Blogging The Boys Have Some Damn Pride!!!! (A Personal Call Out to the Cowboys' D)

You want the truth!!? For the past few years now the defense of the Dallas Cowboys has been Demarcus Ware and a few cameo appearances by this guy or that. Soft!! And every team in the league is starting to warm up to the idea ... "the Dallas Cowboys are SOFT!". Last week the Eagles tripled teamed Ware at times, and left every other "pass rusher" (and I use that term loosely) in single man to man blocking. Vick had all day! Soft! Soft! Soft!

A few weeks ago Brandon Jacobs ran to the Cowboys' star to do his "I am really desperate .. IN NEED of sexual contact!!" dance to, in all honesty, disrespect the Dallas Cowboys! Reminiscent of T.O.'s disrespectful attitude towards our team's symbol! How did the Cowboys big ugly respond? With a big ugly late game meltdown! Soft!

Our old friend Cris Canty rang in this week with a "I don't want to lose ..LIKE WE LOST THE LAST TIME I WORE A COWBOY UNIFORM!" Oh really?? Like he has really made a difference since he joined the Giants! He has great confidence to low ball his former team like that. Why? Because everyone views the Dallas Cowboys as softies! If not ..... it sure seems like it!

Even the Giants old retired players are calling out the Cowboys as lacking "mental toughness". Comon L.T., we respect your game, your old-school toughness, and your relentless approach to every play ... that even we as Cowboys fans would expect nothing less than you to say it as is and stop beating around the bush with these newer politically correct terms like "lack mental toughness" ... the Dallas Cowboys are soft! Just say it! But although Taylor didn't want to speak about a more-than-likely drug induced sexual incident with a young teenage girl that was being forced into prostitution, he did have the gall to speak about the Dallas Cowboys! Shows you how much respect this team gets when a retired admitted drug addict/sexual deviant is PROUD enough to make his opinion known about how much better the Giants are than the Cowboys. Sad!

This week Mr. "I Am Desperate" himself, Brandon Jacobs (and a side note here, I don't see how one player is fined and penalized for flapping like an Eagle, but another gets off clean performing a filthy-ugly sexually preverted dance after a touchdown .. kids watch these games ... makes no sense), thrashes the heart and sole of who the Dallas Cowboys are. Jacobs proclaims that the Cowboys' fan base is loud and obnoxious! I don't know, maybe its me, but isn't that the way all fans are and are supposed to be. Mr. "Maybe I Should Use the Football as a Prop Next Time B/C It Might Feel A Little Better" just has NO RESPECT for the players wearing the star on their helmets! None!!

At what point are the Cowboys players gonna stop wearing dresses and start acting like grown men?? Every body is taking shots at you! At your manhood! Time and time again ... you put a dress on and play like a bunch of women! Can't blame the offense! They score points rather emphatically! Its Demarcus Ware and a bunch of softies! Every one else has noticed. So much so that almost no one cares about any repercussions for calling you out! The Cowboys defense is like the little boy who got bullied at school and cried in a corner .... and gave up his lunch even before anyone even told him he had to give it up.

Have some damn pride!! I said it (in this more-and-more politaclly correct era)! I said what most all Cowboys' fans around these part have been attempting to say, yet trying to be "nice" and still keep hope! I am saying it loud and clear (possibly even being obnoxious about it)! Have some damn pride!! Because I'll be damned if I watch Brandon Jacobs, or any other player for that matter, treat that star like his personal b!#$h!!! It is time to man the hell up and play like you want something!!

Blogging The Boys In Romo I Trust

Say what you will Giants fans, and Eagles fans alike, truth is, the best quarterback in the NFC East wears a star on his helmet .... bar none!

Many New Yorkers harp on that saying "Eli won a ring" when it comes to this debate. Yet did Eli win that Super Bowl or was it more of the team around him? As I recall it was the Giants' surging running attack, a healthy offensive line, and their defense that stepped up and put massive pressure on opposing quarterbacks during that four game playoff stretch that thrusted New York a top the league. All of these were bigger factors than Eli's play contributing to the Giants' Super run. In fact in the NFC Championship game and Super Bowl combined, Manning looked more like Trent Dilfer (a guy "driving the bus") than a Super Bowl MVP. Manning was 40-74 (54%) with 506 yards (6.8 yards per att.) , 2 touchdowns 1 interception. Is that elite? Still, Giants fans will ride this magic carpet as long as it will take them, but the truth is Romo is simply better and has done more with less protection around him.

