Buffalo Rumblings Size

The buffalo bills always talks about size and how that pertains. Moving Moats to inside linebacker cause he is only 6 foot tall is the wrong move. Theres a guy that plays for the steelers named harrison and he is under 6 foot. The bills once had the biggest O-line in the league and it didnt work. Bills need to stopp worrying about size and worrie about getting players. One other case is are very own willams at only 6 ft1 he is one of the best cause he is a football player

Buffalo Rumblings 4 rd mock that can make bills take the next step

Von Miller #3 pick

Height: 6-1 1/4

Weight: 243

40 time: 4.56

Current projection: First-round pick

Vs. the inside run: Does a good job of checking to make sure the play is not breaking back to his responsibility, then explodes down the line and has the speed to chase down the play easily. Flashes the strength to take on fullbacks strong at the point of attack and can shed and make tackles. Isn’t as effective when he has to take on and defeat offensive-line blocks. Grade: 7.5 (with 9.0 being the highest)

Vs. the outside run:
Has the tools to be excellent against the outside run—both to his side and the opposite side. Does a good job maintaining outside containment. Can take on and defeat tight end blocks and make tackles. Has outstanding range to chase down plays. Once he identifies the play, can accelerate to full speed in a flash. Has the closing burst to consistently finish plays. Grade: 8.0

Blitz/coverage: Is an elite pass rusher who can change games with his ability to defeat blocks and consistently pressure the QB. Shows the ability to beat tackles inside or outside with a variety of pass-rush. Will need to improve his corner-turning technique by dipping his shoulder when a blocker is leaning on him. Has the quickness, agility and smooth athleticism to cover tight ends in man coverage but needs experience in this area. Grade: 7.0

Pursuit/tackling: Has outstanding range to chase down plays in pursuit. Is generally a good tackler, but at times will get a little upright and straight-legged when he gets close to the ballcarrier, which causes him to overrun the ballcarrier and miss tackles. Moves through traffic with surprising ease. Is able to hurdle and work through low blocks and traffic while maintaining speed. Chases down plays with ease. Grade: 8.0

Bottom line: Miller led the country in sacks as a junior and nearly came out for the 2010 draft. He likely would have been a first-round pick a year ago, but he has looked even better this season. He has lined up as both an end and an outside linebacker and has been productive from both spots. He could play in any NFL scheme but is best suited to play rush linebacker in a 3-4 system.

Marvin Austin UNC

Marvin Austin was one of the most highly touted prospects to come out of the 2007 high school recruiting class. The Ballou High School product was the #7 overall recruit in the nation, and the #1 defensive tackle according to Rivals.com.

2011 NFL Draft

Will a year off miss Austin's draft stock?

Austin played in every game as a freshman and started in 24 of his last 26 games as a Tar Heel. However, he was completely dismissed from Butch Davis’ North Carolina squad prior to the 2010 season because of his involvement in the notorious player/agent scandal. He was said to have received between $10,000 and $13,000 in total benefits from NFL agents. He didn’t get to play in a game for over an entire year, until getting an invite to the 2011 East/West Shrine Bowl.

Player Name: Marvin Austin

Position: Defensive Tackle

School: North Carolina

Height: 6’3

Weight: 310

Strengths

Austin is a big, physical gap stuffer who uses his physical strength to bully interior lineman. He has an absolute load to try and block with one person and he takes up space, often eating up two blockers. Austin does a nice job getting low and maintain leverage and is very stout at the point of attack. He doesn’t allow himself to get pushed back, actually quite the opposite. He excels in crashing down, and getting into the backfield at times to disrupt plays. He moves well laterally for the most part, and is quite quick for a 310-315 pound defensive tackle. He is solid in play recognition, and does a nice job of reading the offensive line to tell where the play is going.

Weaknesses

Austin isn’t a pure penetrator, and he lacks great pass rush moves. He’s going to be a guy that plays as a five technique in a 3-4 defense most likely in the NFL, although he’s definitely an option to stick to the 4-3 defense as a gap stuffing tackle. Austin is known to take plays off, not playing with the same motor throughout the entire game. He tends to wear down later in the games, when it matters the most. He’s not extremely athletic, and while he moves well for a big guy, he won’t be doing many stunts and twists in the NFL. Character concerns will rise because of the player/agent scandal. Receiving over $10,000 bucks in improper benefits has to raise questions.

