I'm a old lady that's been a fan of NBA basketball since about 1985. My first favorite team was the Celtics, I loved the Chief Robert Parish. Next it was the New York Knicks, especially after they drafted Mark Jackson who I liked from St. John's. I was a Knick fan starting in 1987 until 2000 when they traded Latrell Sprewell. My favorite player, John Starks was long gone. One of my other favorite players and teams in the mid nineties was the Orlando Magic and Shaquille O'Neal. He was traded to the Lakers in '96 and so my eyes traveled west. I loved the Knicks and Lakers to win, but when they played each other I rooted for the Knicks. I started paying extra attention to the Lakers when they traded for Kobe on draft day. Took me a while to really notice him and by about '99, I was smitten. Just love those magicians! He turned into this amazing player and I had two favorite teams, which the guys say you can't have, but I rationalize it by saying that I lived in Cali for 6 years and am a native New Jerseyan, so I can have a split allegiance, although from the '99-00 season, I became a Laker fan 1rst! I totally missed any thoughts of the Knicks during the Isaiah years, just too damned awful. But I like to see them winning again and love that they got 2 legitimate stars in Stoudemire and Anthony, but thought that Raymond Felton, and Gallinari were fabulous for them. Now I live in Texas! (I know, a family thing)! And I'm a Laker fan, but was very happy the Mavs beat the dreaded Heat! And am thrilled that in the condition the Lakers were in this year, that they didn't meet those guys. And I hope the Lakers don't trade Pau Gasol. That's all, that's part of me.
