McCovey Chronicles Long Day’s Journey Into Night

Since it's never too late to read about what it means to win the World Series for a lifelong Giants fan I thought I'd share this story with you all. It was written by my friend's dad the day after the Giants won the Series. It's a little longer than most posts here, but I think it's an amazing story about life as a Giants fan. Hope you enjoy.

McCovey Chronicles The return of Barry? Says ESPN...

I already know much ink has been spilled on the McCC over whether or not to bring back Barry. So I just thought I'd bring it up one more time since it seems relevant with this article being published today in ESPN Page 2.

The only compelling argument Caple has is: "If the Dodgers can sign Manny Ramirez, the Yankees can have A-Rod and Andy Pettitte and the Red Sox use Big Papi, the Giants shouldn't feel bad about bringing back Barry." This is weak at best (a la 3rd grade playground banter - "he's cheating so I should be able to too.") Even though I grew up idolizing Barry and still sport his jersey to games sometimes, I've been more than happy turning a new leaf these past couple years and leaving the Barry-roid era in the past. In honesty, I think this article was written for all those fans that are missing some good competition and excitement in their division. While out here in the NL West I feel like every game has been for a berth in the playoffs since the All-Star break. Barry I love you, but I don't miss you.

Giants loyalists thoughts?
