Burnt Orange Nation KU Starter Suspended Indefinitely

Kansas junior guard Tyshawn Taylor has been suspended indefinitely from the team for violating team rules, coach Bill Self announced Monday.

"Although we are disappointed in Tyshawn, he will remain a member of our team and practice with our team until he is reinstated for competition," Self said in a statement.

Taylor is averaging 8.8 points per game for Kansas and ranks third in the Big 12 in in assists per game (4.7).

Burnt Orange Nation Orakpo tweaks hamstring......

Per NFL.com

Texas defensive end Brian Orakpo limped off the field a few minutes ago and went under the bleachers with one of the trainers. He’s done for the day, but it’s just a tweaked hamstring. Orakpo said he was worried after he thought he heard it ‘pop’, but the trainer said he was ok. Before his workout session ended early, Orakpo was among the top 10 defensive linemen in the 40-yard dash and the vertical jump. He also posted a top-10 performance in the bench press on Sunday.

Burnt Orange Nation Bill Simmons at it again....

Simmons and Paul Shirley on Podcast speak about the NBA and some mention of Rick Barnes and KD. For me, listening to Bill Simmons makes me dislike him even more because of his voice, plus the fact that he continues to bash Barnes. Though he's nerve-wrecking, the actual conversation between the two is pretty interesting. Go to ESPN and under the huge pic of Oden and KD there's a spotlight section and just go to the NBA tag. Check it out...

Burnt Orange Nation the power of VY

the power of Vince Young........(from indmix.com about Texas Relays weekend)

Witnessed a lot of funny things that weekend but one of the funnier events happened right after this party. First off Vince Young is like the Mayor of Austin .. his popularity status out there exploded exponentially and he handled it pretty good. So to the story ... after the party Vince and his crew are walking out of Iron Cactus and this dude comes out of nowhere and taps Vince on his arm pretty hard.
Dude: sup my ni**a!
(raising his eyebrow insinuating that he has no real idea who this dude is)
Vince : uhmm What's up dawg .. what's going on with you?
Dude: (smoking a black & mild) "oh nothing just trying to get to where you at ..."
(without a flinch Vince Smacks the Black & Mild out the dude's hand and puts it out with a Michael jackson stomp and says to the dude)
Vince: Well you ain't going to get where am I at doing that!

LMAOOOOOOO!!!! That was some funny sh*t! You have to have witnessed it ... that dude just stood there with an expressionless look. That ol i-swear-if-this-wasn't-vince-young-I'll-box you look .... that boy Vince is a fool, I can't believe he did that.

Burnt Orange Nation They don't make 'em like this anymore......

We give respect to a lot to players and coaches in every sport, but you will be hard pressed to find a pioneer as GREAT as Eddie Robinson.

Before I became such a obsessive Longhorn fan, I was raised in a small town 15 miles south of Grambling, La and I was taught at a young age about legendary Grambling State University. No school in Louisiana was larger in reputation and respectability than Grambling. The career of this great individual can be matched by very few and in today's game will never be remotely duplicated again.

Excuse my lenghthy tribute to Coach Rob, but he has a special place in my heart as a person and a coach, a icon!

I'm an African-American of course, and he may mean more to me than to others out there. But if you're a true, traditonal football fan than you can appreciate the greatness that I speak of.

When you mention Bear Bryant, Bobby Bowden, Joe Paterno, there is no doubt in my mind that Eddie Robinson is in that fraternity of elite college football greats!

Check out the message board too, it reminds you how ignorant some people can be when they know nothing about the team as a whole. http://www.sportsline.com/columns/story/10071626

Burnt Orange Nation I FEEL SICK.....

I forgot how miserable it makes me when we lose to Aggies in anything! And losing by 20 is definitely a diarrheic feeling. Is throwing up in my mouth a viable comparison? If not, will someone please tell me the equivalent of losing to this cult-imposing JUCO?

Burnt Orange Nation Lousiville Cheerleader

Since we had the USC cheerleader(song girl)it would only be appropriate to stay along those lines. This is not "work friendly". Also, it's not the first thing that pops up, it's a blog w/ the link in it. Hopefully it doesn't offend anyone, if so, please accept my apology.

Burnt Orange Nation Sooner....I cheat and I don't care

The NCAA penalized new Indiana coach Kelvin Sampson and Oklahoma, his former team, on Thursday for impermissible phone calls to recruits. Jeff Goodman says Oklahoma got two years' probation and two scholarships taken away. Sampson, meanwhile, won't be allowed to call IU recruits -- or recruit off campus -- for a year.
