Aaron Crow?
anybody think there's a chance he'll slide to us in the 2009 draft? it's waytoo early on , but his stock has only dropped and he's added a year of maturity which hopefully means he'd reach the big leagues quicker... How sweet would that be? does anybody know if we have a shot at being inside the top 15 picks? So we could sign Sheets and be able to keep the first rounder...
2011 rotation - Sheets / Feliz / Holland / Main / Crow (not in any particular order)
... and a bullpen filled with studs
or if we sign Sheets and we lose the pick... which route do you take? for the sake of argument let's say the pick will be Crow... Do you sign Sheets?
Either Sheets is Crow's best case scenario or in 4-5 years Sheets will be entering his mid 30's or be off the team all together while Crow and the rest of our rotation will be entering their prime, etc..
Vincente Padilla
Should we trade him while he's hot and value is at it's high, or keep him? A pitcher of his caliber for the price we have him at is a steal considering the market today.....I know we're rebuilding, but when we start to turn it around in a couple of years, Padilla could be a hell of a #3 and by then his contract will probably be looking even better........
But if Padilla makes the all star team this year, would we be better off trading for a package of prospects? I guess it depends on the prospects, but a few prospects or a veteran all star pitcher? On a team that doesn't have an ace and besides him and Millwood don't have any reliable starters.....Also it depends on if you think Padilla is going to keep this up or if he's going to have another '07.....
It's not like Tex because Padilla is under contract for a couple more years(option) and SP's are a position of need, and a lot of other reasons....So we don't need to dump him, but if you were JD what would you do and if you want to trade him.....who would you trade him for? what package of prospects are we looking at?
David Pollack Retires?
anybody catch this? I completely missed it, i caught the injury a couple of years ago but didn't expect this...i remember him at Georgia and then of course in the draft...Really really depressing to see the guy retire and it sucks for Bengal Fans eccspecailly with the loss of Smith

Armando Galaragga....
is doing great, he's 2-0 and today he went 6 innings 0 ER and 4-5 K's
what a bad move, we could've really used him right now....of course this had to happen....and Volquez will win the NL Cy Young, even if he does I'd still do that trade though, just too bad we couldn't of traded someone else, In retrospect i might've even rather traded Hurley considering how well Volquez is doing and he has a higher ceiling
Gerald Green
i think we should take a look at him, he does have potential and it wouldn't be a risk.....hopefully with this ballclub he could flourish eccspecially playing with Kidd and Avery on his ass about fundamentals....
don't think he's going to be a big contributer or anything, but he has potential and would be a good 15th man at the very least.....and he can develop into our "finisher" off the bench
Mavs Moves of the future
it looks like Magloire is the Mavs 1st priority and I don't see how we let him get away........now it looks like Cassel and Antoine Walker are going to get bought out.......Cassel might not be bad to back up Kidd....but Cuban has said he wants to add TWO big men to fill out the 15 man roster....so if we want to add Cassel or another scorer, i say we waive Juwan Howard...
best case scenario, we sign Magloire and PJ Brown, then Waive Juwan Howard and sign Sam Cassel....then if another SG/SF comes along that can really help us waive Jones and sign him......or just sign him instead of Cassel...
and who do you think could do a better job against Duncan, Magloire or Diop? and if we get PJ Brown Forget about it......Kidd, Magloire, Brown, Allen, Wright > Harris, Diop, Hassel.....um, easily.......i think we're the team to beat if we get both Magloire and Brown, not to mention if we drop Juwan for Cassel or another scorer
Colby Rasmus
He's probably untouchable, but just messing around with the idea......I think Eckstein is a FA(not sure if they resigned him).....
would Michael Young, etc. for Rasmus work??
not sure who we'd have to package.......
and just messing around, got bored and started toying around with some ideas......just not sure How much value Young holds, and if we were to trade with St Louis, they'll probably demand we take on Rolen eccspecially if we trade them Young........
Just post how much value you think Young Holds and what we could get for him......and What it would take to get Rasmus
Sean Taylor Passes Away!!!!
Don't know what else to say........this kid had ALL the potential in the World........Really Really Sad..........

