• Dallas Looking at Jordan Hill?
Another interesting tidbit of information coming out of the NBA Combine in Chicago revolves around the Dallas Mavericks and potential interest they may have in Arizona power forward Jordan Hill. The rumor mill indicates that Dallas is seriously considering making a move to acquire the ultra athletic junior, and views him as exactly the type of tough, active rebounder they are missing in their frontcourt rotation at the moment. Brandon Bass currently fills that role for them, but they may not be able to keep him and still maintain ample cap space for 2010.
Hill’s measurements (6-9 ¼ without shoes, 7-1 ½ wingspan, 9-0 standing reach) in Chicago confirmed the notion many people had that he will have no problem seeing minutes at center in today’s NBA, particularly once he puts a little bit more weight on his frame.
One team that could reportedly help Dallas move up high enough to pick Hill is the Washington Wizards at #5, a team they already have a history with making draft-day deals. The two teams swapped Antawn Jamison for Jerry Stackhouse and the #4 pick (Devin Harris) back in 2004, a move that worked out well for both parties.
Dallas can offer either the non-guaranteed contract of Jerry Stackhouse to help the Wizards reduce payroll next year (while taking someone like Mike James or Etan Thomas off their hands) or they can help the Wizards by providing a veteran like Josh Howard or Jason Terry if it’s experience and scoring punch they are after. Either move would allow the Mavericks to stay flexible from a financial standpoint as they look towards the free agent class of 2010. They can also dangle their first round pick (#22).

something the Mavs should consider...
The rumor mill has been flooded with Marion and JO trade talks but why don't the Mavs join in on the discussion considering Donnie's love for creating three team trade scenarios. If the Mavs decide to let go JHo here is something we should consider:
http://games.espn.go.com/nba/features/traderesult?players=2006~802~3038~3249~615~510~2423&teams=28~28~14~6~14~6~28&te=&cash=
Mavs get Marion and another highflyer bench scorer with decent D in Moon
Miami gets JO plus shawne williams who has lots of potential as a SF-PF.
Toronto gets JHo (the needed starting wing player tthat has a very affordable contract) Dorell Wright a decent and tall SG-SF (6'9) and a 2009-2010 expiring they also get Stack who's a virtual expiring close to 5 mil (2 mil guaranteed) or 7 mil (if he is bought out)
I think its better overall than the original deal rumored online because of the fact that everyone gets something more in return. To sweeten up the deal we can also send cash to Miami to provide more cap relief. Overall we accomplish upgrading our roster with better D and more scoring options in Marion and Moon. And lastly we open up a roster spot to make a run at a vet free agent.
With this we would still be in a win now mode without sacrificing too much in return
"We love our team" (Do they really?)
I'm sure Mark, Rick and Donnie can't deny that this team needs more than the current personnel to even compete in the west judging by the poor showing of this team. Here is an interesting bit the front office should take a long look at according to Sam Smith of bulls.com: "One interesting name that comes up these days in trade is Oklahoma City's Earl Watson, a tough guy who really is a good backup..... Though Oklahoma makes you think about possibilities. They are burying veterans like Watson, Chris Wilcox and Joe Smith and don't seem to have a great amount of use for Nick Collison. GM's say you could get any of them, and I've always been a little intrigued by Wilcox and Collison."
Could this be true? well maybe part of it but still I hope they take a look at it especially Watson and Wilcox (though he just got injured recently) coz Collison might be a long shot but Mason would also be intriguing. Some tweaks will definitely help