For the first years of Romo's rein as Cowboys quarterback, he dealt with the same offensive line that nearly got Drew Bledsoe pummeled week in and week out. Tony was scrambling for his life with a make shift offensive line, and creating opportunities with his feet and heart. Never seen Eli do that! Never seen Eli have to do that. Dallas' defenses during Romo's career here, have been less than stellar too. Hence there is more pressure on Tony to do more for the Cowboys to win consistently. Yet Romo has stood his ground, done more, and has put the Boys into situations to win a lot of games during his career.

Statistically, Romo puts a thumping end to the debate. He completes a higher percentage of his passes for a better yards per attempt. He has 147 touches with 80 ints, while Manning sours with 181 and 128. Every single category is owned by Romo... convincingly! Romo has accomplished this with consistent offensive line problems for pretty much his entire career, while Eli has had one of the best O-lines for a big stretch in his time in New York.

Michael Vick? Well he has a lower completion percentage than Eli, and while Vick and Manning are both nearly a yard off from Tony's average yards per attempt, Vick's interceptions and fumbles often cause him to be a liability. While Philadelphia critics will say "Romo chokes in big situations", Vick has had worse games in big spots and just doesn't produce as consistently as Romo. Eagles lose games as Michael Vick does his best Harry Houdini disappearing act in games the Eagles needed to win. No bigger games this year for Philadelphia than Buffalo and Arizona and Vick combined for 2 touchdowns and 6 interceptions. These are games the Eagles had to have! Vick just isn't consistent enough to validate being a better player than Romo.

Yet I bring this "debate" up, not because our beloved Cowboys play the Eagles and Giants for all the NFC East marbles in the upcoming weeks, but actually, its because for the first time I can remember Tony Romo has an offensive line in front of him keeping him upright. For the first time in Romo's career Dallas is running the ball without smoke and mirrors. These two factors have escalated Romo into the "elite" quarterback discussion! In fact, you take away the 5 games were Tony played with injections into his injured ribs, and he has 23 touchdowns to 3 interceptions this season. Poor line play and Romo's high risk/high reward playing style has been the object of our ire for the Romo era. But man!!!! Watching this guy have protection (FINALLY!) and picking teams apart the past few weeks, I can't help but think big things for this team! Tony Romo is with no doubt a better quarterback than many give him credit for. Elite? Yes! Super Bowl caliber? No doubt! ..... All I ask is that Jason Garrett lets him go out and win a Super Bowl, rather than collar him and attempt to not lose games in the upcoming weeks. We have grown accustom to "playing it safe" this season, and continuing to do so would be an injustice to Romo and the players on this team. Romo throws one of the prettiest deep balls in the league. He is accurate in the middle of the field. His feet allow him to move the pocket and allows receivers to get down field. Let him carry this team!

The offense's ability to run (and man do I love what Sammy Morris adds to this team) a good fullback, and an o-line playing well... it all makes Romo that much more dangerous late in games. With the way the line is playing, I am not slightly worried about putting games in Romo's hands with the lead late in games. If the defense can step up and the players on this team just decide to play their best (focused and emotional) six games of their careers, the Cowboys have as good a shot as any! Either way .... I want to live or die with Tony Romo. There is nothing like being a fan of a team and watching a particular player (or players) take harsh criticism (whether deserved or not) and watching them grow and overcome the nay-sayers ... and prove the critics wrong. Lets go Romo!!

Lets go Cowboys!!

Blogging The Boys An Old Foe at the Right Time?

As we prepared for last Sundays game against the Jets, a lot of hype surrounded the Ryan twins. The older of the two, Rex, aptly pointed out that it would be difficult for his dad Buddy to cheer for the his brother's Cowboys. "Come on its the Cowboys", he pointed out, eluding to father Buddy's days as the Philadelphia Eagles head coach and the heated rivalry that ensued against Dallas during his dad's tenure in the "City of Brotherly Love". As much as I despised Buddy during those days, Sunday I was rooting for the guy who has been stricken with cancer. His son is now part of the Cowboy family, and from the looks of it (D-Ware moving around and the defense playing inspired), I hope he is around in Big D for some time.

If we can learn to love a Ryan, I mean come on he's a Ryan, why can't we bring in another once hated foe?

