You guys have been great over here and I hope you can say the same about us over at your house,this almost seems as a Championship game.For you guys it no doubt feels that way each week,You guys deserve a little chest thumping been a long time coming,hope your Season ends as well as it started.With that said! Towards the Vikings Staduim,Goodell is supposed to meet with Gov. Dayton and have a chat.An amount has not been determined yet,but If luck can fall our way with NFL kicking in about 300 mill could be a good day.That would mean that Minny wouldnt be involved except for roads and only blockage could come from the Arden Hills Reps.So there could be a Staduim deal in place sooner then we had hoped,but I wouldnt hold my breath quite yet.

Even on a feed was a well to tell truth no words describe it not fully .I wont put it all on the Def as they was on the field more,Offense cannot have 13 three and outs and expect  Defense hold up for long.Which brings us to our last games,we can play for pride or we can start playing for next year.Meaning lets start getting those 2nd and 3rd string players some time on field,lets see what we have to build on.Cause make no doubt its rebuilding time,that frontline was horrendus,the Giants was in our backfield most of the night.That doesnt excuse the play of T.J. if thats what you want to call it.We have no Home atm,but they will get it patched and I am afraid thats whats going to happen to the Team.We will dredge some stop gap Q.B. up from somewhere and for life of me Jeff George keeps popping up for some reason.I think nows the time to start looking forward,is the interm Coach the answer,or should we go all out get a new Coach,draft a Q.B. and rebuild.Like said tough game but it showed glaring weakness all around.ill drink the koolaide with everyone,hell I stayed watching game till last 5 mins thinking we could still get back in.

The Vikes are still in the Playoff hunt and could be smack dab in the middle of it and if you look at the Schedules of Packers and Bears a hmmm moment.

Lets look at the Packers first,they play in order

ATL,49ers,DET,NE,GIANTS and the Bears only 1 is a sure gimmie which is the 49ers,if DET plays like they did against NE it could be an upset.ATL,NE,GIANTS,BEARS, the Pack is going to have to work for those wins any of those Teams can go on a roll.I see the Pack splitting this and going 10-6.

Bears play in order

PHILLY,DET,NE,VIKES,JETS,GB hate say this but if Vikes dont show an improvement they are the only gimme in the bunch.Bears are looking at a 9-7 season unless the Vikes hand them a loss.

Vikings play in order

WASH,BUFF,GIANTS,BEARS,PHILLY,DET we dont have a gimmie in the bunch if we play like we have forget it,but if we play like we can this is a very do able schedule theres not a Team we cant beat.We have the Talent to pull this off,but does the Team have the desire to put forth the effort.A coaching change might be the Ticket we need,maybe not who knows but it would be sweet see the Vikes turn it around.

We held the Number 1 off to 14 pts,but only scored 9,not too shabby,after that opening drive thought oh hell,we in for it.We got mugged a few plays,nothing get pantys in a bunch,not the way I wanted my Vikes open the Season.but ill hold my head up high cause Saints going open a big one next few games.

Gets signed with the ravens for a year stint,terms of the deal is not available yet,but you can bet it was the lowest amount possible.The rest Seahawks pay out of there pocket of a 7 mill wage.Glad we didnt sign after lasts years snub,but cant really blame him when he thought the other T.J. would be throwing to him.I think we will be fine with what we have.

We are so loaded with talent we cut players that should make the team but cant.Dont know about you but feel we in the catbird seat,we got so much talent that we know players getting snapped up.Reminds me of bluegills,with a hooper that lands on the surface,feeding frenzy.We got that much talent,been long coming,but our F.O. made it possible,we so deep,we made trades before cut-offs.

Imagne what we kept,no matter the Season,what the out come.

First off wanted thank Gonzo(Chris for ya S.B.peeps) and his Great Wife for starting this blog,cant remember when I first started reading here or when I made my first post.Know was close to 3 yrs ago,maybe more who knows when your a Viking fan.Anyhoo,hope move went better then most U.S. forces moves,but prolly ya spent at least 2 days without belongings.Me and my Family wish yours happiness,long lasting friendship,and contentment in your new home .

Second theres a few Posters from other Teams that post here with class,knowing that you would be bashful if I named ya I wont,but tks eh.And sorry if anyone from our blog(I can think of 1 thats has been banned every site but ours,cant say we love him or understand him,or want him,kind of like that strange uncle,we dont want claim him,but no choice cause,hell cant even find reason why he is here.)posted at yours with trash talk.

Third the posters here,some great insight here,and how you behave decently,and just been fun.You guys make this feel like family.

As a kid growing up,my dad used to let us stay up late watch football,even on a shool nite he would have a few Buds.He always had the volume down,before days of remotes,I think he let us stay up late so we could raise volume up and down.

My old man was a hard S.O.B. you did a good job you get a nod,you did things wrong your feet best be moving.Quick with fist,slow with praise,but a good old man eh.

I look back and remember my first audible to said old man that I liked the Vikings,his words was "Dont they will break your heart".

