No Rondo, good?
The past 2 games Rondo hasnt played, and I beleive we are playing better.
Without the Rondo-ego in the game, other Celtic players have shown up and stepped up! I really think Rondo is holding us back. Sure he is better than any other PG we have, and he is very good and does a lot of awesome things. But from a team perspective, he has got to go! Trade him for an equally good but better fit PG. Not sure who I might add!
Whats everyone else think?
Celtic History - Game 7's
Celtic's fan will like this...
- In NBA history, the Finals have gone to a Game 7, 16 times!
- Of those 16 times, the Celtics have appeared in a Game 7, 7 times!
- Of those 7 appearances, the Celtics have won all 7 times, or 100% of the time!
- In addition, the Celtics have played the Lakers, 4 times in a Finals Game 7!
- And the Celtics beat them, 4 times!
Food for thought!
Certainly encouraging!
Celtics v Lakers 2008 Finals - DVD
Hey,
Just wondering where I can buy the games from the 2008 Finals, on DVD or even better, Blu-ray.
I currently have the games on DVD from Pontel, but the quality is atrocious. It is worse then 1980 TV quality. So I have been looking for a replacement, but cannot find anything. Celtics.com has a set that could be alright, but they dont offer any picture samples, so I could end up buying the same thing as I already have.
Just wondering if anyone knows of where I can buy these games from, that they know is good quality. I am assuming it was filmed in HD, so if i could get a HD version, id be ecstatic!
Keeping in mind however, I am in Australia and will need to purchase this online.
Regards,
CROWD BE LOUD!
Well, I live in Australia and cant attend tonights game, and I dont know how many of you guys make it to the game either. But one thing I know the crowd needs to be tonight is, LOUD! VERY LOUD!
Every bad referee call: "BULL-S***....BULL-S***"
Every time Howard gets the ball or hurts Rondo: "HOW-ARD SUCKS"
Whenever Nelson has the ball, free throws: "RON-DOS BETTER...RON-DOS BETTER"
Rondo shooting free throws: "MVP...MVP"
"WE WANT LA"
"BEAT LA"
And at the end of the game: "NA-NAR NA-NA-NAR-NAR..GOOOD-BYEEE"
AND BE LOUD! AND DON'T LET UP, ALL GAME LONG!
This is our contribution!
Lets do it!
Celtics Back Broken
I have seen it all before, in the NBA, but more often in other sports. When a team has a game (and loss) like Game 5, that is it, their back is broken. They are going to have a very rough time to get back up and be competitive, real tough time! The Celtics will be going into Game 6, utterly demoralised. It is so much more than just a 20-odd point loss, they got banged up, two players with concussion, one teched out, another with a bad back and then the superstar playing on fumes!
To compound this, the Magic are rolling. They have adjusted to the Celtics defense, and there is very little the Celtics can do now to stop it. And the Celtics offense is dumbfounded as to how to get a score. They have been completely embarrassed, they can play 'together' all they want, but it is not enough.
If Perk doesn't get a tech rescinded, then the Celtics will lose Game 6, and if they lose Game 6, its all over for the 2009/10 season!
The Game the Celtics HAD to Lose
What is every ones thoughts on this?
I believe that Game 4 vs Orlando, the game the Celtics lost, was the game they HAD to lose. I think this because after beating Miami, Beating Lebron and the Cavs and now having gone 3-0 (now 3-1) over the rolling Orlando Magic - it would have given some Celtics players a bit of a big head. Breeding complacency, and the thought they are unbeatable.
So by having lost this game, it will bring them back down to earth a little, get their heads straight, as they go into the Finals....
Thoughts?
Ray Ray to Stay
Marc J. Spears and Adrian Wojnarowski, have predicted that Ray Allen wont be traded before the deadline!!!
This is to be expected I believe, as Ray is hard to get rid off but most importantly, to replace. Though his expiring contract makes things nice for another team to take on!!!
If he turns it on in the second half of the season, watch out!
Trade buzz: No deal for Allen? Yahoo Sports
Pays to be awake in Australia, while US sleeps!

Matthew
IVE HAD IT!
Okay, I have absolutely HAD it with this Celtics team! On paper = fabulous, on court = BAD!
We only won 1 quarter tonight!!! Against a 10th position team, that is pathetic!!!