Blogging The Boys Respects to Wade

For a longtime I had been one of the biggest Wade bashers. My frustration had boiled over at times this year, and a lot of that is due to nothing being done about the team, and how they were playing. At times I called the man names, and attempted to draw the ire of many fans here. It was clear that many Cowboy fans had a higher tolerance of Phillips than I ever had.

For me, I thought Wade was the wrong choice from the very beginning. When the Boys started off strong under his leadership, I was adamant that Jerry still had the wrong guy. To sit back and watch for 4 years a team go from perennial contenders to what they showed this season was trying. It was extremely difficult! Wade lost this team a loooooong time ago, and I was mad that others didn't see it the same way I did.

Blogging The Boys When is Enough Enough? Lets Hand the Reigns to Garrett

Its not working!! Its that simple, Wade Phillips is not working. There is no reason to keep him one single day longer!! JUST CUT HIM LOOSE!!!!!!!!!!

Now, I am not gonna say at this point that the team will turn around, but I will guarantee, the simple subtraction of Wade will get the team playing better!! This guy is lost and has been lost for 4 years!!! I for one want to see what Garrett can do differently.

While this has been the most frusterating 4 years I have ever had to endore as a sports fan, all is not lost if you cut Phillips NOW. My reasons for getting rid of the clown now:

#1 Dave Campo is a fiery coach, and maybe he can light a fire under the defense. In any case, any type of emotion from a coach is a good thing. Hoefully he benches Brady James!!

#2 Garrett looked disgusted at Phillips late in the game last night ... starting to see the cracks here. Keeping Wade is only gonna lose everybody in the locker room, even the good coaches and good players that are here.

#3 Rock bottom is rock bottom. This team can't get worse, but they certainly can stay at, well, rock bottom. why stay this course?

#4 There is still young talent on this team, that will be in Dallas for a while. Lets get Dez and others some gas in their engines for the future.

#5 They have a game next week!! One game at a time from here!! And hey, you never know, but staying with Wade, we all can only expect the same effort.

Blogging The Boys Trust in Wade!!!!

I will tell you keeping Wade around is really gonna help this team. Jerry made a sound decision hiring Phillips and now staying loyal is just "the right thing" to do. Getting rid of Wade sends a bad message!! ..... blah blah blah blah

Dallas might as well forfeit the rest of their games!!! Wade Phillips has taken a talent-laden team, and turned them into a bunch of marshmalloweating softies. Embarrassing!!! Before the game Monday night, Steve Young explained that the Cowboys seem to be a team that haven't practiced with any urgency, no sharpness in a long time. They have played like that under Wade for a long time as well!!

I say get rid of Wade at this point just because we are all tired of this crap!! I am soooooooooo tired of seeing this clown on the Boys sideline!!! At least with the idiot gone, I can tolerate a game.

Blogging The Boys Bozo The Clown Lives!

I knew this would get everyone's attention. I just wanted to say for the millionth time ..... Wade Phillips sucks and the Cowboys will suck so long as he is coach!!!

If Wade and Rex Ryan were friends and went out for drinks: Wade would buy the hottest woman drinks all night ...... but Rex would go home with her.

Had Wade ever been fortunate enough to coach Michael Irvin, "The Playmaker" would have had Phillips by the coller in his office, yelling, "You gonna get out of this office and keep on walking!!!! ...... You are weak!!" And Phillips would have put his tail in between his legs and ket it moving.

Let's say Wade tried out for this season's Survivor, he would have conspired to get rid of Jimmy Johnson. And after the votes were read, he would (in his usual delayed confused way) look up at the stars and pump his fist as if to say "holy crap, we just did that?" (Sound familiar?)

Blogging The Boys Save the Season Now!

Okay, so the Cowboys are 1-3. Maybe the people who cursed the team when they hired Wade Phillips, including myself, were right. But what to do now?

The solution to me is simple, and has been staring us all in the face for two years now. No not Bill Cowher! Let's not bring back Jimmy either!

Blogging The Boys Keepin It Real

I can not believe what this site has become this week.

First, Rafael writes a darn good break down on the game between the Vikings and the Cowboys ... in case you forgot, there is a game scheduled for Sunday. A pretty big one at that! The entire thread to discuss the game is quickly twisted into a hate blog against Minnesota fans. It all but overshadowed Raf's original breakdown of the game.

Then Fish gives his regular twist to the game and keeps some of us honest and keeps us thinking outside the box ... and the posts there are filled with backlash and anger.

