Slightly OT-Why Sports Broadcasting Sucks
Not as big of news as Dunn or Konerko, but a casual little piece about how sports broadcasting really isn't satisfying, at all.

So, I saw Nate Silver speak the other day. The day started with him giving a lecture to the stats and math departments. This is where he got into the nitty-gritty of weighting variables and the problems of polls and what-not.
After that was dinner, which is where the fun begins.
6 commentsI'm having dinner with Nate Silver and listening to him lecture next week. It is mainly a methodologies of political science type thing, but I may be able to get a question or two in about baseball stats. Anything you think I should ask?

For those that care, Mark Buehrle won the Performance of the Year for his perfecto and Wise won best play of the year for the ninth inning catch.
I think the funniest part is Ellbury's -18.6 UZR nabbing him defensman of the year.
