"In a telephone interview with the New York Post, Scott Boras said Rodriguez assuredly will become Major League Baseball's first $30 million-a-year player.

However, Boras said he will not take up the Yankees' offer to negotiate before the season ends.

"We are not going to be negotiating during the season," Boras said. Boras insisted he could see no way that strategy will change, saying "This is Alex's decision. This has been his policy, and I fully expect this to continue to be his policy.""

per ESPN.

Indians claim Koronka per Rotoworld

I hate to start a new diary just for this, but I couldn't find a better place for it.

"Indians claimed LHP John Koronka off waivers from the Rangers.
It's surprising the Indians wanted Koronka, but since moving Adam Miller to the pen did take away their rotation depth, another potential stopgap can't hurt. The 27-year-old Koronka has a has a 6.02 ERA in 28 starts and one relief appearance as a major leaguer. He'll likely be assigned to Triple-A Buffalo."

I'm surprised the Indians claimed him. I didn't really think anyone would ( I guess the Rangers didn't either). Although, I don't think it's too bad of a loss.

So with the offseason pretty much finished , will we be seeing more additions to the list of top 50 Rangers of all time?

The actual figures aren't available yet, but it's apparently more valuable than Soriano's 8 year deal with the Cubs.

...to read the article yourself go to Prosportsdaily.com

Barajas about to sign w/ Jays

...per rotoworld.

"Free agent Rod Barajas is expected to sign a two-year deal to take over as the Jays' primary catcher. He'll get about $3 million per year. Barajas won't contribute quite as much on offense as Bengie Molina and Gregg Zaun did last season, but he should be an upgrade on defense. The Jays will probably use Jason Phillips as his backup."