Draft Range

Austin’s talent lies in the first round, for sure. But missing an entire season will raise questions about his conditioning and readiness to make an impact immediately in the NFL. Because of this, and potential character concerns, Austin could easily slide to the second round. If he’s looked at in the first, look for teams like New Orleans, Baltimore, New England, and Pittsburgh to take a look at him. His best bet is in the early second round where he could go off the board to Buffalo, Cincinnati, Denver, Dallas, or Washington

Phil Taylor 3rd round.

Couldnt find any info on him other then he is huge. They said he was run clogger and that he has the size to play NT. And is very stronge through out his body. he was throwing O linemen around like dolls at the east- west shrine game.

4rd pick

John Moffitt  #74  OL

Just plan a big man who was part of the best line in collage

Danny Watkins Scouting Report
Danny Watkins
Danny Watkins - Baylor (HT: 6-3½ - WT: 312)
Combine 40: N/A - Pro Day 40: N/A - Position Rank: 3 of 26

Positives: Solid athlete... Good strength and power... Good drive blocker... Stays low and plays with good leverage... Can get movement in the running game... Explodes into his blocks... Can pull reasonably well... Can get to the second level... Does a nice job blocking in space... Good short area quickness... Reasonably good footwork lateral movement and slide... Good anchor, holds his ground versus bull rushers... Does a nice job re-setting and re-establishing position... Good balance... Not a natural knee bender but is consistently getting better... Good arm extension and solid and improving hand placement... Heavy and violent hands, uses his hands well... Controls defender once locked on... Sustains his blocks... Patient, sits into his stance and lets defender come to him... Mean streak, very physical... Good motor, hard worker, competitive, tenacious.

Negatives: Will stand upright into his stance when pass blocking... Kick step can be a little shallow... Can be a little slow to re-direct... Plays with a narrow base at times but still manages to maintain his balance reasonably well... Allows his hands to get a little high and wide at times... Will be a 26 yr. old rookie.

Buffalo Rumblings What still Saying Maybin isnt one of the best 53 men on the roster

Stat Line 2 sacks caused 1 fumble. He is coming along and i still stand behind what i said and say he will be starting by end of year. The linebacker group will be Chris Ellis Authur Moats POz And Maybin by end of the year. Which by next year will be one of the youngest and one of the best in football. Maybin is comeing along. The Bills Need to Move Florence back to nickle back where he belongs and put Mckliven back at the starting job. And they need to cut lankser.

Frist bills need to go Ot in the frist rd this yr. That is the biggest need besides QB. I say OT and Not QB cause there is gonna be a bigger return in OT than any other pos. RE edwards and stroud backing up both ends. olb rt side maybin. ILB mitchell, poz, OTher OLB kelsay. NOw in shocble comes back he would start over kelsay. CB would MCClvein and MCgee, Safty would be Byrd and whitner. Thats a pretty good line up in the frist yr. This is a 3-4 yr rebuilding process. lets let it play out and see if these guys can get it rt. Ithink they will. WE got real footballminds minds in control now. GO BILLS FAN FROM NEW MEXICO. Buffalo Rumblings The Lines

Buffalo dosent need to listen to all of us who think they know what to do. All they have to do is build the team they want. I think there gonna build it the rt way from the lines out. this year is one of the deepest for linemen on both sides in the last 15 yrs. So thats a smart move. Next yr is the yr we get the qb of the future and add some other peices like Lbs and other wrs. Worrie about building the lines with a good draft this yr. in fact i would love to see them pick all line men in this draft. The reasoning being is last yr with all the injuries shows u cant have enough GOOD LINEMEN. DONT BE FOOLED IN TO THINKING BELL CAN PLAY LT AND BE A STARTER CAUSE HE CANT.Buffalo showed that when u have a LT U DONT GET RID OF HIM CAUSE UR NOT GOING TO HAVE ONE AS GOOD TO REPLACE HIM IN THREE YRS.So Stop beliveing dicky j knows linemen. Darft the best linemen avaible and lets get rolling.
