NCAA defends Calapri
From USA Today posted on KSR. From now on, if someone smears Cal with dirty cheater remarks, throw this in their face.
The Cats at the GA Dome
I posted this info in another thread, but thought it was interesting enough to combine the info and post here. Below are some cool stats I threw together about UK's history playing in the GA Dome. Hope you enjoy!

Big Eddy Road destroyed
I know this isn't UK sports related, but wanted to share some amazing Facebook pics of erosion and a mudslide I got yesterday. We got 4.5 inches of rain in Frankfort Monday night into Tuesday, and it was just too much on top of all the rain we've already had. I live about a mile down this road. Looks like I'll be taking the long route to work for a while..........
KSR takes a shot at Knight's career
KSR says take this, General jerkwad:
"People love to talk about how big of a hypocrite Bob Knight is. Because he talks so often about how college basketball should be, yet he verbally and physically abused his own players, opponents, administration, police officers, and Puerto Ricans. Then he defends people like Jim Tressell but is critical of John Calipari. In the end, he is fairly irrelevant. He is more of a sideshow, a freak on the college basketball scene.
So, I thought I would insult him in the worst way possible and that is insulting his actual coaching resume. In 1987, Knight won his 3rd national championship at Indiana in his 16th season there, to go along with 8 conference championships. Certainly, at that point in his career, he was about as elite as they come. And if Bob Knight perished in 1987, he would have gone down as an all-time great coach.
Of course, he coached 25 1/2 other seasons at Army, Indiana, and Texas Tech. Funny how those seasons, which comprised 61% of his career, are passed over. In the math class I took in high school, that was called a MAJORITY of his career. Here are a few interesting stats from those 25 1/2 years, aka the majority:
Record: 535-253
Average record: 21-10
Hmmmmm, his average record over the last 19+ plus seasons coaching was 21-10. I feel like a coach that recently coached at Kentucky was pushed out the door for 21-10 seasons. His name was Tubby Smith. He had about 3-4 seasons like that. Bobby Knight coached like that for 25 years of his career. But, who got more grief for that kind of record?
Final Four Appearances: 1
Wanna know other coaches who had 1 Final Four Appearance over those 25 years of Bob Knight’s career: Lon Kruger, Paul Hewitt, Richard Williams, Jim Laranaga, John Brady, P.J. Carlesimo. Any of those elite coaches? Didn’t think so. Yet for the MAJORITY of his coaching career, this is the level of coaching Bob Knight did.
In Bob Knight’s final 13 seasons, he made ONE Sweet 16 appearance.
In Bob Knight’s final 13 seasons, he finished higher than 3rd in his conference ONCE.
Bob Knight quit on his final team mid-season.
Bob Knight was fired from a job for multiple abuses. A school he won 3 titles at.
In Bob Knight’s final 9 seasons, he won ZERO conference tournament titles.
In Bob Knight’s final 9 seasons, he made ZERO conference tournament title games.
Bob Knight is a hypocrite. Period. The majority of that is personally. But professionally, his career should also get some criticism."
A little something different.........
Hey guys, I've been coming on here (occasionally posting) for about a year or so now. I always love Tru's writing and his particular take on all things UK. I've noticed he's been posting some links to the Wildcat examiner at examiner.com here lately, so I wanted to mention that I'm writing some music articles over there myself. I'm not Tru or Ken, but I'm having fun with it and do make a little bit of moolah with each hit on my page. Anyway, I know it's not UK related but I hope some of you might check out my page and let me know what you think. Thanks all..........
Future Pitino press conference
This is nothing short of brilliant! Bravo Sports Pickle..........bravo!!!!!!!!
Dana O' Neil rakes UK and Calipari over the coals
Wow, someone has some anger management issues! Settle down Dana............settle down.......
Pitino had his own skeletons
Posted this link in today's news comments, but wanted to post it here too. Just a little reminder to all that 20 years ago our UK savior wasn't all squeaky clean either. When you dig deep enough you can find dirt on just about anybody.

Why Calipari should have stayed
While I can see the point this guy is trying to make, I think it's an unfair judgement. For one thing Cal made it clear that his decision was a very tough one...........also evidenced by his Memphis press conference. And he also met with his team to tell them before anyone else. I mean there's no doubt he cares.
But even more there are always going to be kids you leave behind.....every single year. A coaching change is always going to affect the kids left, and there's really no way to avoid that IMO.
Kelly Tripucka's mustache......
Not sure what to say about this one............lol!
No Billy vs Jeannine part 3???
So very disappointing it didn't happen. Could have been a highlight of the game. Even as Jeannine was interviewing Stallings at the half, I could see in her eyes that she truly missed Billy. All the while her silly schoolgirl crush fresh in her mind.
Obviously this affected Billy greatly. I'm sure he couldn't concentrate in the locker room at halftime, and we all saw what happened in the 2nd half. His head just wasn't in the game at the thought of her with another man out on the court.
It's ok Billy, we've all been there. We've all acted irrationally and stumbled over our tongues at the sight of a beautiful woman. But she's not for you man! No one at the ACC network is, so get over it!!
There's only one girl that can make you forget about her Billy, and her name is Ashley. Get to know her and your broken heart will quickly mend. Couldn't hurt the rest of our season either............
Three pointer defense
Some ststs on opponents 3 point shooting:
Season prior to SEC: 88/272 (32.3%)
SEC: 65/169 (38.4%)
Interestingly our opponents actually shot the 3 a bit better in our SEC wins (39.4%) than our SEC losses (37.3%). But during those first 5 wins we were scoring a LOT more than in the last 3 losses.
Now that Meeks and Patterson are being held down (and Perry is hit and miss), I see the perimeter defense as more important than ever. Billy G, when are you going to come down off your high horse and admit we might just need to start playing some zone defense against these quicker, more agile opponents we're facing? It's time to swallow your pride and make a change!!!
The SEC needs it's villian back.......
How true! Don't worry, we're comin.........
VMI's high-octane offense producing points and now wins
Everybody out there (probably very few from this site) who were ready to send BillyG packing after the VMI loss should read this.....
