Anyone using it? Like it? Seems like a no brainer at only $30 for the year, but just checking to see if there are any negatives. I have MLB.tv and was wondering if it's a similar setup, etc.

Options question
OK. I understand that a guy has basically 3 option years. These are years that he is on the 40 man roster where he can freely be moved up and down. I also understand that these are not calendar years but 12 month periods, right? OS if A guy is brought up in July, he doesn't have 3 years until July. Same if it's a post season add to protect from the Rule 5, right? A guy is added in November 2008, so his option years are essentially entire 2009, 2010, and 2011 seasons because he wasn't on the 40 man during the 2008 season... Or am I wrong on multiple counts?
Adam Miller
Anyone at all know anything on his status? I know he was shooting to give it a go one more time, but don't know if he ever even got to throwing last year

Adam Miller
Hey everyone - Wondering if anyone is a Cleveland fan and knows if Adam MIller has made any progress. All I can find is that he had another surgery in December, and he was basically giving it one more shot to see if he could make the finger work without falling off again. Such a talent, it would be nice to see him make it in some capacity, or at least get a shot. Any news owuld be appreciated.
Adam Miller
Does anyone have any recent info on him? For obvious reasons, I can't find much. Is he trying to play this year? Is/was he in camp at all? Thoughts on whether he'll ever even play again (obviously he'd be a RP if he ever makes it)...

rank these pitching prospects
For real baseball purposes, not fantasy.
Madison Bumgarner, Aaron Crow, Jacob Turner, Stephen Strasburg, Jeremy Hellickson, Jhoulys Chacin, Dan Hudson
Strasburg is clearly number one, and Turner is probably at the bottom, but in the middle, it could go a few ways. Time to the majors should be a consideration. Liked Hudson's GB rates, Hellickson has excelled at every level, Chacin struggled in his debut last year, though not too much. Crow is a wild card and Turner is a ways off. Thoughts?
Brewer's catching situation
So the Brewers currently have 3 catchers on thier 40 man: Greg Zaun, George Kotarras, and Angel Salome. What are the chances that Salome gets some big league time this year? It seems he's got pressure behind him from Jonathon Lucroy, so do the Brewers give him a shot this year to see what he can do? Is his defense improved at all? I know this was the major knock on him, since he is kind of stuck at C or nothing given his body.
Teahen to the White Sox....
Fields and Getz to the Royals.
Read most places that Teahen slots at 3B now. With Dye option being declined, how do things shake out? The consensus I have seen is that Ramirez goes to 2B, Beckham to SS. So what happens in RF? Rios there and Podsednik in CF? I have no idea of Pods' defense, or if he's worthy of playing every day at this point (or even at all in CF). They also signed Mark Kotsay to a 1 year deal. I am interested in what the great minds here think happens, I respect the opinions here, fo rthe most part.
Sean Rodriguez going forward
So this is kind of a roundabout way to get to him and make this a prospect related discussion but here goes:
Rays resigned Gabe Kapler. Fangraphs seems to think it's to platoon with Matt Joyce in RF (Desmond Jennings waiting in the wings aside - that's an entirely new discussion). This would seem to push Ben Zobrist into the infield, crowding the picture with Bartlett (headed to arbitration - do they just dump him?), Iwamura (club option for 2K10 - do they decline it?), Zobrist (one would expect they look to play him as much as possible given his breakout), and Rodriguez (can play either MI position, but I possibly better suited to 2B, and running out of options). So, in everyone's opinion, how do they sort this mess out?
I figure Bartlett will be due alot in arbitration given his numbers this year. So money wise, he doesn't make much sense. Iwamura is good, but Rodriguez and/or Zobrist would be cheaper. So what happens? Does money dictate here, or do they try and hoard the talent?
Rule 5 moves
Who are some of the bigger name guys/top prospects who teams will be forced to put on the 40 man rosters come the Rule 5 draft? I know it's signed at 18, in sysytem for 5 years, or signed at 19, in system for 4 years. I am not sure of a good place to look up exactly when contracts were signed, so some guys it's tough for.
As a start, I believe that both Jeremy Hellickson and Desmond Jennings will have to be put on the Rays 40 man to protect them. It looks like maybe Logan Morrison might have to be protected as well. Who else can you think of?
Need some Posey enlightenment, please...
OK, I'll start by saying that I have been following prospects and the minor leagues for about a year to 18 months, and most of you guys have waaayyy more knowledge on the subject than myself. An avid reader and sometimes poster on this site, love everyone's opinions and the discussions that the different opinions bring to light.
That said, what are the Giants doing with Posey? I don't get it. Why purchase his contract and then not give him some PT? They started Whiteside on Sunday, and brought him in during late innings as a double switch last night. Why not take the opportunities to get Posey some on the field ML experience? I mean, they don't lose anything defensively by putting Posey in instead of Whiteside, correct? And certainly the potential for a better offense contribution goes to Posey, right? Help me understand their thinking...
Matusz up
I don't have a link. But I live in baltimore, and 105.7 "the fan", the local sports station just announced it, and they are the ones who would know. I'll link ASAP.

Average level ages
I know that alot of people like to compare age to level. I think it holds some value if a player is young for his level. So that said, what are the average ages for each level? I can't seem to find it anywhere, and it would help me out in evalulating prospects. I'm new to the game of prospect evaluation, so any help on this is very appreciated. Thanks again for any help.
Gordon Beckham's prospects in the field
Where does he end up long term? Is he really an MLB SS? Or does he stay at 3B/2B? Anyone have any ideas/reasoning? I will have the #1 pick this fall in my SIM league draft (by FAR the worst team in the league this year) and I am thinking of him at #1 based on who will be available in this draft that I know of right now. Thanks for any input...
SS who will actually be SS....
Any thoughts on decent SS prospects that will likely remain SS long term? Recently I have drafted guys like Sean Rodriguez and Manny Burriss when they were SS, and now they flop to 2B, leaving me shorted at SS in the future. Thoughts? How about guys like Triunfel, or Cardenas (I know the A's just started toying with him at 3B)? Any good indicators on how one can predict who will stay and who will move?

Spring Training Injuries
I was wondering if anyone new a good place to look up injury histories. I was trying to find out any significant injurieds in Spring Training over the last 3 years or so. This includes injuries to star, regular, and firnge type players. ANy ideas would be appreciated, or if you can think of any such injuries off the top of your head, fire away! Thanks for any help, this site has been invaluable to me!
How would you rank the following prospects?
Tough call, mixed bag from the draft and guys who have been around a bit. Listed in the order I see them in, just trying ot get a new perspective on them.
- Weiters
- Laporta
- Alvarez
- Alonzo
- Fowler
- Cahill
- Hanson
- Lars Anderson
- Brett Anderson
- Matt Gamel
I think that I am weighted a bit towards the hitters b/c that's what I need, but can always use pitching. Defense factors in because it's a BBW sim league, 20 teams with 60 man rosters, including 20 minor leaguers.
Trade history site...
Does anyone know a good site to look up trade histories?
For example who the A's traded to the Cubs for Harden (I know this one, but if I wanted to look something like that up....)
I was trying to remember a bunch of trades and look at the end value of prospects received for ML players during a season, say for a playoff push (a la' CC to the Brew Crew last year). Interested in seeing what kind of value guys bring in during different times of year and possibly getting some insight into which teams might scout other teams' farm systems the best.
