Scott Lucas has a great look at Sammy Sosa and his RBI totals this season, looking at how lucky Sosa has been with regard to hitting with runners on base. He admits that Sosa has performed with RISP but that it is almost inconceivable that Sosa could have the same kind of RBI production next year. It is a really good read and I think all the people who keep calling Sosa and "RBI machine" should definitely read it to put things in perspective.

http://rangers.scottlucas.com/

Why is Melhuse still on this team? There has been a lot of talk about Laird's lack of offensive contribution but he has been money behind the plate, throwing out runners. Melhuse has been awful defensively and worse than Laird offensively. I am tired of watching him butcher normal plays behind the plate and then do nothing in the batters box. With 2 other guys who can play catcher on the roster why is he on the team? I fear that he is becoming Ron Washington's version of Rod Barajas from last year.
