the minicamp, he brings up a list of others not at the camp. Among them is our new d-back Asher Allen. I thought this was a little strange because as a rookie, it seems like you would want to be at all of this stuff, mandatory and otherwise.
For all I know there may be a perfectly good explanation for his absence but, being excited about this guy's potential, I'm slightly concerned. Anyone know what is up or have any guesses? Seifert didn't comment any further.

Not so fast, Charlie Walters....
Here's Ed Werder's story: http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=4176703
Ed Werder seems to kind of disagree with the St. Paul Pioneer Press writer as to whether Favre actually has an appointment for surgery. Personally, I do not know who to believe at this point but I thought I'd put this up there for you all to see. This story does, however, reaffirm my preference of The Trib over the Pioneer Press.

Trent Dilfer on Brett coming back...
I don't know if anyone else saw this on NFL Live today but Trent Dilfer addressed the rumors of Favre coming back to play for the Vikes. Apparently he was texting Favre earlier today and asked him if there was any truth to the rumor of him coming back. Favre gave him a "resounding no".
I don't know about you all but this helps put the issue to rest a little bit for me. It was the first time I think I've ever enjoyed listening to Dilfer.

Ok, I know we've exhausted the QB topic, but...
As I'm sitting here watching this BCS National Championship game, I'm marveling at Tim Tebow. Now, I know that he is not the ideal NFL quarterback. He is often criticized for his mechanics, throwing motion, etc. But really, this kid is one of the more passionate and hardworking athletes out there.
If he falls in the draft, which I think he might, we could have a shot at him. He'd be happy to come here and have a chance to play QB at the pro level, something not everyone would be willing to give him. It just seems that with a guy as hard-working as Tebow, the chance might be worth taking. He would also be an asset because of the leadership he would bring to our offense.
What do you all think?
