I've been thinking about this a lot lately and I was just wondering what everyone else thought. Now I know none of these players are really underrated to us (as sens fans) but I mean who do you think would be the most underrated player to another teams fans? So if you walked up to another teams fan in a city other than Ottawa and asked about a certain player they would most likely say "who?" even though they are probably awesome to us.

My top choices are Daugavins, O'Brien and Condra but I think that O'Brien is the most underrated Senator (Plus he's so awesome!).

Anyways, let me know what you think and why.

I call it: The creepy way I met some of the Ottawa Senators or The greatest Moment of my Life Thus Far (you can choose which one you like better and I will post my picture in the fanshots section after I am done).

OK. So. I was at the Senators game with my girlfriend (wearing our sens jersey, of course... to which we got yelled at throughout the game... and there was a chant going on for about the last two minutes in my section saying I should take off my hat). After the game I drove her home. We were driving up the road which goes to the airport and we happen to see two tour buses going up the same road. So my girlfriend and I start joking about how it might be the Senators, and how crazy that would be. So after a while of this my girlfriend says: "why don't we follow them to the airport and see"... so we did! (Creepy I know... but it turns out well!).

So we get to the airport and have the car in the loading zone a fair ways away from the tour buses and it is impossible to make out any faces from the crowd so I go in for a closer look. Sure enough I see Cowen! and Rundblad! and Maclean! and I realize that this is them! So I ask if they can hold on for a minute and if I can get some pictures and I am told that they are in a hurry and won't be able to (I believe it is the person in the back left of the picture I'm going to post but I'm not sure... no idea who he is but Cowen and Runblad were listening to him and walked away when he said they had no time).

So I accept this (for now) and I figure I can say "good game" to some of the players as they pass by (I remember Winchester, Karlsson, and Konopka who was the only one who replied as opposed to just smiling). Then I see Alfie! I've been a fan of his for as long as I can remember and my instincts took over. I ran as fast as I could to the car to get my girlfriend and her camera (leaving the car in jeopardy of a towing...). So we both run into the terminal and manage to find Alfredsson in line to get checked in. So I run up to him and told him I was a fan of his and a huge Sens fan (and this was all too much... I'm pretty sure I said "holy shit" at least 8 times during the minute or so this was happening).

Some of the other guys on the team were there and they were laughing at how excited I was. I specifically remember Spezza, Winchester, and Anderson who were close by. There was even a comment about how I even had a Sens jersey on (my Alfredsson one, of course). Looking back I wish I had: a. introduced myself (in all my excitement I appear to have left my manners elsewhere) and b. at least asked if there were any markers about and if he would sign my jersey (because that is basically the only thing that could have made my night any better). I intend to carry a sharpie with me at all times now. But hindsight is a bitch I guess...

Anyways, I managed a few overly excited words with Alfie and he shook my hand and let me take a picture with him! He was a really nice guy (not that I expected otherwise) and I hope he realizes that he pretty much made the greatest moment of my life!

Well, I hope some of you found this to be funny... not only creepy on my part! I would post a picture in this but I do not know how. So, as said earlier, you will find it in the fan shots section shorty. And I apologize for writing a book here...

I got to see the Medicine Hat Tigers and Brandon Wheat Kings in game 4 of the WHL playoffs in Winnipeg and I figured I'd post something about Stone and Hamilton.

I was cheering for the Wheat Kings so I will start with Mark Stone. He played really well this game and picked up two powerplay assists (in reality one was a goal he tipped, but they didn't seem to notice... and I was right behind the net and it hit his stick for sure). He played every PP and even manned the point for one. His job on the PP was to hang out around the other teams blue line when the puck gets dumped (you can see him doing this in one of the pictures). He also played a fair amount on the PK. Stone ended the night with 2 assists and a -1 but I was impressed. The Wheat Kings blew a 4-1 lead and lost 4-5 with 25 seconds left in the game. It was not Stones fault it was the entire team... they just stopped skating.

Wacey Hamilton was the biggest surprise of the game for me. He is the captain on the Tigers and was noticeable every time he was on the ice. He played every PP and every PK. How nobody noticed him before this year is beyond me. He worked his ass off every single shift and even played well when he was showing obvious signs of being tired. I wish I could find something that mentioned his ice time in this game.

Anyways, I just figured I would let everyone know how these players are doing and I am really excited for both of these players.

I also got a few pictures on my phone (not the greatest pictures). One of them has both Stone and Hamilton:

I would also like to mention one more player. There has been a lot of talk about trading a first round draft pick for a younger player and if it became possible to get this guy I would definitely want the Sens to take a look at getting him. This player is Emerson Etem. Ended the night with 3 points (1G 2A) and was probably the most impressive player there tonight. He played extremely smart defense and was great on the PP and PK. He was also a huge part of the comeback (with Hamilton). It would be difficult to snag a local like Etem from Anaheim, but like I said, if it were a possibility I would be extremely happy to get a player like this for the Senators.

I don't know how people feel about the current Sens third jersey, but I absolutely despise it. I've been collecting jerseys since I was able to get a job (and have the money to buy jerseys) and I just refuse to purchase the current third jerseys.

I was extremely excited to find out about the possibility of a new third jersey, more specifically one that could potentially have a 'retro' feel to it. Anyone heard anything about the new third jersey besides speculation?
