Stedtfeld's 2011 Denver Broncos Mock Draft 1.0
I'm going to take a shot at it for the first time this year..last draft season I had a total of 18 mocks. I've been busier this year but I finally decided to actually get one done. Having the 2nd overall pick is definitely interesting, although acquiring it wasn't as fun..But here we go!
My Evaluation of the Jacksonville Game
Ok, well I had to wait until I was finished with my initial frustration and fury to make this post so i could think logically. Right after a loss like that, I have dumb thoughts like, "We completely suck..oh well there's always next year..", or, "I don't know how we'll win a game this year..". But now that I've had some time to settle down, I think I can make a fair assessment of the game, and what the rest of the year will be like.

Random Thoughts 2010 - Mid-Preseason
I made a random thoughts post right after the draft, and said I would be doing more, so here we go. In this post, I will be jumping around to whatever I think of, so it will probably seem very random, because it is. I hope you enjoy!

MORENO!
"With the 12th pick in the 2009 NFL Draft, the Denver Broncos select...Knowshon Moreno, RB, Georgia."
Since then, Knowshon has become an integral part of the Denver Broncos offense. He will be the main running back for our team for hopefully a long time. Because of that, we need to really figure out how good Moreno is. I personally think he is the stud that we watched dominate the SEC in Georgia.
Video that I made just for fun. I'm sorry if you don't like the song, I don't really like it either, I just needed to put a song and i wanted one that was the right amount of time to match the video.
Who you don't love...
Here at MHR, we are all Broncos fans (mostly at least), so we love many of the same players. We all LOVE Eddie Royal, Champ Bailey, Elvis Dumervil, and many many others. A lot of us may love some other NFL players. I, for one, like some players like Ray Rice, Patrick Willis, Deangelo Williams...But There are also players I really do NOT love.

This being a Broncos site, we also dislike many of the same teams and players. No team likes their rivals, which for the Broncos would be the Chiefs, Chargers, and Raiders. Now, I'm sure there aren't many here that like any of those teams, but for me, I definitely dislike some teams more than others. For me, I cannot stand the Chargers AT ALL. I really do not like the Raiders or Chiefs either, but I can tolerate them more than I can the Chargers. No, it's not because they are a good team, I just really really don't like their players or coach. My least favorite players are on San Diego's team, like Philip Rivers, Shawne Merriman, and Shaun Phillips.

Like I said, no one likes their rivals, but compared to the Chargers, the Chiefs and even sometimes the Raiders are pretty respectable. My bias against San Diego may have something to do with them being my friend's favorite team..but I also have a Chiefs fan friend, and it doesn't bug me nearly as much.
So my question to MHR is, what team(s) and player(s) can't you stand, and why?
Predictions - 2010 and Beyond
Hey everyone! It's been a while since I made a post, so I thought I'd give you a list of my predictions for the 2010 season and even further into the future. WARNING: THIS POST IS MOSTLY IF NOT ALL OPTIMISTIC

Random Thoughts 2010 - Post-Draft
I am going to start doing a sort of series in which I give my thoughts on the Denver Broncos. These thoughts may be about anything to do with them, from player acquisitions to a recently played game. Whatever the Broncos may be up to, I'll address. I will do these once in a while, likely before preseason begins, after preseason, etc. Ok, so if you have seen many of my posts (a lot of mock drafts), you know that they often contain many pictures..so be prepared.
Aand, just for our mobile readers...a jump

