Dear Pat Fitzgerald; Congratulations on a successful season. Now, I’m aware that you still have two games left, but having just bested Iowa, the remaining games are meaningless, yes? Your jubilation after the game today was palpable. And why wouldn’t it be? Your perpetual goal was reached yet again. This surely makes it easier to cope with the blown lead against Michigan State, and Penn State for that matter.  And, I’m sure that it makes the long run of bowl droughts bowl victory droughts seem less like a cancer and more like an annoying itch on a giant, painful, festering boil that is jNW football history. As an Iowa fan, it should be hard for me to congratulate you with a straight face. But here I am. It takes a big man not hold a grudge when THIS happens. And you are clearly that man. Why, after the personal display of sportsmanship I saw from you today, yelling at and mocking the referees notwithstanding, it’s clear that you are a class act and deserve all the things that are on the horizon for you and your storied football program. I mean, I’m sure you were just trying to keep the referees honest when they didn’t call holding on your offensive line after every snap, right? Keep on truckin', Patty. Ass.

First off, I would like to point everyone to the inaugural OMFGAPUMPKINfest from last year. I feel like I put forth a bit more effort last year but I'm still pretty pleased with this years result.

I was hoping this year you guys could post your carvings (HAWKEYE propaganda or not) so it could be an actual OMFGAPUMPKINfest with the 'fest' being more.... festful?

It's really all about the focus.

Ok, now that he's gone; I need some help! Me and my gf will be attending our FIRST Hawkeye game this year. I landed some cheap tickets to the tOSU game. Now, as the title indicates I could use some pointers in a few areas...

Arriving in IC: Does anyone recommend getting to town at a specific time? Any streets that I should avoid?

Parking: Are there any fan favorite lots that are within walking distance? (More than 2 miles is not going to sit well with my Chain of Command) Does anyone recommend the Hawkeye Express?

Lodging: How far in advance should I make reservations? (I'm thinking now.) Should I stay in a Hotel outside IC? 

I realize that some of these are questions that will undoubtedly get answered as I experience it all for the first time. But I'd just as soon plan it out and see if I could get some REALLY good advice from some of my TERRIFIC Hawkeye brethren. For there are none as kind and generous as you on the planet... (see what I did there?)

Before you start reading, none of what follows pertains to anything. At all.

So last night, as my girlfriend and I were brainstorming ideas for pumpkin carving, I mentioned an Iowa design. Its was of the word "Iowa" only it was in cursive. I think the last place I saw that type of lettering was on one of OPS' older-than-my-grandmother t-shirts. It actually could have been HS. I digress. After I informed her of the cursive pattern she promptly exclaimed, "You're not going to be able to do that." To which I said, "Go fuck yourself." Ok, ok, ok... I didn't really say that. But God, I wanted to. No, what I really said was, "It's going to be tough, but, seeing as how I'm supremely awesome, I think I can do it."

.. is upset. According to Brent Musburger who, while reporting live from Happy Valley this morning on Sportscenter, confirmed that Sean Lee will not play and Navarro Bowman will be limited. Strangely enough, he also accredited our upset alert to the play of Donahue. Granted Donahue was not the only factor he mentioned, but c'mon, how awesome is your punter when he's on Musburgers personal Players That Make You Go Mmmmm list?

To add to some growing concern I read on the internets, I would also like to express my discontent with the WWLs lack of coverage on this game. As a matter of fact, the looping Musburger segment on Sportscenter this morning is the most coverage I've seen this week. Which begs the question, "If we beat PSU, WILL YOU LOVE ME THEN MOMMA?!?!"

But please correct me if I was wrong on the television coverage.

... we've got a lot of shit headed our way on Oct 10th. Granted, the Michigan defense is giving up the slant to Clausen, like a fat girl would their virginity, but this run-throw-pistol-shoot-ohfuckhesfast that UM is showing me today is kind-of scary. 

Forcier can pass on the run. That is to say when he passes and isnt handing it off to Minor or running the damn thing himself. Some people would say we faced the same kind of offense today against ISU, to which i say, "Pffffft!" Besides, it has always been my stance that "some people" are retarded. No offense to retards. Sash had an amazing day. Amazing. Did anyone else see him on the sidelines afterwards filling out a Thank You card for Arnaud? No? Just me then... 

We got a good look at our 3-4 today (yeah, that happened), and i was pleased. As I'm sure most of you were as well.

Well shit, when i started writing this Michigan was up 31-20. It is now 31-26 and Notre Dame is sniffing the redzone. So maybe I'm paranoid? Yeah that's it. Paranoid. Besides, who loses on Homecoming? AMIRIGHT?
