Bless You Boys Just saw Yahoo talking about Beltre...

I know we just got Magglio back in the fold (I'm happy just like you), but I still feel like we've got a hole or two that could be filled.  And then I saw an opinion on Yahoo (yes, I know, an opinion, not solid rumor or anything) about the possibility of Adrian Beltre to the Tigers.
I know it probably won’t happen, but I like it. I was slotting out the lineup, and I hate the 2 spot with Guillen/Sizemore/Rhymes…but if you get Beltre somehow, I see…

1. Jackson CF
2. Martinez DH
3. Ordonez RF
4. Cabrera 1B
5. Beltre 3B
6. Peralta SS
7. Boesch LF
8. Avila C
9. Inge 2B

I know Martinez has always been a middle of the order guy, but I like his contact numbers in the 2, plus being a switch….wow.

(P.S. Whenever I think about slotting the 2, I miss Placido, the quintessential no. 2 hitter)

What do you guys think?

I know you could put Beltre at LF too, but I feel this improves the defense more...Inge has been a good defender at many positions, and was an SS coming up...especially when you're relying on a guy like Porcello, who needs infield D.

Maybe...even take a shot on Brandon Webb then too, to be your 5th starter?

1. Verlander

2. Porcello

3. Scherzer

4. Webb

5. Galarraga (?)

Which leaves you Coke, Thomas (probably), Perry, Schlereth, Benoit, Valverde, and maybe Zumaya in the pen. And Oliver and Turner get time to develop in the minors if you need them.

Only trick there is a lack of long relief, but I like the amount of one-inning power guys you can toss out there.

Solves a lot of problems.

Maybe it's a shot in the dark, but it's fun to think about.