As I wonder about through Super Bowl Nation, I see Cowboys fans gnashing their teeth at the Daily Norseman and placing themselves on pedestals at Bleeding Green. Are you all for real? .. Karma is a bitch, and I hope it bites you all in the ass and not these Cowboys!

I don't get it! The biggest game this team has played in years ... and you got people reverting to worrying about what the Viking's fans are doing, rubbing Eagle's fans noses in it, and harshly critiquing the writers.

Can we just stick to FOOTBALL! ......

Blogging The Boys Scouting the Vikings

For some reason, probably because of the Brett Favre factor, the Vikings were on TV a lot this season. In those telivised games, I recall opportunities for opponents to get some big plays. Some teams took advantage, while others did not. Will the same opportunities present themselves for the Cowboys this weekend? I don't know for sure, but usually teams are a product of habit. So let us review some of Minnesota's tendencies:

1.) Jared Allen's pursuit -Now Allen is an excellent football player and his hustle is rarely ever matched, still on a few plays this season his aggressive nature opened up the door for opposing offenses. Allen has a tendency to follow down on running plays to the offense's right side. Meaning he abandons contain and opens up a left side play.

Earlier in the year, I recall an offense running a reverse to Allen's side. The offense faked right, as the line blocked right. Allen was the back side pursuer and was up field by the time the reverse was heading the other way. The play went for about 7-10 yards, but if the receiver broke one tackle, it was touchdown all the way. The same team ran the same exact play 2 plays later with similar results. This tells me that Minnesota is content with Allen's back side pursuit. Because of the production Jarrad gets pursuing runs to the opposite side, they will take their chances leaving the left side uncontained.

Later in the season I saw Carolina use a different approach to attacking Allen. This in the passing game. The Panthers ran a screen to Allen's side, but rather than the usual LT allowing the DE in and pulling out to block, Carolina kept the LT in to block Allen, and used their interior linemen to set up a wall for Johnathan Stewart. Allen's radar said pass, so he pinned back his ears. Nothing the LT did said screen, so he kept rushing. By the time the play was set up, Allen was at least 10 yards away from Stewart, and the play went for 10-12 yards.

If Dallas can improvise some plays to take advantage of Allen's agressiveness, expect them to be big plays.

More after the jump ....

Blogging The Boys How to "Improve"

After the game on Sunday, Tony Romo was quick to respond to Pam Oliver, "We still have a lot of improvements to make."

Most Cowboy fans shook that off, because they were basking in the glory of a 24-0 victory, but I am quite glad that statement came from Romo himself. When I look at the numbers and recollect some of the plays of the game, there are things to get better at. Let us review:

1.) Right before one of the Eagles "almost" big plays, Dallas was confused. Carpenter ran from the right side of the defence to the left, and another player was pushing a defender towards the slot receiver. In any event there was mass confusion.

SOLUTION: Call a time out. Its playoff time and teams are going to give new looks and new sets. If the defense is puzzled, a coach or player needs to call a time out.

2.) On offense it was a dropped pass by Bennett and a seemingly out of position Roy Williams that stalled Dallas drives. Bennett couldn't reel in the slant that was thrown a bit high. While Williams forced the Cowboys to settle for a FG, after not being able to release on man on man coverage.

SOLUTION: Less of Williams and Bennett might be in the cards. Romo targeted rookie free agent, Kevin Ogletree, twice. Tony missed Ogletree on a post pattern, where he was open for a probable TD. Ogletree also caught an out for 15 yards. Williams had one target, one incompletion, as did Bennett. John Phillips, another TE/FB, was targeted twice, with two receptions and 14 yards. Romo's stat line read 24-34, but I counted three balls that went incomplete where Romo threw it away or checked it down to a covered Barber. You take away the 2 targets to Williams and Bennett and the 3 passes that will call "good" incompletions, and Romo was 24-29 with 2 TDs and 1 INT for 311 yards.

3.) Suisham's missed field goal.

SOLUTION: I really don't have an answer. I will say this, in the misses I have seen of him this season, both Dallas and the Skins left him out on the hashes. If we are going for a big FG, I would really recomend getting in the middle of the field. Suisham has a solid leg, but his directional kicking seems poor.

4.) The defense has been tremendous, so can't complain about much. Wade has mixed it up and Dallas has been successful against some big play offenses, still we have seen some plays were the Boys allow for a short cross to go for big gains. Teams have done an exceptional job at clearing the middle of the field by running at our LBs, and crossing a receiver underneath.

