Fear The Fin Carlyle's such a hypocrite.

I never post here, but I need to do a little rant.

So, I'm watching the Ducks game tonight with my roommate; the Ducks are up 5-0 against the Jackets late in the third period. Columbus gets a penalty, and Carlyle throws out his TOP PP UNIT against the Jackets; with Visnovksy, Perry, Ryan, and Selanne.

What is that? I thought he made a huge deal about the Sharks throwing out their top PP unit of Heatley, Thornton, Marleau, and Pavelski against the Ducks when we were up 5-0. Same situation here, really Carlyle, are you kidding me?

Some people in the world have all the nerve. I hope we crush the Ducks on Sunday.

Go Sharks.

Fear The Fin Playoff Emergency!

So first off; long time lurker, first time poster. I've been a Sharks fan for about five years now; and I've finally started growing a playoff beard this season. However; I may have to shave--I have a possible internship interview next Thursday on San Jose. Here's the kicker: the internship I'd be going for is in the Sharks organization. So what do you guys think I should do? Shave to look professional for the interview; or just let it go and claim loyalty to the Sharks? On what level of playoff sin is this? All I can say is HELP! This is driving me insane!

Athletics Nation Chad Gaudin to the Padres

I'm surprised nobody's posted this yet, read about it here:

I guess my pipe dream of him coming back to us to work in the pen is gone, haha. I guess the Cubs trade isn't looking as great as it once was...

Speaking of pitching, I hope our new kids can do well against that monstrous lineup in Texas. Go A's!

Athletics Nation Anyone want to go to the final round of the WBC?

Thanks to the USA's amazing win tonight, we're going to be in the finals in Dodger Stadium for sure.  Would any AN'ers like to go?  I was hoping we could buy a large block of tickets so we could all sit together. I'm sure it's going to be packed, but it'll be a really special experience I'm sure.

If there's enough people who are interested, I'll go look up how much it costs for tickets and I'll get back to everyone. (EDIT: Hopefully if there's enough interest, we can just turn it over to one of the mods here to take care of this because I'm new here)

Thanks for reading guys :)

Athletics Nation Hi Everyone!

Longtime reader, first time poster..I really enjoy this website and I've finally decided to join the community.

So..I had a question to ask all of the AN'ers..I'm going to spring training for the first time ever this year, and I wanted some pointers on what to do or where to go..I also wanted to ask the always dreaded A's jersey name conundrum.

I hate blank jerseys, so I'm debating between Trevor Cahill (37), Kurt Suzuki (24), or Billy Beane (11).

Thanks guys, I signed up for the A's/Angels game in SoCal to start the season--I'll probably attend all four games. I hope to meet some of you down here!
