Recent Developments
Well, I don't post here very often. I do read almost every word written here, and that has added a whole new dimension to my Dolphins mania. I feel more connected to the team thru this community, and I know I am a more educated fan today than I was before I found The Phinsider. Recent developments have given me more ideas and thoughts I want to share than my usual "lurking in the comments sections" gives me a chance to express. So here goes:
After that "lightening in a bottle" 2008 season that was just pure magic in so many ways, I have actually spent most of the last 12 months not wanting to admit that I was a little apprehensive about 2009. First, because last season was so special, I didn't want anything to come along and tarnish what 2008 was. I have been a lifelong Dolphan, and I felt things last year that I had forgotten how to feel about the team that I love best. Next was the simple fact that we do have a hellish schedule to play this year. Even though I loved what we accomplished last year, I could see that it took everything going our way to get it done against lesser competition than we face this year.
Recently though, I have gained a calm sense of certainty that this years team is way above the caliber of last years team. I am going out on a limb here predicting our defense to be top 5 this year. At almost every position, we have serious studs that will knock your block off. Sean and Vontae and Gibril are very welcome additions in how physically they approach the responsibilities of their positions. No more will I cringe watching Goodman sidestep a tackle and then try to ballhawk from behind in order to avoid contact. Of course, we all know what JT, JP, and YBell bring. That leaves Channing Crowder. Very little comment on this guy all off-season and pre-season. Watch him. I believe he is going to really have a break out year this year. He has gotten better and better, and he's also playing a very physical brand of football.
Our offense will be better too. Man, I'm prayin for a whole season of Donald Thomas. Ronnie and Ricky will be better behind this O-line. Patrick Cobbs and Devon Bess will be playing with serious confidence. They both don't have to wonder anymore if they can really play in this league. The draft picks at WR are lookin good, too. Now we are so deep at WR that no one even worries about that position. Our "QB" controversy is ridiculous. I am CP10 biggest fan, but I really believe this offense has great opportunity no matter which Dolphins QB is runnin the show.
And let me count the ways I love the brain trust behind it all. Thank you guys for cutting Eric Green and Ernest Wilford. That was well done not waiting till cuts had to be made. Just pack your sh_t, fellas! That sends a message...again. These guys runnin this thing are serious. They want a ring. You can just feel what they are buildin.
Lookin forward to seein it all play out. Can't wait!

Does anybody know...
... where the link is to that "Pennington is Comin to Town" song? That was hilarious, and I want to forward it to some friends. I thought it was front paged.
I really appreciate the help. If I repeat this request below, it's just to make the minimum.
I really appreciate your help,

Gameday, Baby!!
Well, its a quarter to 7am. I think I' m the 1st one up. I woke up and started thinkin about this huge game, and I could'nt sleep anymore. So here's our 1st post of this glorious day!
Let me start by sayin I feel better about this game than I thought I would. I am a diehard Dolfan, but for the longest time now if my Dolphins had a big game, I went into it rooting for them, but fearing that somehow they would come unglued. I don't feel that way this AM. I know today I am going to be able to be proud of their effort no matter what.
How lucky are we fans to have guys to root for that are hard workin, gritty guys like CP10, Camarillo, undrafted Bess, Smiley, Ferguson, and guys that have kept workin when huge tides of public opinion were against them, like Tedd Ginn, Joey Porter and Ricky Williams. Man, am I proud to root for each one of them and the team as a whole. Throw Coach right in with the rest of em. How do you not love that guy?
This is our day! This has been comin for a long time for these guys. The Pats are just not going to get up for this like our guys will. The Pats are psychologically still aware of too much recent success. This game just can't mean as much to them as it does us. If they lose, they're still the freakin world beating Patriots. But our guys... if they lose, ...well they can't even think about that. Today is their day, and its been a long time comin.
Here's to all that hard work payin off. Lets go kick some Patriot ass and take our place in the sun!!
PS Jets lose by 10!!!

Gameday, baby!!
Ok, I am another newbie. I just signed up today.
I am stoked to be watching the Dolphins play some meaningful games. I watch em no matter what. I was born and raised in SoFla, so they're always my team, but what a lot of fun this is season has been.
My favs are Jason Ferguson, YBell, Ricky, CP, and Camarillo.
When I watch the game, I listen to the MadDog!!
Thank you Matty for all you do!
