A's Likely to Move? Regarding Selig's Comments Today
According to a report by ESPN, Bud Selig is saying it is up to Lew Wolff to consider additional options for a new ballpark. Asked if he would approve a move by the A's, he said it would depend on where.

Yahoo is coming out with a similar story that seems to imply that Selig believes A's should explore options outside of the Bay Area.
Is the end of the A's to San Jose? Living in the South Bay, I have been crossing my fingers really hard for a San Jose move. If they instead move out of the Bay Area, this would really sting.
This raises a lot of questions. Are the A's going to stay in the Bay Area? Where might the A's explore moving to outside of San Jose? What do you think are now the odds that the A's move to San Jose?

As people have been saying in the thread, it looks like this is just a continuation of the Status Quo.
Deadline Trades A's Should Make (According to ESPN)
There are a lot of question to where the A's stand at the deadline and if they sell, it doesn't appear they have many trading chips outside of Wuertz and Sheets. On ESPN Insider, Writer Christina Kahrl proposes 5 trades that should happen.

Revisited: Eveland potentially next haren
Back in December, I posted a short analysis of eveland and Cgon, putting up the possibility of Haren trade being Mulder trade part II with eveland and Cgon being the new Haren and barton in the trade. see link.
http://www.athleticsnation.com/2007/12/16/15449/582
The gist of the conventional wisdom at AN during that time was Eveland is fat and has some pretty good minor league numbers, but his major league numbers suck.
However, he has been pretty lights out in spring training and people are starting to take notice. He'll likely become the A's fifth starter, and if he carries on his spring training numbers into the regular season, he'll be a pretty damn good fifth starter.
1.20 ERA in 15 innings over four starts. "He just goes after hitters with a good fastball," outfielder Ryan Sweeney says. "And he has a really good front-door slider to left-handed batters."
And as I mentioned in my december post, he pitched well in the Mexican League. His recent numbers have been outstanding although they haven't exactly been in the regular season of the major leagues.
I personally think Eveland is going to shine this year. Not quite the ace, but good enough to make the Haren trade look brilliant.
So I have attached a poll here for you guys.
Eveland potentially the next Haren?
The first thing i did when I looked at the Haren trade was to see if it had the potential to be like the Mulder trade. So looking for this trade's "dan haren" and "daric barton", i find Dana Eveland and Carlos Gonzalez pretty intriguing.
Dana Eveland- Although he hasn't exactly been steller in the major leagues with his 1-0 record and 14.40 ERA, he has been pretty good in the minors. The thing is he's major league ready just like Dan Haren was, and he has put up some pretty decent stats in the Mexican Winter league. He is 3-2 with a 2.55 ERA in 13 games there, including a 10 strikeout 6 inning performance with an A's scout watching according to the following website:. (http://www.the-signal.com/?module=di...)