I fell in love with said Purple,and not so true as my Father spoke,they didnt ever break my heart,chipped it a bit,but never broke it.

My father loved the Eagles but allowed me the choice to the Purple side.

A couple of days ago he had a heart attack,I got to hold his hand as he past,tough old S.O.B.  thinks the Skins going to win.

Has anybody been to any of the practices this week read there was a little blow up and a few reporters saying schism with the star players.If last year was a result of a schism between our players I want me a whole lot of it.

We got some tough games ahead of us this year,sounds as if a few peeps we wasnt expecting to get cut is going to.Anybody know the cut down dates for Teams.

A countdown clock on site,actually 5 of them,one for each of the preseason games,and the First game of season.Each one could have a dual or multi vote option.Winners advance losers sit still,you advance by correct points.

Which preseason game Favre decides get off lawnmower,which rookie has best impact in each preseason game,who gets cut,who wins game,who commits the most fouls etc.

We could also take this to a new lvl for the whole season,and keep track and just not Viking fans but everybody that posts here.

If we are going to be the best site out of 32 teams we need act like it ,spin it,flip it,post your ideas,take what I started and morph it.We got a long way from first preseason game and frankly I am tired of looking for Real Viking news and finding Squat Doodly rantings.

 I can recall watching Joe Kapp play,then Fran and then way too many players to name.Some years good some years bad,no matter the out come I couldnt wait till next year cause that was our year.

Find myself once again thinking this year is ours,and wondering have I wasted so many years waiting for that 1 moment.Was a kid when I got hooked on the Purple,got married  still hooked,watched 4 kids 3 went College 1 Air Force,still hooked,had 2 more kids 12 and 13 now still hooked.

Wasted years no,all older kids called home when Vikes was playing the Saints,2 youngest ones held my hand and said next year when they lost.

No the Vikes havent won a Super Bowl,yea been 4 times and lost 4 times and have been this close > I dont know how many times.But I am ok with that,I think I can truly say the Vikes have given me more then I have ever given them.

Having been born in Biloxi,but a Viking fan,am torn in 2 ways,I wish the Saints a first S.B. berth,I also wish for a Viking 5th.Cant have both but as close to having a split go my way no matter what ill take.

 

No matter what has been a great year to be a Vikes fan or a Saints fan,or in my case both.Has been a year to remember no matter what tomorrow.Both sets of fans should have no complaints up to this point,I couldnt have asked for a better match up then this.

I truly hope that both Teams get to play without any Ref interference,that no one gets hurt, its a good clean game and it keeps everyone on the edge of their chairs and couches.Saint fans wish ya all luck just more luck to my Vikes. I prolly wont be online during game as friends coming over but ill try at least say something during half.

Been a Hell of a Season,hell of a year,and was one hell of a game tonite,am I bummed a bit,Yea a little. I wanted a different out come,but any given Sunday.At Halftime I sat and opened a beer,figured we was Boned,then it seemed as if Favre took over the Game in the 4th.Was a Hell of a comeback,makes me think Maybe.Makes me think Chilly,has been holding back,now could be just the Viking fan in me,and all that Purple Drink I do every weekend,and every Year.On that note my thoughts will follow.
Seemed to me for past 3 weeks the Vikes have been playing 3 stoodges(purple kool aide)why wasnt Harvin in that much,and it seemed like CT was playing more in the 1st half then the second.Our passing game clicked when it had to in the 4th,but didnt bring itself until then.Makes me feel like Chilly wants to play all the weeks without a Bye.

Harvin on returns,seemed to me to run into Defenders VS his run straight forward and follow blocks then cut.

 

Now all this is just my thoughts,and remember we aint out of the S.B. YET,just aint we aint got a home yet.Until the Fat Lady sings on the Season we have a chance,could be that Purple drink,or just the Die Hard Vike fan in me that believes.

The Saints are all that they say they are,that OFF. picks you apart,that Def.hits hard and gang tackles Dem Aints playing good football.As much as I wanted them to lose,Brees directed this game as well as you can ask aQ.B.to,reminds me of another aging Q.B.who directs just as well.Am I worried a little,both have great game management,both share the wealth,both have pocket awareness,both have great players.

T-bird day,we always spend the day before with my wifes family and mine just before T-B day,means I have to eat 2 dinners with gusto.Tough choice as I would rather do the odd ,even year,one gets the christmas, and other gets the T- bird.

I wish that Easy button worked,but it doesnt.lifes easy choices doesnt work eh.

We came up with our own idea,we paid cash for rooms in advance,for suites in another town,and we are eating 1 meal this year.So for all you Vike fans,Happy T-Bird day,for the next 2 days we wont be near a comp.phone,cell or any other means of communication.

Favre rides his lawnmower into the Sunset,what does this team have going for it.We have 4 more years of Chilly,no real set plan at Q.B, a Twin City counsel trying to force the Vikes into a 2 year extension on the Metro-dump.A declining run Def. iffy pass Def,maybe a few Cordinators going to be H.C.for other teams.