My Thoughts on the Broncos' 2010 Draft
vI loved this draft. I loved getting ready for it and mocking it, I loved watching and waiting for Denver's pick, and I loved the players they picked. The draft is one of the most exciting events in my opinion. I don't think it is better than watching the actual game, but it is up there. I'm going to look at all the picks and give my thoughts on each.
No-Trade Mock, Stedtfeld's Last
Ok, I lied. I said my previous mock would be my last, but I decided I might as well do one final one, the day before the draft. I am sooo excited for tomorrow! But I still have school tomorrow, so I'll have to get through that before we get to the draft...I can't wait to find out who the newest Bronco will be tomorrow. So let's do this one more time, till next year..
What do ya think?
Hey Eagles fans. I'm over here from MileHighReport to ask you about a possible trade. I know we just traded, along with Detroit, but I'm talking about a draft day trade. What would you think of the Eagles trading up to #11? Adam Schefter said on his twitter that both the Packers and the Eagles have "expressed interest" in trading up to 10-12 region, and McDaniels seems very open to trading down. A couple possible trades would be:
Scenario #1
Philadelphia receives: 11th pick overall
Denver receives: 24th pick overall, 55th pick overall
Scenario #2
Philadelphia receives: 11th pick overall, 43rd pick overall
Denver receives: 24th pick overall, 37th pick overall, 55th pick overall
I am curious to know why you think the Eagles would be interested in this, who they could be going for. I'm thinking they might be looking to get Earl Thomas, but you guys know your team better than I do.
What ya think, Packers fans?
This'll be a short post. I'm over here from my usual blog, MileHighReport, to ask you all a question..What would you think about the Pack trading up with the Broncos in the first round? Green Bay gets 11 overall, Denver gets 23 overall and 56 overall. Adam Schefter reported that the Eagles and the Packers have both "expressed interest" in trading up to the 10-12 range. I am curious if you can see this happening, if you like the idea, and who the Packers might be going after if they were to trade up there through us. Thanks.
Stedtfeld's Denver Broncos Mock Draft 18.0
This should be my final mock. Well, we traded Scheffler, and a 7th round pick, for the Eagles' 5th rounder. We are rid of all distractions from the Broncos. I am soooo excited for the draft, it's probably not even healthy. I just want to skip ahead to Thursday at 6:00 PM right now. Anyways, here we go..

Stedtfeld's Denver Broncos Mock Draft 17.0
This might be my last mock draft, and let me say this has been fun, making all these mock drafts. I just find pleasure in finding players that could potentially be on my beloved Broncos. These next days are going to be loooooong waiting for the draft to begin. I will be so excited when the commissioner comes up to the podium with the Broncos' first pick, whenever that may be. Here we go...
Positional Breakdown: Who To Watch For
We are all done with the Broncos private workouts, we now know all 30 of them. We have a general idea of what McXanders are looking for and who they are looking at. They obviously aren't limited to the players they worked out, but it is very possible that some of them will be wearing orange and blue next season. I will look through each position, tell you what I think about that position as far as Broncos need, show you who I like, and who I think the Broncos should look closely at. I will look at: QB, RB, WR, TE, OT, OG, C, NT, DE, ILB, OLB, S, and CB.

Stedtfeld's Denver Broncos Mock Draft 16.0
Alright, here's another shot. In my last mock, I had no linebackers drafted at all. Since that seems to be a position of need for the Broncos, I'm going to include a couple of linebackers, probably an OLB and an ILB. I will include the same Marshall trade, add a Scheffler trade, and use Orange and Blue's idea of trading down with the Texans.

Stedtfeld's Denver Broncos Mock Draft 15.0
It's been a while since I have made one of these, over a month..I have been busy, and just came back from a vacation. Anyways, I am happy to see a list of all the players the Broncos are having in Denver for workouts (thank you HorseStance). It definitely gives us a better idea of who and what positions the Broncos are looking at for the draft. I think that McDaniels and Xanders should try to get as many second rounders as they can in this draft, because it is very deep. If we can trade Marshall for a 2nd rounder plus something else, and trade back in the first round to pick up another 2nd rounder, we would be set to do some serious damage in this draft. I like the trade idea of Marshall to St. Louis for their 2nd rounder, one of their 5th rounders, and a 3rd rounder next year (stealin that one from BroncoTiLLIDie).
TRADE ALERT
St. Louis receives: Brandon Marshall, WR
Denver receives: 33rd pick overall, 132nd pick overall, 2011 3rd round pick
TRADE ALERT
Cincinnati receives: 11th pick overall
Denver receives: 21st pick overall, 54th pick overall
With the 21st pick in the 2010 NFL draft, the Denver Broncos select...

Maurkice Pouncey, C, Florida
Not a lot of explanation needed for this pick. Maurkice would be a perfect pick here, as we have a definite need for interior linemen, and he is probably the best in this draft. He is to be brought into Denver for private workouts, which shows the Broncos' interest in the man. Another great part about the pick is that he can be put at guard, if need be.
With the 33rd pick in the 2010 NFL draft, the Denver Broncos select...

Damian Williams, WR, USC
This is a huge step in replacing Marshall. Damian Williams is the best route-runner in this years' draft, and he's great after the catch as well. He is very good in the open field, which is why he returned punts for USC. Damian is on the private workout list for Denver.
With the 45th pick in the 2010 NFL draft, the Denver Broncos select...

