What are Freddie Tagaloa’s strengths as a player on the football field? Freddie is the prototypical left tackle. A player of Freddie’s caliber doesn’t come around very often. Of course we said the same thing when Jahvid Best played for the Pride. A player like Jahvid won’t come around again as Cal and the Detroit Lions found out, but here’s Freddie again as a left tackle w/ impressive size and technique. He projects very well on the offensive line as a left tackle at the next level. - Ben Enos, Contra Costa Times Reporter & Czar of Prep Football Follow Ben @ East Bay Prep Corner and Twitter CGB is your place to find out more about your Class of 2012 Golden Recruits on Wednesdays.

How would you compare Shaq's skill set with that of his brother Syd? I think the world of Syd and he’ll frown when he reads this, but Shaq will love it and say, "All true!" Syd was a national recruit because of his speed, skills, desire. Shaq is a national recruit and he’s taller, faster, stronger than his brother and idol. Not sure Syd could guard Shaq if Shaq was a receiver and it was 4th and 10, last play. Be fun to watch. Of course, Syd will tell you he’d lock kid brother up. Follow Joe @ Preps Plus, SacBee, and Twitter Check back w/ CGB tomorrow to learn more about Shaq Thompson, the newest verbal commit of your California Golden Bears!

How would you define your running style? What other running backs would you compare yourself to? I’m 210lbs. I can be this power back in certain situations, but I’m more of a nifty shifty guy. I have a lot of people say that I can make you miss in a phone booth. One of my friends called me. He told me that Russell White says he loves my vision and that he loves that I can make a man miss. Russell White was a great back from Cal in the 90s, and he was comparing me to JJ and Marshawn. Hearing that from him is a huge compliment and I just don’t want to let nobody down. - CJ Anderson, Running Back, California Golden Bears Class of 2011 The future is bright folks. Stick w/ CGB Monday and Tuesday to learn more about CJ, a Bay Area kid who is intelligent, eloquent, and most of all a Golden Bear!

How does Bryce Treggs feel about his family legacy? Does he feel any pressure living up to his dad Brian "Trigger" Treggs who was passionate, competitive, and bigger than life on the Golden Bears squad? I don’t believe Bryce is afraid of anything. His father helps coach him, and he admires and embraces his father’s legacy. - Eric Sondheimer, LA Times Reporter - High School Sports Follow Eric @ LA Times Preps, Varsity Times Insider, and Twitter Check back w/ CGB to learn more about Bryce Treggs!

16
Bryce McGovern accumulated huge stats, but he was in a pass-happy offense in Monte Vista. Is he as talented as his numbers showcase him to be? What you have to understand about McGovern is that he’s just a football player, plain and simple. When I talked to Monte Vista coach Craig Bergman about him, Bergman called McGovern the best pure player he’s ever had. That tells me all I need to know, considering the caliber of that program. McGovern isn’t going to be the biggest guy on the field, but I think there’ll always be a spot in college football for a guy with those kinds of skills. He’s just a really, really good football player. - Ben Enos, Contra Costa Times Reporter & Czar of Prep Football Follow Ben @ East Bay Prep Corner and Twitter Starting next Wednesday, CGB will be your place to find out more about your Class of 2012 Golden Recruits.
