anybody think there's a chance he'll slide to us in the 2009 draft? it's waytoo early on , but his stock has only dropped and he's added a year of maturity which hopefully means he'd reach the big leagues quicker... How sweet would that be? does anybody know if we have a shot at being inside the top 15 picks? So we could sign Sheets and be able to keep the first rounder...

2011 rotation - Sheets / Feliz / Holland / Main / Crow (not in any particular order)

... and a bullpen filled with studs

or if we sign Sheets and we lose the pick... which route do you take? for the sake of argument let's say the pick will be Crow... Do you sign Sheets?

Either Sheets is Crow's best case scenario or in 4-5 years Sheets will be entering his mid 30's or be off the team all together while Crow and the rest of our rotation will be entering their prime, etc..

Vincente Padilla

Should we trade him while he's hot and value is at it's high, or keep him? A pitcher of his caliber for the price we have him at is a steal considering the market today.....I know we're rebuilding, but when we start to turn it around in a couple of years, Padilla could be a hell of a #3 and by then his contract will probably be looking even better........

But if Padilla makes the all star team this year, would we be better off trading for a package of prospects? I guess it depends on the prospects, but a few prospects or a veteran all star pitcher? On a team that doesn't have an ace and besides him and Millwood don't have any reliable starters.....Also it depends on if you think Padilla is going to keep this up or if he's going to have another '07.....

It's not like Tex because Padilla is under contract for a couple more years(option) and SP's are a position of need, and a lot of other reasons....So we don't need to dump him, but if you were JD what would you do and if you want to trade him.....who would you trade him for? what package of prospects are we looking at?

is doing great, he's 2-0 and today he went 6 innings 0 ER and 4-5 K's

what a bad move, we could've really used him right now....of course this had to happen....and Volquez will win the NL Cy Young, even if he does I'd still do that trade though, just too bad we couldn't of traded someone else, In retrospect i might've even rather traded Hurley considering how well Volquez is doing and he has a higher ceiling

i think we should take a look at him, he does have potential and it wouldn't be a risk.....hopefully with this ballclub he could flourish eccspecially playing with Kidd and Avery on his ass about fundamentals....

don't think he's going to be a big contributer or anything, but he has potential and would be a good 15th man at the very least.....and he can develop into our "finisher" off the bench

Mavs Moves of the future

it looks like Magloire is the Mavs 1st priority and I don't see how we let him get away........now it looks like Cassel and Antoine Walker are going to get bought out.......Cassel might not be bad to back up Kidd....but Cuban has said he wants to add TWO big men to fill out the 15 man roster....so if we want to add Cassel or another scorer, i say we waive Juwan Howard...

best case scenario, we sign Magloire and PJ Brown, then Waive Juwan Howard and sign Sam Cassel....then if another SG/SF comes along that can really help us waive Jones and sign him......or just sign him instead of Cassel...

and who do you think could do a better job against Duncan, Magloire or Diop? and if we get PJ Brown Forget about it......Kidd, Magloire, Brown, Allen, Wright > Harris, Diop, Hassel.....um, easily.......i think we're the team to beat if we get both Magloire and Brown, not to mention if we drop Juwan for Cassel or another scorer

He's probably untouchable, but just messing around with the idea......I think Eckstein is a FA(not sure if they resigned him).....

would Michael Young, etc. for Rasmus work??

not sure who we'd have to package.......

and just messing around, got bored and started toying around with some ideas......just not sure How much value Young holds, and if we were to trade with St Louis, they'll probably demand we take on Rolen eccspecially if we trade them Young........

Just post how much value you think Young Holds and what we could get for him......and What it would take to get Rasmus

I might be missing something, but why aren't we playing him? why are we keeping him inactive? we need his return skills and we could use him as a WR........I'd want to see what the kid can do in the slot.....Crayton's finger is costing us.....a TO and a missed TD which resulted in another TO, I'd like to see Hurd(More Catches) and Stanback get an oppurtunity.....I think I'm missing something, don't understand with all the ranting and raving about this kid from the organization why they wont play him, when we need a WR and Return help.....
