One thing that no one has really brought up is trading for Leandro Barbosa of the Phoenix Suns. There have been a bunch of free-agent point guards mentioned out there, but none of them sound that great (with Calderon, Udrih, and Arenas going back to their current teams). And that makes trading for Barbosa such an attractive option, and he makes about $6 mil next year, and tops off at $7.6 mil in 2011 (which is a player option). I really wished we could of found a way to use the trade exception for him when we still had the chance, but then again, that was pre-baron-opt-out, so it didn't look as good of a deal to make then. Barbosa's lightning quick (imagine other teams trying to keep up with BOTH the Brazilian Blur and The Mississippi Bullet!) , knows how to play in a small-ball, fast-break system, and would be a starting PG on any other team that didn't have nash, williams, paul, BD. Barbosa's relatively cheap too, considering our cap situation now, and immediately helps soften the blow of losing BD. Not sure how much Phoenix likes Al Harrington, or trading with a Pacific Division rival), but I think he could probably help that team out if we could find a way to trade him for Barbosa. Of course, there'd probably be more involved, like cash considerations (which I think the Suns would want since they're financial situation probably sucks balls because of Shaq's monster contract), and future first round draft picks (since Phoenix seems to keep giving them away). But with D'antoni outta Phoenix, and Nash and Shaq only getting older, I think the Suns will probably slow down their style of play, and I think that if they took a chance on Harrington, he'd probably do better with them than jacking up 3s all the time with the warriors. Remember, Harrington was more effective when he was a bang-it down low guy with the Pacers/Hawks (about a 17ppg and 7rpg guy). I don't know, this could just be a wet dream of mine, but I hope that Chris Mullin is thinking about the possibility of trading for Barbosa. I know I didn't take into account a lot of other factors about why Phoenix would do this deal and etc. etc., but that's what your comments are for. :D Thanks for reading, and keep believing! I still think the future is looking bright for this organization (that is...if we keep Ellis and Biedrins **knock on wood**).

Just found this on sfgate.com

Wright, whom Nellie loves to say won't be ready to play until his braces come off, is set to have them removed this weekend.

here's the link: http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/blogs/warriors/detail?&entry_id=24315

Just thought it was pretty funny, and you never know, he may play soon (GOD I HOPE HE DOES). But then again, Nellie's words don't always have credibility to back them up. Guess we'll just see how it turns out after the All-Star break.
But I'm sure we can all agree, The Wright Thing To Do Is To Play Wright, Wright?

The Reason Why MP is missing (if anyone cares)

Warriors F Mickael Pietrus missed his second straight game after the birth of his first child with his longtime girlfriend. He's expected to rejoin the club in Toronto. ...

Here's the link

Pretty interesting that nba.com found this out before any of the local media did. CONGRATS to MP anyways!

P.S. Even though it's not related to this post, I just wanted to see if anyone saw the mavs/spurs game on thursday. Seems like Dallas is trying to rip off our gold We Believe t-shirts with maverick green ones of their own. Personally, I'm disgusted when I see these rip offs (i.e. Utah's powder blue ones during the playoffs) And plus, only a sea of gold at the rocking Roaracle can look fly. Shame on the mavs for trying to copy us in that ugly looking green.

Golden State Warriors guard Monta Ellis, who was injured during the team's evening practice session at BYU-Hawaii on Friday when he hit his head on the hip of rookie forward Brandan Wright during a full court scrimmage, was released from the hospital late Friday night (Hawaii time, just before midnight). Ellis left Castle Hospital in Kailua, Hawaii on his own accord with what was diagnosed as simply a neck sprain.
