Explosive stuff. More reason to view the numbers with a grain of salt.

His argument: a team with the #1 offense and the #12 defense needs help on defense, not offense.

One minor note: by this metric, as well as others, Outlaw is much more effective as a 4.

Nate's short term thinking might be a real handicap going forward. He refuses to give some young players the consistent minutes needed to develop their talents and his confidence in them. At times, one mistake is enough to get them benched. Come the end of the year,we end up weaker than we had to be.

Blazer's Edge The medical/training staff has to be replaced!

For some reason, medical/training types often inspire a kind of irrational loyalty. However, let's look at his year's fiasco.

Oden: out of shape, overweight, underdeveloped in lower body and overdeveloped in upper body after a year of training,  (They said he did everything asked of him. Surely his leg muscles should have been well developed in order to protect his knees.)

Frye probably rushed back too soon.  (According to his comments at the end of the year.)

Webster came back too soon.  Loses an entire year to an ambiguous injury. Will he ever be the same?

Blake rushed back too soon.  Re-injured. Now facing serious surgery that could keep him out for six months. .(See Real GM forum for a discussion on this.)  This affects strategy for the entire summer.

One could add Aldridge. Rushed back after a concussion even though we know how dangerous they can be. Good luck, not good management, here.

All in all, a record of deplorable incompetence. Shades of the Bill Walton fiasco.

(There was also the complete lack of coordination between the coaches and the trainers re Oden. This speaks to an organizational failure that likely falls in KPs lap,)

Compare this to Phoenix, where their hotshot staff rejuvenated Shaq by using the latest techniques.

Recommendation: hire the best person available from Phoenix and start all over again. Failing that, hire at least one or two qualified new people. Failing the guts to do that, at least send our guys to a few seminars so they  can update their skills.

And in the future, fans should stop giving the docs and the trainers all the benefit of the doubt.  From Walton to Oden they have been screwing up.

This says that there was a Blake/Outlaw trade for Miller almost done at the deadline. Plus the comments include NY fans discussing Sergio.