SOLUTION: Again there really is no answer because Wade has mixed it up to the point of great success. But I expect the Eagles to "go to the well" with crossing patterns. So to temper them and give another look, I'd expect a zone blitz with the slot CB rushing in. Phillips has used this before against teams that are pass heavy and use crossing patterns frequently (see Green Bay and New Orleans).

Well these are my thoughts, what about yours?

Blogging The Boys Don't Make the Same Mistake as the 2001 St. Louis Rams

I recall vividly saying to myself "the Rams are in trouble", the minute the New England Patriots were announced as a TEAM, instead of being announced individually. The Rams, coached by Mike Martz, were overconfident. They thought they had won the Super Bowl, just by showing up. A 14 point favorite and suiting up the NFL's MVP in Warner, who orchastrated "The Greatest Show on Turf", the Rams were in for a rude awakening.

St. Loius was by far the more talented team. On this day, though, it would not matter. As Bill Bellichick used it all to have his team prepared. It was his greatest coaching performance in his career. He had all his guys thinking that they were being disrespected, that their backs were up against the wall. Media darlings gave New England "no shot". The Pats came out and out-hit and out played the Rams before St. Louis even knew there was a game being played. They led 17-3 heading into the 4th quarter, when Martz's Rams finally showed up, but too late.

I hope this team heeds this warning. Keep focus!

Trust me, Reid will use everything to put his guys back to the wall. He is that good of a coach. Dallas can not sleep at all in this game. ... Be humble. Play your game. Everything else will fall in place.

Lets go Cowboys! Keep focus!

Blogging The Boys Its Time to "Cowboy Up!"

The year was 2003. It was October and a little known baseball player (at the time), stood up in the locker room at Fenway Park and started something that may go down as one of the greatest rallying cries of all time. He didn't call out a teammate or blame his coaches, no, Kevin Millar stood in front of the media microphones and said, "It is time for ME to Cowboy up!" With that self reflection, Red Sox nation had something other than years of demise to grab onto, and in a innocuous way almost forgot about the 85 year old "curse" that had haunted New England when it came to the National Pastime. They had their rally cry! Boston would not exercise their demons until a year later, but individual accountability and TEAM accountability resonated with that group who would become Champions, and the rally cry "Cowboy Up" will always be remembered.

Stories like this always seem to remind me of my favorite Cowboy of all time. To understand, you have to know that it is true that during the '92, '93, and '95 Super Bowl seasons, the Dallas Cowboys had their dog days. They lost some big games (even in December), but there was always one guy who didn't let the confidence slip .. didn't let the "Dallas Cowboy swagger" fade. Michael Irvin played like every game was his last, and his persona spread like wildfire throughout those championship teams. Like a message engraved on my soul, I recall an interview Emmitt Smith did when he spoke of his rookie season how Michael Irvin approached him and told him, "We ain't gonna be losers .. not today .. not while I am on this team!" ... Boy I miss our "Playmaker" and all he brought to the locker room.

This years Cowboys play like they are expecting something bad to happen .. they play like ghost of Christmas's Pasts haunt their every December game. Something tells me, though, that if this team hits their stride, gets that swagger,  they too can exercise their demons, and can win it all ..First, they need to find their "Playmaker", the leader who says, "We ain't losing today!"

There is a guy in that locker room, but I don't know if he knows it yet. He has played excellent football all year. For all of you who sit at the edge of your seats on Sundays and cheer for our Cowboys, there would be no greater finish to his story than having him hold up the Lombardi trophy come February. .. And yes I am talking about Tony Romo. He is my guy! Its easy to root for a guy from a small college with the odds against him .. its easy to cheer for an underdog .. a player, who has been unjustly criticized, to finally have his day in the sun. Right now, though, is time for Tony to step up. What he has done on the football field .. I have no complaints. Today .. he needs to step up and be a leader. He needs to put all the pressures of this December and Decembers passed and place them squarely upon his shoulders. Nothing would resonate more, in that locker room, than Romo, the team's leader, going public, taking all the pressure off his team and placing it upon himself, and declaring that this team will win .. even to guarantee it .. "We will win in the playoffs! .. and if I were another team in the playoffs, I wouldn't want to play the Dallas Cowboys!"  He will juice up the guys who have struggled through their collapses, because its not a coach, nor the owner, but one of their own who stuck their neck out for them, as there is no greater bond in sports than one player putting his reputation on the line for his teammates. Romo is ready ... this team is ready ... and his words will be our rally cry!

