Florida DE Carlos Dunlap arrested for Drunk Driving
Florida DE Carlos Dunlap arrested for Drunk Driving
Lets see if Herban suspends him for SEC title game and Bowl game, I bet not!
It seems the Gaytors get a pass on all of their players transgressions with the law
Certainly this should disqualify Dunlap from playing in the SEC title game and a possible National Championship game. I'm sure Herban will brush this under the carpet

FSU needs to straighten this mess out soon or we wont finish in top 50 in 2010 recruiting rankings
Please recommend (rec) this post at the bottom of this page so it gets max exposure here
Our recruiting class is falling farther and father behind due to this current fiasco with Bobby Bowden. We are also not actively recruiting as much as other schools. There is an update on Tavaris Barnes where he states that he is now soft on FSU mostly since no one from FSU has communicated with him for over a month and a half.

No matter the outcome of the current situation it will be much more difficult to get back to the top as a program if we are not communicating with recruits.
In addition we have had two of our top recruits de-commit recently in Corey Miller and Ed Christenson and most of the recruits who were once considered leans to FSU are now wavering. This includes Lemarcus Joyner, Christian Jones and Christian Green. Even Darious Cummings is seriously looking at other schools.
Other schools are circling around out commits like sharks thrown fresh meat attempting to get them to de-commit by negatively recruiting against FSU.
Most schools and head coaches talk to/text their recruits daily or at least multiple times a week, with the Gators success and the revival of the Miami program this will be an even more competitive environment.
I am really concerned about recruiting since this is only way we can compete.
We are currently ranked 35th in Rivals for our 2010 class. There are more programs than not that are ahead of us in recruiting this year that do not have a rich tradition and have never won a national championship.
The University does have to make a firm decision soon regarding Bowden and the new contract with Jimbo so that we can battle the negative recruiting that other coaches are doing regarding FSU.
Look at the list of schools that are currently ranked ahead of FSU in the 2010 recruting rankings. This is totally unacceptable!
Stanford, Cal, North Carolina, Georgia Tech, Texas A&M ,NC State,Texas Tech, West Virginia, Oklahoma State, Washington, Pitt, Michigan State, Iowa, Minnesota, Maryland, UCLA, Kansas, Arizona State and South Carolina
For heaven’s sake we are tied with Utah
This is even worse than it appears since we are located in the best state for recruits.

Tavaris Barnes seriously looking at other schools
Tavaris Barnes soft on FSU committment has not heard from anyone on FSU's staff for a month and a half.
He is looking elsewhere, this is a major problem due to the disarray in this program caused by lack of leadership. Most other schools and coaches talk to their recruits daily or mutilple times during the week. How can we compete with this lack of attention to detail????
Bowden quoted in Miami Herald " What would I gain by stepping down"
Incredibly in a telling statement to the media after yet another debacle of a game Bowden stated the following in a question related to the calling for his head:
Bowden said " What would I gain by stepping down now? Fire the whole coaching staff? I'll evaluate myself; I'll wait until the end of the year"
In another words Bobby is admitting here that its all about him. He is only concerned about the effect on himself.
Well BB a news flash, its not about what you would gain but it should be about what the team and University and all of its supporters would gain by you stepping down. BB it should be what’s best for the university, you have gained enough. Its not about you, its about the University, boosters, alumni, students, players, recruits, etc.....
But to answer your question Mr Bowden if you did think of someone other than yourself for a change you would perhaps salvage your reputation and preserve your place in FSU history. Step down before you totally sully your memory with all those involved. Is it not enough to steal $2.5million just to be a jolly senile figurehead. While you are chucking with the media after yet another loss we here in seminole nation are hurting.
Unfortunately it has always been about you and your family. That's ok when we are winning and teaching the players integrity and making all of of the stakeholders proud but those days are gone. At least allow a new staff rebuild our image and get back on track with restoring our reputation and standing and maybe we can salvage a decent recruiting class which will be necessary to rebuild this program

Cristian Jones Interview on Tharinger
Does this mean FSU is no longer a leader for Jones?
"Florida, Oklahoma, and Southern Cal are starting to stick out." Jones offered. "At Florida, they’ve played well the past few years winning national championships so that’s attracting and at USC, they always have players coming in and getting drafted."
"I WAS a fan of Florida State," Jones said. "I have family down there and that’s the team I grew up watching."
