VIDEO: Webber and the 1993-94 Warriors. MUST SEE! Enjoy this fellow GSOM'ers!
As a tribute to his return to the Warriors, I've uploaded my first ever YouTube video of one of C-Webb's best games as a Warrior his rookie year. The video is from the final minutes of a home game against the Magic in March of 1994, and it's a clip that has it all: Mullin's quick hands, Avery's clutch j's, Gregg Popovich filling in as coach following Nellie's ejection, Shaq's sideburns (???), Penny, Billy Owens, Roaracle Arena on full blast, and an ending that gave me goosebumps and brought tears to my eyes (still does!). It's 10 minutes long. But try not to skip to the end! It'll be worth the wait! Enjoy! Here's the link:
"NELLIE! NELLIE! NELLIE!"
When was the last time you heard a home crowd start a chant for the coach? It doesn't really happen. LET'S CHANGE THAT! I propose that some time during the last regular season game against the Mavs on Tuesday, fans start a spontaneous chant of "NELLIE! NELLIE! NELLIE!." (Perhaps right after the chants of "PLAYOFFS! PLAYOFFS! PLAYOFFS!) The players get all of our love during the game, and deservedly so. However, I for one am so grateful to Don Nelson for all he's done so far for the Warriors and for the Bay Area. I THINK WE NEED TO SHOW NELLIE SOME BAY AREA LOVE! He needs to know and feel how much he is appreciated!!! I would like to lead the cheers, but I can't make the game and while I'll be screaming my head off, I don't think you'd hear me from my television 100 miles away from the Arena. What do you all think???
Andris reminds me of . . . . .
i don't know! i can't think of too many current or former NBA players (center or power forward) who have games similar to Andris'. i mean, David Robinson was left handed, quick, had good hands, and could finish aggressively at the rim. but i wouldn't consider their games THAT similar. especially since Andris (at this point in his young career) doesn't have a mid-range shot like Robinson had. as all dub fans know, andris is quite unique in that he is exceptionally quick for his size, has GREAT hands, and is just SO active, almost rodman-like active when he goes after rebounds. (also, i just love the way he rocks da rim with two hands. although his one-handed posterization of Amare recently was sick too!) who do you think he plays like?