Lakers and Pistons agree to Kobe trade!!!!
http://www.realgm.com/src_wiretap_archives/49207/20071115/lakers_and_pistons_agreed_to_kobe_trade/
But Kobe VETOES IT!!!!!!
hopefully this means he wants to come to Dallas........and it was Tayshaun Prince, Rip Hamilton, Amir Johnson and a 1st rounder.......
IMO That's the equivalent to Josh Howard, Jason Terry, Nick Fazekas and a 1st(maybe more, not sure about Amir)......hell if he vetoes some more and makes it clear he just wants Dallas we could prolly give less away than that.....
Stanback??
I might be missing something, but why aren't we playing him? why are we keeping him inactive? we need his return skills and we could use him as a WR........I'd want to see what the kid can do in the slot.....Crayton's finger is costing us.....a TO and a missed TD which resulted in another TO, I'd like to see Hurd(More Catches) and Stanback get an oppurtunity.....I think I'm missing something, don't understand with all the ranting and raving about this kid from the organization why they wont play him, when we need a WR and Return help.....
Carlos Pena
sorry if this isnt Diary worthy......but
came across this....
"The Yankees have an eye on big-name 1Bs like Mark Teixeira and Todd Helton. But more realistically, they're looking at Tampa Bay's Carlos Pena. He's got the defense, so even if he regresses to a 20 HR bat it's a nice pickup. Healey's source believes Tyler Clippard is too much but the Rays like Sean Henn. The Yanks have also inquired about the versatile Ty Wigginton."
it's from MLB Trade Rumors, right before the deadline......and i know the credibility of the site, just wondering if that's really what it would take to get Pena.....who would be our Sean Henn??
and i know it's been brought up a million times, but who thinks trading for Crawford is a good idea? he's available.....what would it take to get him?? post what package you think it would take to get either or both of them......
I think Pena would be a pretty good fit, clean up hitter with really good defense and we'd control him til '09(when Davis, Mayberry come up)......and everybody knows about Crawford, he's under contract til '10.......and both would be pretty cheap.....we could sell high on some of our players, if we do decide to make a trade.......just not sure what all it would take....post what you think
Blalock to Phillies
http://www.philly.com/inquirer/sports/20070902_PHILLIE_PHODDER.html
not a rumor, but a possibility......and I want to say, I in NO way want to trade Hank.......But Please, post the package you think the Phillies would have to give to the Rangers, for Blalock.......maybe package Blalock+Laird and then create a proposal(their C cant hit lefties).........
Some people might seriously consider trading him, because he has 1 more year and then he's a FA with Boras.......and people either like Metcalf or Davis......and I dont wanna start a war one whether to keep Blalock, would rather just see everybody post the package it would take for them to part with him
AB's for David Murphy????
sorry if this was posted 2 weeks ago or somethin....
but does anybody think this might be a GMJ? this kid had potential to be like a .330 hitter, at Baylor he hit .415 with almost a .500 OBP and in A ball he hit .350 with a .450 OBP, was in only 20+ games as a 3 year college guy, but still...
I just wouldnt be quick to dismiss the kid, he could hit .300-.330 with 20 HR 75+ Rbi 10-20 SB with good defense(i think) or thats his potential still....more than likely his ceiling
with our BallPark and Rudy, I think he might be able to turn this thing around, a big if, but I'd give the guy his AB's this year to see what he can do, and I'd like to see his glove in CF, move Byrd to LF and Cat to 1B, maybe Laird or Wilkerson can play 1B against Lefties
Just a thought, hell we saw Rudy turn around GMJ and Derosa last year, this kid might not be a longshot......Imagine if Gabbard and Murphy develop and we still have Beltre tearing through the system.
Francisco Liriano
he still injured? any chance they wanna trade him?.......remember when the rumor was Soriano for Liriano, another prospect.........damn that sucks...................................
......................................
....................................
...................................but the Twins werent willing to give him up in the end i dont think
Mauro Gomez?
what the potential on this guy, his BB/K rate is hideous, but it looks like he's either starting to blossom as a prospect or peak if he doesnt have a high ceiling.....dont know much about him, just wondering............................

