Over at DMN blog Sefko reports that Eddie Jones picked up his $2 million option for this year.  AND reports that we will see something happening with Devean George in the next couple days.  All I have to say is UGGGGHHHHHHH...

I pretty much new that Eddie Jones was gonna pick up his option (I mean its a no-brainer...who else would pay the old man 2 mil a year?).  But this is getting pretty tiring...I know its been fairly quiet with people commenting and posting on Mavsmoneyball (its the offseason and all) but is anyone else really coming to the conclusion that we need to start fresh or something??  I really wouldn't want to be Donnie Nelson right now but this is not looking ver promising...even with a new coach we have to be delusional if we think this team is a top 3-4 team in the Western Conference.  I am almost starting to agree with all the pessimists out there that we should start fresh and trade either Dirk, J-Kidd, JET, J-Ho, and Damp.  I really don't know what else can be done to get people excited about the Mavs right now...I for one right now am not looking forward to another disappointing Mavs season...I really think that I am starting to lose years off my life by being a fan of this team (and I am only 24!!)

Hopefully someone can change my tune here...

Found this in David Moore's column on Saturday...I dont know if anyone ever commented on this but I thought I would throw it out there.

Maggette would fit

Corey Maggette in a Mavericks uniform?

Mike Dunleavy thought it would happen. The LA Clippers coach revealed he was close to a deal that would have sent Maggette to the Mavericks for Jason Terry in the off-season before owner Donald Sterling stepped in and said no.

I can see why the Mavericks considered the move. Maggette is taller and more athletic than Terry. He and Josh Howard would be interchangeable at shooting guard and small forward. The Mavericks would create mismatches at those two positions almost every night. It would also allow Jerry Stackhouse to fill a true sixth man role without alteration.

That being said, don't minimize Terry's impact on this team. His speed and ability to come up big in big games are valuable commodities. He gets the edge over Maggette in both areas.

If the Mavericks ever do move Terry, they will likely want a player like Maggette - or Maggette himself - in return.

I would have had no problem sending JET to LA for Maggette...just think about all the mismatches we would have...crazy.

I wanted to see what everyone's thoughts were on Moe and him being sent down to the D League.  I for one am pretty disappointed so far with him this year...I remember when we drafted him I was thinking he was going to be the sleeper of the draft and that he could be a starter by now.  

I know he needs time and is young but if he were to develop earlier it might be easier to make some trades this season...especially if we were to trade JET...Moe could have been a solid #2 this season.  I don't think we are in dire need to make a trade or anything...but I believe it would be easier to pull the trigger on a trade if Moe could handle being a starter or be the 6th man.

Just wanted to see what everyone's thoughts were about Moe and see if anyone shared my opinion here.

First off...I love Dirk.  But what he just did to this team was unexcusable...I will be the first to give the Warriors credit...they played well and won the series.

BUT the ultimate reason we had this series stolen from us was DIRK NOWITZKI.  There were those who doubted Dirk's ability to lead this team and show everyone the way...but now the "stigma" Dirk has is 100% true...this guy is NOT a leader.  He will never be a leader...

In order for this team to win a championship we need a player like Darrell Armstrong...someone who knows how to be a leader and knows what it takes to be a winner.

I am almost sick to my stomach on seeing Dirk's performance...just pathetic. Please Dirk I beg you...give back the MVP trophy...you don't deserve it.

Congrats Warriors fans...you beat the Mavs straight up.

I can understand that you all want to cheer for your team and back up certain players...I would back up every Mavs player as well.
But backing up a horrible person like Stephen Jackson?!?!?!? Come on now...thats like me backing up Roy Tarpley back in the day and saying he is a great human being...even though he was a huge coke head. Stephen Jackson is a good solid basketball player...thats it!!

Stephen Jackson belongs in the same category as Pac-Man Jones and Chris Henry...just uneducated thug athletes that give every other good quality athlete a bad name.

I wouldn't be surprised if he was dumb enough to pull a gun on the refs for making a bad call on him...he is a great basketball player (just like Pac-man is a great football player) but he is an awful human being...who for the better of our society DOES belong in jail.

Saying he is misunderstood is an absolute joke as well...thats like saying Ron Artest is misunderstood for punching fans for talking sh*t about him
