Crossposted: Teaching Boston how to Hate Ottawa

So, I think I wasn't alone in not being as fond of Stanley Cup of Chowder's entry on reasons to hate Ottawa. Surely there were some better reasons than they had, right? I thought I'd take a shot...

Fun with shot charts and spreadsheets

A look at where the Ottawa Senators are shooting from and where they're scoring from.

Suspension video for Hagelin. I gotta say, 3 games is harsher than I expected, and it makes me wonder what this would have been worth for the regular season. Now, it's up to the Sens to try to make sure Hagelin doesn't see any more time these playoffs; 3 games is enough to send NY packing.

Keys to an Ottawa Senators Victory

I should be honest here. I have serious doubts that the Senators can win this series. Oh, sure, I picked them to win in 6 in the pool, but did you see my other picks? I picked WASHINGTON to win...

On the speed of our Rebuild

Okay, so looking at this year, it's pretty easy to say we're doing well. The team is sitting in fifth (though every other team near us in the standings has about 30 games in hand, thank you...

How would a Lockout/Strike affect our prospects?

I know no one wants a work stoppage to happen for the NHL. But if it did, could there be some benefit for a rebuilding team? I remember the last lockout ended up being a very strong opportunity...

We need to sign Karlsson to this deal RIGHT NOW

From TSN.ca: Karlsson, 21, is in the final year of his entry level contract and with a cap hit of just US$1.3 million is considered a bargain. But there's no doubt the Senators will have to...

Zibanejad Scores 2, Stone Scores 1 as Sweden Downs Canada 5-3 In Pre-Tournament Play

Good showing for the Sens prospects. One of Zibby's goals was into an empty net, but a strong game nevertheless. Merry Christmas, everyone!

My Ever Evolving Thoughts on the Turris Trade

So, it's a couple of days later, and I've spent that time reading everything possible about Saturday's trade. When i first heard about the trade, I think, like most of you, I was in shock. How...

Former Sens Coach Jacques Martin Fired

1

Man, if I weren't loving the Paulrus so much, I'd want the Senators to take some serious steps to getting Martin back right now. He's always been my favourite Senators coach. I'm betting he'll be out of work for less time than Boudreau was, but don't know what team will fire their coach and leap to Martin. Any thoughts?

Prospect Patrick Wiercioch Hit In Throat With Puck

7

There was a scary scene in tonight's match up between the Binghamton Senators and the Norfolk Admirals when Patrick Wiercioch was struck in the throat by a puck. Wiercioch left the game and, at the time of writing, remains at the hospital. The B-Sens have released a statement saying that he is resting peacefully and being evaluated. The B-Sens have called up defenseman Mike Ratchuk from the ECHL's Elmira Jackets. Best wishes to Wiercioch on a speedy and full recovery.

Our Biggest Need in the 2012 Draft?

2012 Trade Deadline - Because It's Never Too Soon To Start Ridiculously Inaccurate Trade Speculation

7 Games into the season, and we're already 3 games under .500.  There's reason enough to believe that the Sens can be better than their record so far (as this most recent win against the Jets...