Their recent performances have been so pathetic, they really should not even be in the running for the playoffs.
They are going to take up a position that another team deserves!!!
KG is gone, he cant run, barely can jump, defense is dead, he is shot! Retirement has to be on his mind!
Ainge has to get a good trade done soon! It is a absolute NEED for the Celtics, not just for this year, but the future!
If Ainge doesn't do something over the next week, Wyc should be finding a new GM!!!
KG for Stoudamire, ooo can you feel it!
Sheed Poll
Well, after playing this long with the Celtics, I think we can place a judgment on the successes of Rasheed Wallace. He has proven that he can have moments of dominence, being able to post up almost any player and land a bucket, he has shown that he can get threes in sometimes, but not other times. However, he has shown that defensively he is quite lazy - I think lackadaisical is a good way to describe him. Not to mention his constant fouls, arguing with refs and subsequent technicals...
Some things I have heard also is how Sheed has brought the team down in the locker room. Has he closed the window?
So where does he stand, make your vote in the following poll:
Celtics NEED Trade!
I seriously beleive that the Celtics are so desperately in need of a trade its just not funny. Tonights game against Detroit was a glaring example of why. 15-0 run by the Piston in the last 7min of the 4th quarter. Sure the Pistons did well offensively and beat our good defence - but the problem was the Celtics offence...It was pathetic, no spark, poor shot selection, and general poor shooting from our supposed prime shooters.
Ray Allen, downing 0 from 4 Three attempts and 3 from 10 Field Goals, this is very pathetic. His prime reason of being on the floor is his shooting ability and its just not coming through for him. Sure shooters go through slump periods, but their could be any number of reasons why he is shooting so bad, one being the lack of KG. But, I dont think Ray should be traded.
However, who else is supposed to be our offensive backbone when Ray is shooting so bad? Rondo can only do so much, and KG will definitely come back and provide a much needed spark. But at the end of the day, we still need something more.Tonight against the Pistons it just felt like the Celtics were laboring to score, not good.
Nate Robinson may be the answer, I don't know. What I am trying to say is that the Celtics are seriously in need of a good trade. I really hope Danny Ainge is working towards a major change.
Celtics - going to need a Walker soon!
Gday,
The Celtics, are so overplayed and so close to retirement, they are going to need a walker soon just to get anywhere...a Bill Walker that is!
Well it is getting on in the season, only a few months left until the playoffs...and things are still pretty shakey for the Celtics...Daniels, KG and Sheed all out with injuries.
And this seems like it is going to continue. The secrecy surround KG's injury still looms and it appears as if he will be out for another 10 days. Wallace is also out for at least a week due to a foot injury. Pierce had a knee injury however he is back out there, but for how long. And who knows when Daniels will be back. It doesn't look good, and all that needs to happen to the team now is for Rondo, Allen or Perkins to go down with an injury, and the Celtics are not in a good spot at all.
This injury problem, coupled with the fact that most of the players are nearing retirement (I count 4 off the top of my head, 3 of the starters) and are playing maximum minutes - certainly suggests that things are going to get a lot worse before anything starts to get any better.
So what is the solution? I believe a trade is an almost certainty before the deadline. Ainge would have to be absolutely brain-dead if he didnt change 'something' up. And I believe any trade needs to revolve around at least getting rid of Scalabrine. Sure he had a good game against the Hawks the other night - but that happens once in a blue moon.
Then begs the questions as to why Doc is simply not giving more minutes to the younger players....It is the most opportune time to give them more minutes, as the starters are injured and overplayed, and also because it is at the point of the season which "doesn't matter"... Docs words.
One of the serious problems the Celtics are having is their poor offense. Sure we can score, usually off lucky threes. But all it takes is a poor jump shot percentage, and we lose. Just watch the games, it comes in dribs and drabs, most of the time a turnover occurs due to shot clock violations. We don't have the paint penetration. Pierce cant do much anymore, he is slow and tired. Sheed wants to be a hero and shoot threes all day, despite his dominating post skills. And Ray only gets anything in the clutch or when it doesn't matter. So what do they do? Bring in a scorer is my solution. This could be achieved through a trade or through, the better option, giving Bill Walker more minutes.
