I'm a casual boxing fan who got reacquainted with the sport by playing Fight Night Round 3. Most of the fights I've watched are courtesy of youtube or other Internet sources--at the great expense of getting work done.

I've never had cable TV, which means my exposure to fights has been limited. But I'd rank the 1986 cruiserweight title fight between Dwight Qawi and a young Evander Holyfield as one of the best I've seen.

I'm fascinated by the subtleties of the sport, by the style and the power and the ferocity of competition. By the sheer effing heart required to stand in and keep standing.

I spend most of the rest of my time following Formula One. NASCAR is dead to me, and one of these days I'll get around to starting an F1 blog. Perhaps in the SB Nation...

Bad Left Hook Johnny Knoxville, Idiot

Much is made here on BLH and elsewhere about the dangers of a combat sport like boxing. Magnify those dangers to the exponent of your choice for people who take boxing lightly. Like, for example, Johnny Knoxville, the original Jackass. Here Knoxville takes it upon himself to show Butterbean a thing or two about the sweet science. In a department store. It's a wonder this guy is still alive.