Blogging The Boys Sound the Alarm Bells!! (part 2)

Just the other day, I viewed the highlights to the 2007 Divisional Playoff game ... all I was left with was an overwhelming disappointment as I kept asking myself "what if ...?" I remember how disappointed I felt after that Divisional Playoff game. Watching the Giants beating the 16-0 Patriots, later that year, couldn't help but feel that it should have been us. Its sad, but I almost expected to lose last year with the Eagles. It was difficult watching my favorite football team lose their manlihood. Their pride was stepped on. Their egos were battered. Tough times for a Dallas Cowboy fan.

We all remember .. Eli Manning taking a knee at the twenty with 9 seconds on the clock ..

I am quite sure we all recall .. forty-four to six!!

Think about it ... this is who the Dallas Cowboys are. Everyone remembers the collosal collapses. From the players to the coaches to the owner to the fans ... 44-6 resounds and repeats and repeats in our memories.

We all fear December ... whether we admit it or not, we all fear it. We all fear what the ending of our season will bring. Yet we watch with anticipation, like watching a good horror film with our hands over our eyes, but constantly slipping a peak through the cracks between our fingers to see what happens next.

We are sure "44-6" is who the Cowboys are by the way we, the fans, act. For instance, when you get in a heated exchange with your buddy who cheers for the G-men or just some random Eagles fan at the bar you frequent. You start off pounding your chest and say things like, "How 'bout those first place Cowboys!" But once the Giants fan grasps his Adam's apple (as to say "your Boys" are gonna choke), or the Eagles fan throws out that dreaded score (oh that dreaded score!) .. your head falls and you half-heartedly say, "Well we'll get them this year." .. "Romo is gonna choke!" is so branded into our heads, that even the strong-hearted Cowboys fans have lost faith.

There have been plenty who have come down this road, though. .. Isaah's Pistons .. Elway's Broncos .. Manning's Colts. Guys, and teams, who just were never gonna get over the hump. These great players all had their own demons, that were larger than life. Elway had the Super Bowl .. Manning the Patriots .. etc. etc. The critics and pundits echo their small-mindedness, when it comes to the '09 Cowboys, because we all know "Romo's Cowboys will never win a Championship" either. Heck they are not even gonna win a playoff game. Its never gonna happen because it hasn't happened yet. The so called "experts" say so, just like they said Elway could never win the BIG ONE. Boy I wish I had a dollar every time the Mike Franscesas and self-proclaimed sports experts of the world were wrong. (Franscesa is a New York sports radio personality, for those who don't know of him .. and an arrogant Giants fan)

It was a wiser man than your average sports pundit who pondered the greater aspect of failure and losing. Abraham Lincoln, during a time of the U.S's despair once thought aloud about failure, (and I swear to you a sign on the wall above the exit to the Cowboys' locker room should hang there saying the same), "My greatest concern is not whether you have failed, but whether you are content with failure."

You see, its not us, its not some guy on TV or on the radio behind a microphone .. It is the Dallas Cowboys who need to ... remember how they felt after that Divisional Playoff game ... how bad that off-season hurt ... it’s the Dallas Cowboys … who need to think long and hard about the sting of 44-6 ... and ask themselves "are THEY content with that" … are THEY content with another long summer of thinking about “what if ..?”

Use the past as your mirror .. and you will find the real you. .. Romo's Cowboys have failed ... but they are far from content with it! .. On a November night in Philadelphia they showed me exactly who they are .. They will show the rest of the world who they are on a February night in Miami.

Blogging The Boys Roy - Your Dirty Laundry Stinks!

We all went through it last year ... a divided locker room ... the finger pointing. Heck, we still have the "player" in Buffalo trying to point the finger at his old quarterback.

That is why Roy Williams' comments this week are all the more frustrating. With the team seemingly playing together for the first time in a long time, Roy wants to air out his personal frustration via the media. I think all Cowboy Nation gasped at first sight of Roy E. Williams' suggestive comments that his quarterback is to blame for his poor stats.

To me, there is only one thing to do: BENCH ROY!

Not that Williams' claims do not have any merit, they may, they might not. We could probably debate who is at fault, with good points on both sides, but right and wrong is not the point here. After a season were the locker room became divided by a certain "player" airing out his and the team's dirty laundry ... continuing that trend is not the answer.

The Cowboys as an organization have to make a statement that they will not tolerate this ... and benching Roy for a half or so might give him food for thought.