Doc is crazy by keeping him on the bench and I cannot remember the last game Walker even stepped on the court. Just watch the video on youtube I have linked below. It shows you what Walker can manage....PAINT PENETRATION - our 2nd biggest offensive problem. Oh and look, he also hustles for the offensive rebound - our FIRST offensive problem. We have enough shooters, we need someone that can score when the shot percentage is down. If he doesn't start to get more minutes, he will want to get traded, go to that that team and be an absolute superstar...just like the guy that killed us the other night, Joe Johnson.
Something needs to change as soon as possible. Who are they kidding, injuries will continue to present as a problem, and giving the starters so many minutes is most definitely fueling that problem. We have good youth and it needs to be allowed to flourish, otherwise the playoffs will come around and the starters will be playing 40+min games, and we will slowly wither away, and lose to Orlando, or even worse, almost lose to the 7th seeded Chicago in the first round...

No Hudson, again
Why is Doc not giving Hudson more NBA minutes?
I just don't get it, Rondo is playing with an injury, which is absolutely stupid! If he injures his hamstring more, the ramifications this would have on the Celtics is immeasurable. The effect of having KG and Pierce out at the moment is evident in the loses we are currently having. So losing their third best player would be the last thing they need (yes Ray, you are playing [terrible] at the moment, cant even get a three despite that being the reason your on the team - 1 for 5 tonight - maybe you may as well be injured too right now - perhaps Ray should be a part of a trade for Lebron James!).
If they lost Rondo for any period of time, who would they put as PG...Ray haha? No doubt that would be the first option, House being the 2nd choice!!! Stupid if you ask me, when you have Lester Hudson needing 'NBA' development minutes. Why Doc didn't give him more minutes tonight against Phoenix is beyond me, would have been a perfect opportunity considering the Celtics were being shown how to play NBA-level basketball!!! Less then 5 minutes at the end of the game is pathetic! There is also Walker available, not sure if he made the trip to Phoenix, but another player who should be playing more minutes when the team is rocked with injuries!!!
With such a veteran team, who are slowly becoming geriatrics, considering how often KG is getting injured, and Pierce getting injured - the requirement to have a clicking bench is huge. Tonight's game was a good example of how the Celtics just aint got it going on with the bench.
This brings me onto another point, Rasheed Wallace...I mean [what?]!!! Playing as Center and shooting threes, yeah he has popped a few before, but tonight 0 from 4. One would think he would stop shooting them when in a slump. The stature Wallace thinks he is, he is not contributing enough to the team.
And then Scalabrine, 23 minutes tonight, WHY? He didn't even score!!!
I think at the stage of the game you really need an explanation from Doc as to he chain of thought? Why is he doing these things when its obvious it isn't working!!!
Worst game of the year....thus far!
More games at home for Lakers
Gday,
As the Celtics and the Lakers both head towards 24-6 win/loss record thus far, after tonight's games - it is interesting to note that the Lakers have played more games at their home court than the Celtics have, 5 more games in fact. Not sure if this will level out before the end of the mid-season or end-of season, or at all...
Could this be a good sign for the Celtics and their current standings, and another shutdown for the one-man-team Lakers? It certainly seems promising.

Matthew
Pathetic NBA All-Star Voting
I would like to refer you to this article on the lakers webpage. The last 3 paragraphs give the voting status as of a few days ago, for the All-Star Votes.
http://my.lakers.com/blogs/2009/12/24/bryant-still-leading-on-2nd-returns/
Now what I am upset about is how bad a few of the Celtics players are going, especially Kendrick Perkins. What I dont understand is how Perk, who systematically shut down Howard the other night, can be more than a million votes behind??? It makes my blood boil, even more so, when I see Shaq is doing better also, and he is having a f$@#&n bad season this year so far.
Then Rajon Rondo does worser than Allen Iverson, who is also shite this year. And Derrick Rose.
I mean come on, how is this fair? Really?
I just dont get it!
Matthew
Rasheed? Really that good?
Wallace came from the Pistons, as pretty much there star player.
Though the few games he has played with the Celtics, has he really been 'that' good? I mean, he has been a fantastic bench player for us, but I most definitely would not say he has done anything real special, considering how good he is meant to be. His defense seem scrappy and he tends to make a lot of amateur mistakes, which does cost the Celtics at times.
Am I wrong?
