3-23 in the playoffs? benched? madonna not returning your calls? no problem.
Inasmuch as Kenwo's apostasy regarding Konerko is regrettable, I am not surprised by Lance Armstrong, nor is anyone else. And that is Kenwo's point.
Melky Cabrera thinks he can fool mlb by clever use of the interwebz.
Ozzie Guillen is either a fool or a tool-- or perhaps (for those, unlike me, who are inclined to be charitable) he just outhunk himself. Sendiing Dunn to pinch hit for Lillibridge was so mindless that it caught the attention of the mothership.
$200 million in tax-payer funds for improvements to Wrigley? Really?
This isn't exactly breaking news by now, but holy shit, Carlos Zambrano has elevated himself to the pinnacle, the zenith, the apex, the pantheon, nay the hall of fame of douchebaggery. His notion of pissing away $24 million dollars- conceived, mind you, as a solution to his very own inability to avoid being one of the world's premier douchebags- is likely the douchebag idea of the season. Only in Wrigleyville could a player turn himself into this veritable tautology of douchedom; only there could a man, by virtue solely of his own unassailable wretchedness, turn what should normally be an occasion of sympathy for another loss in another lost season, into a spectacle of such cataclysmic egotism that even the Cubs organization and the sorry hordes of lemmings known as Cub fans are throwing up in their mouths. It is beautiful in its purity, desolation, and futility, this confluence of a douchebag, his douchebag behavior, his douchebag response to his own douchebaggery- and, ultimately, their demoralizing effect on the legions of douchebags who pay to watch him suck.
I guess no Pujols for the Sox.
This would be an ignominious end to a glorious career.
This one appears to have come home to roost. Oscar Wilde anyone?
at least the proposed film can't be any worse than his blog.
the all-star game.
of course they have the cubs' guy running it.
Fantasy Baseball.
omar minaya goes insane, offering jose reyes for juan uribe straight up.
Through the first 20% of the season
The tone around here has been fucking ghastly-- glum & hopeless, with the occasional vitriol and ledge-jumping thrown in.
I used to post comments and diaries here all the time. I still read the blog almost every day, but it seems to have changed. Did I miss something? Was there an announcement? I see Cheat posting...
I promised I would write something on this topic when a substantive event occurred that affects where the White Sox train in the spring.
Always remember The slam in Camden and the Shot off Santana
Going into today's play
If Ozzie gives BMac a shot in the rotation, you'd have to assume Buehrle, Garcia, or Vazquez would be the odd man out.
This is why we love baseball. This is why we love the Sox.