Our front line Off. players are choking the Chicken when it comes to opening holes for A.D. or C.T . used to be wide gaps,now there isnt that push to make a path.Put A.D. and Harvin in backfield,split one to the right other to the left,set up a nice screen,in either of these players it can go to the house at anytime.Takes teams stacking against the run cause now they gotta play both sides,run Berrian deep,put Shank into the flats,Rice into the middle.

Dont get me wrong,love me some Vikes, more so when they winning, but been down this road before,in fact more times then I wish.Other day my Wife asked me why I hadnt been Yelling at the T.V. or Throwing Purple socks, been too calm on game day. I said Favre Q.B.ing and as long as he doesnt go gunslinger we always be in the game,her having Wiscousin ties said the obvious.Which got me thinking mmmm.

What would our Season be like without Favre,is Chillys K.O.A. so intense it takes a 20 year Vet to run it.Is A.D. s run decline due to dropping back and guarding Favre from unneedless hits.How many more Def. Delay of Game are we going rack up this year,and why so many as can remember 2 in in 30 year span and we got 3 this year alone.

What will it take for us to be contenders for the next 5 years.GB. has a nice start in Rogers,say what ya will about him, but the kid has some moxie and if they ever get a front line he will do damage very much like Favre did for them if he survives the next 2 seasons.Cutler needs some players to throw to,and if doesnt open his mouth will be a force to be reckoned with.Stafford, I like this kid,has moxie,balls,takes a hit and lets bad plays watershed,they ever get half a brain in charge and Detroit will be a contender in 2 years.

I really feel for the Pack fans,their Head Office made a diffcult choice,go with Favre and lose Rodgers which would have benifited us for years to come,or trade Favre and benifit us 2 years max.I think they made a great choice in keeping Rogers,though I can feel the pain of Losing Favre.Hopefully, when his career is done,they Welcome him into their all time greats,that they forget he wore Purple and Remember him for who he was.A player that gave his all to a team and choose not to retire again and againand again and prolly again again lol.

Just when you think the City of Green Bay has caught up with the World they take a Step backwards.In an attempt to stick it to Brett Favre and The Vikes,they Rename a street from Minnesota Avenue to Aaron Rogers Drive.Granted B.F. was the face of the Packers for what 16 yrs,but its been what 1 year and a half since the bittersweet divorce.You would think that being the Pack front office didnt want Favre,and wanted go another direction that at least they would be semi happy Bretts still playing.You would think his so called fans would be glad he is still playing no matter where he lands,put aside for the moment its the Vikings.

Your ex-Q.B. and our current Q.B. holds records that will never be touched again.Has played againts all 32 teams in the NFL. Has The most I am going to retire, no I am not seasons, along with all those other records he holds.

 

The Mayor of G.B. held a contest for how to greet Favres return in Purple,and all the winning suggestions fell short of what should of been in every Packer Fans mind.

Favres not being able to discern wether he wanted to play or not was easy to see,He has a 20 yr old heart in a 40 year old body.Being A Father he knew what a bad season would do to his kids in his eyes,Being a Warrior he knew what a bad season would mean to his body.Its not easy to be in your fortys,I know I am 48,cant even imagine what monday feels for Farvre,actually after a rough game Wednesday.

 

All in All we all know he will retire a Packer,Rejoice in the games he plays after the Pack, because you and everyone else in this world might get to see something no one else may get to see besides our Great,great,great grandchildren might ever see.

 

     BTW the street they Renaming is a Dead End Road.

After the Game I was a little bummed out the Vikes lost,but then I realized that even though they lost, they have the Talent to play and beat any team.Then I realized also that this loss was a blessing in disguise,we got that first loss out of the way no pressure on being undefeated to contend with.Another good thing is next week is the Pack,nothing better then playing after a game they should have won.I am not going to use the Refs iffy calls to justify losing the game.Most of the Penaltys was due to the loud crowd noise,the Sapp hit was definately a late hit out bounds or close enough to be warranted.The others I aint even going to mention,though I would like to see Replay happen when points are taken off of the board due to a penalty.Should go automaticly into review in that case,and make sure that the right call was made.

Other then that I thought they played hard and was in the game the whole time.One question I have to ask as I missed the play,was Farvres arm going forward on that sack, fumble that scored a Defensive T.D. didnt get to see a replay, but heard the noise and groaned.Also was Chester hit before the ball got to him.This is not a loss for any Vike fan to hang their head down on,we have the Talent to overcome any Team but ourselves.The schedule looks pretty decent from here on out.I believe the Vikes can win any of the rest of seasons matches.

Dont know if any of you play online games I found this one by accident and its not too bad.Its free you can pay money for upgrades and stuff but so far I have been keeping up with those that pay extra.Its a lot like Age Of Empires one of my fav games.Takes a little planning,some common sense and of course time to burn,the game play takes a bit to get used to but in time you catch on.
