Stampede Blue Don't let the door hit you...

I'm a little disappointed (okay very disappointed) at how ignorant Colt's fans are showing themselves to be. Ankles are breaking all over Indy as people jump off the Colts bandwagon. All this talk from Colts fans "I'll never root for the Colts again" and "I hope Luck is a bust" is absurd.

All I ask from anyone taking this stance is to please keep your promise. Please go away and don't come back.

This is probably the best breakdown I've read on the Colts. Very good stuff from Bleacher Report.

NFL Network?

Is the Thursday night Colts game going to be shown on a local network? If so which one? I'm a Comcast customer that can't leave the house Thursday night.

Hogs Haven Insight on Hunter Smith

Colts fan here> I just want to say you guys landed a great punter. I really wanted the Colts to resign so he could play under our new special teams coach. Its not going to happen so I'm just glad he went to an NFC team rather than an AFC rival. I think he will be in the Pro Bowl for the NFC because he finally has a decent coverage unit that won't have a negative effect on his NET like it did in Indy. He didn't make it for the AFC because of Lechler & the Colts terrible coverage units. Not to mention Russ Purnell (former special teams coach) was beyond horrible at his job. Aside from the fact the guy can drill the ball I have added a few interesting facts about Hunter.

1. He was the  Colts third string QB for years. (Never Used Thank God)
2. He is a freak athlete. He can do crazy dunks with a b-ball and supposedly wins the team dunk contest at camp every year. He also high jumped 6' 11" while on the track team at Notre Dame

3. Was actually recruited by Notre Dame as a QB/WR out of high school.

4. Great on fake punts. Tony Dungy was a very conservative coach that did not like to run trick plays otherwise you would have seen it a lot more. One of the few times he tried a fake kick Hunter scored a game winning touchdown against the Jets back in 03.

5. He is very fast for a punter. Back in 99 Deion Sanders was talking smack in a pre-game interview about how punters don't stand a chance against him in the open field. Saying "If I see that punters eyes, he better close shop" About an hour after FOX aired that video clip Deion was caught from behind by a punter. I have added the link below if you want to see it.

I just drafted for the Vikings in our draft over at Stampede Blue. Feel free to rip on the choice if you want.

Daily Norseman Ideas for Stampede Blue mock draft?

Hey all. I have selected the Vikings in our mock draft over at the Colts site. I have always liked the Vikings for some reason and root for them as my NFC team. I am open to any thoughts you all must have regarding your top pick. Much like the Colts I'm seeing a lot of interest and talk about the WR position. Do you guys consider a QB if Sanchez falls? Is Sage your answer, if so do you take a long look at OT? Let me know what you think.

Stampede Blue Rumor that the Colts will let Smith walk.

I can't let my source be known, but I'm hearing within the Colts organization that they are not planning on signing Hunter Smith. They apparantly want to get someone to play for the league minimum at that position. This sucks in my opinion. We saw first hand what a good punter can do in the San Diego game. I was really hoping to see what our 2 great kickers could do now that Purnell is out of the picture. In my opinion, our kickers were constantly having to cater to the horrible coverage teams that Russ was responsible for. Asking for the ball to be kicked as high as possible and praying for a fair catch instead of drilling it 60 yards downfield and trusting your coverage teams could do their job. Russ Purnell sucks and I'm glad he's with Jack Del Rio now. They can suck together.