QUESTIONS
is there any remote chance Wilky figures out the AL? can Cat play firstbase?
what type of package will Laird, Wilky, Otsuka get us? Hopefully NL gm's realize theyre getting a good player in Wilky(THE NL) and the rest speaks for itself
idk who that'd get but maybe if we throw in Galaragga, maybe Loney? or Ethier? maybe both lol jk
in a perfect world, Brad would come back and be a really good outfielder for us, Cat would be a hitting machine again and play 1st and Laird would be a good backup for a young superstar.
lead off
who's gonnna lead off next year? eccspecially with Washington's coaching style.....Cat when he returns to his old self? I think Ian would do good, if he's the only guy who can run, he'd learn to draw more walks and etc................................................................................................. ....
.....................................................
..............................................................................................
This needs to stop now
Tex just tied the game up with another HR, what the hell? thats his first two months for us.........i still love the trade, just bitter when he pulls this shit lol good god................................................................................................. .................................................................................................... .................................................................................................... ............................................
Padilla at Closer
if he cant recover to being a usefull starter, give CJ his spot and try him at closing? boatload to pay him for closing but better than him tanking it every 5 days, we all know he has the stuff..........................
.......................................
........................................
why wouldnt we giving CJ some starts for the rest of the year, if he doesnt get the closer role he's earned?
about FA's
i know everybody's thoughts on the Zambrano, both sides....i know the mileage on the arm is scary, but is there gonna be a younger, better pitcher on the market or that we can possibly come by? I dont think we should go all out to win now, but with Millwood as a number 2, Padilla healthy and McCarthy in his 2nd season, damn good rotation to carry this team while we're building and for the future....we can work Hurley into the 5 spot or i'd hope Zambrano could help out Tejeda......a true ace and Millwood as our top guys, could turn the pitching around, and we'd still have money to spend on someone if we needed to....this might be the only chance to get an ace......if one of our guys develops into one, i dont think we'll whine about having two or three
if Botts doesnt work out and we get rid of Wilky, Dunn if he's not looking for too much might be a good option for cleanup, that's two relativly young guys that can add to the core of the team and not sell out our strategy for the future, plus i think our lineup and rotation could play out really nicely around these two FA's, I know these two guys weakness as much as the next guy, but we have a hole at the 4 spot and havent had an ace in forever, and FA's arent going to get cheaper, so we can't hold out of free agency forever.....I know peoples thoughts on Dunn, mine are the same, but he would solidify the clean-up spot and DH for a good while along with Zambrano and being an ace......we have the money now, and every year the FA's are gonna keep getting more expensive
PTBL
if the Rangers dont like Harrison's medical status, you think Reyes and Hanson are a couple of the other guys they could choose from?............................................................................................... .................................................................................................... .............................................................................................
Who's out there now?
and who exactly are we lookin to get for Gagne, Laird, and Benoit or whoever the hell else(not CJ)....we Gonna try and fill CF or 1B? or just get the best prospects we can
99 bottles of beer on the wall, 99 bottles of beer, take one down pass the *** around, 98 bottles of beer on the wall, 98 bottles of beer on the wall, 98 bottles of beer, take 1 down pass it around, 300 yet?
what ya think (FA's)
Michael Lewis, secure our return game and provide somewhat of a WR.....if we find a young guy who can challenge Lewis, we could then release him. wouldnt take that much of a contract
Lavar Arrington, a pure situational player, unless he earns anything above that.....no teams will take him, why not take a flyer if he'll sign for the minumim on a 1 year......low risk- high reward, and even if he plays good, he shouldnt start, just provide depth and play a lot of downs at different LB spot, fingers down and standing up
flyer on these two? we cant afford for our punt return game to suck, also our kick return but we have guys who can do that ok
our prospects
when are any of them gonna be ready? i know Teagarden is in A ball, but how far is he away? basically down the list of our top prospects and how far they're away? anybody? Hurley?
is anybody even worth a september call-up or anybody that has a bright future? .................................................................................................... .................................................................................................... ........................................
Ellis!!!!
i think, he doesnt think he'll be as good of a player before this injury or else he wouldnt be doin this, look at McNabb almost same situation, he has all the confidence in the world......i think Greg really doesnt think he can play anywhere near where he used to or he wouldnt be being a little bitch
Tex
why does everybody want to trade him? he's our only power hitter, and is about as good of a first basemen there is......if we need a top of the line starter that bad(of course we do), might as well pay Zambrano youd have to pay the guy we get in a trade eventually...prolly even more money if its down the road
i still wanna keep our core guys, since we're tanking this season next years draft and this years, plus the trades at the deadline will add more than enough prospects to the farm....
I still think we're a couple of hitters and a couple of pitchers away from bein a playoff team and next year Tejeda and McCarthy will have the experience to really breakout
o and does anybody think we have anything in Victor Diaz? he starting to live up to his potential?
next years draft
if we sign hunter or zambrano, do we have to give up our first, if its the #1 pick? im guessin so, just hopin not

Mason Crosby?
do yall think he was great because he was in Colorado? or is he a franchise kicker? and should we take him if he's there in the 6th?.......o and Darius Walker would be great I watched everyone of his games, with a Line he'd be really good. eccspecially as a change of pace back and he'd give us another good option as a return man.
o and anybody like Kenny Scott?.....................................................

Pray for this Draft, I am
Jamaal Anderson is falling down boards, a longshot but also very possible in Round 1 and Ross also could fall in round 2 depending on who teams fall in love with at the CB postion (a team might want Hughes or McCauley, etc in round 2)....Dwayne Jarrett might even fall in round 2
Round 1- Jamaal Anderson
Round 2- trade up...Bowe or Jarret...which ever falls to early round 2.....or just sit back and take Sidney Rice
Round 3- Josh Wilson(Great return man too)....or Hughes if either one or there
Round 4- Brian Leonard
Round 5- Marcus Thomas
Round 6- Justin Medlock
I knows that's predicting a lot of people to fall....ALOT, almost every pick lmao....but stil very possible....i know how somewhat farfetched it is....but it is my dream.....i think its pretty reasonable....I think i covered everything, including the return man......some people want another OLB, but i think Carpenter is gonna step up and be a stud and i think Ellis and Burnett are enough Insurance Policy and i think Ellis having fresh legs every 3rd down to rush to QB will be epic.....this team would be damn near complete, eccspecially if Hamlin is the guy he can be.....I can dream.......Don't trash this, I KNOW
Mariner Fans........
are complete jackasses......or maybe just the ones that run their websites........they're quite pathetic, seriously no logic concerning the game of baseball.....makes me really appreciate AJM and the good and logical discussion we get on this site........makes me feel sorry for their fans......seriously.....Complete jackass on both sites apparently.......................................................................................... .................................................................................................... .................................................................................................... .................................F***in PATHETIC........go learn the game and get the stick out of ur ass.....