Vladimir Ducasse, OL, U of Massachusetts
He played offensive tackle for the most part in college, but he projects as a guard in the NFL. Very big and strong and would definitely help us both run and pass protect more effectively.
With the 54th pick in the 2010 NFL draft, the Denver Broncos select...

Toby Gerhart, RB, Stanford
Gerhart would be such a great complement to Moreno. Also, Buckhalter is getting up there in age and has some injury issues. Toby is yet another pick that will be visiting Denver. He is an extremely strong runner, with great vision and explosion. He is a good blocker, and he knows how to get into the end zone (27 TDs in 2009). The only question you might have with Gerhart is his speed, but he has game speed, just like Moreno or TD.
With the 80th pick in the 2010 NFL draft, the Denver Broncos select...

Jacoby Ford, WR, Clemson
I've been on loving the Ford pick for a while now, and the Broncos' interest in him has convinced me that this pick is very possible. Probably the fastest guy in this draft, he instantly helps us as a return-man. Also, he is a good wide receiver that can further help the receiving corp with the absence of Marshall. With he and Williams, we would have a great young set of receivers.
With the 114th pick in the 2010 NFL draft, the Denver Broncos select...

Austen Lane, DE, Murray State
We have done a lot to help the D-line already this offseason, and this just furthers it. Lane would not have to come in right away, but could wait a year or two before he takes over at DE. He has a very high ceiling.
With the 132nd pick in the 2010 NFL draft, the Denver Broncos select...

Alterraun Verner, CB, UCLA
This is another pick i can definitely see happening. Verner just seems like the right fit, and he is being brought into Denver for private workouts. The guy knows how to get the ball, with 13 interceptions in his 4 years with the bruins. He knows what to do with the ball once it's in his hands, too. He averaged about 27 yards per interception, and brought 4 to the house.
With the 183rd pick in the 2010 NFL draft, the Denver Broncos select...

Kurt Coleman, SS, Ohio State
I really like Coleman as a late-round pick. He has a real nose for the ball, and is a pretty good tackler. He could add some depth at the safety position.
With the 220th pick in the 2010 NFL draft, the Denver Broncos select...

Richard Dickson, FB, LSU
Played TE in college, and is a great blocker, and can also catch pretty well. I think McDaniels may want to use Spencer Larson more as an ILB, so we should get someone to play full-time FB.
Stedtfeld's Broncos Mock Draft 14.0
I really want to know what is going to happen with the Marshall situation. I want to know if we will still have this play-maker in our offense and I want to know from a draft standpoint. It changes a few things. If we are to trade Marshall, we will probably have another 1st rounder and 3rd rounder or 2 2nd rounders (or some picks + players) and that changes the whole strategy of a draft. Also, the need for a receiver changes. If we do trade him, it may be a good idea to snatch 2 receivers in this deep class. For this mock, I will trade Marshall to Seattle for our 14th pick back, their 4th round pick, and Deion Branch. This is a popular trade as of late, and it does make some sense. We get a couple of good picks and a solid WR that came from NE. I personally am indifferent to whether we should trade our star wide receiver. I can understand either way.

Stedtfeld's NFL Mock Draft
So I've done 13 Denver Bronco mock drafts..now I'll do my first full first round. I will not do any trades, at least not this time around, just because they're so hard to predict.
With the 1st pick in the 2010 NFL draft, the St. Louis Rams select

Ndamukong Suh, DT, Nebraska
With the 2nd pick in the 2010 NFL draft, the Detroit Lions select

Gerald McCoy, DT, Oklahoma
With the 3rd pick in the 2010 NFL draft, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers select

Eric Berry, S, Tennessee
With the 4th pick in the 2010 NFL draft, the Washington Redskins select

Jimmy Clausen, QB, Notre Dame
With the 5th pick in the 2010 NFL draft, the Kansas City Chiefs select

Russell Okung, OT, Oklahoma State
With the 6th pick in the 2010 NFL draft, the Seattle Seahawks select

Sam Bradford, QB, Oklahoma
With the 7th pick in the 2010 NFL draft, the Cleveland Browns select

Joe Haden, CB, Florida

Anthony Davis, OT, Rutgers
With the 9th pick in the 2010 NFL draft, the Buffalo Bills select

Bryan Bulaga, OT, Iowa
With the 10th pick in the 2010 NFL draft, the Jacksonville Jaguars select

Dez Bryant, WR, Oklahoma State
With the 11th pick in the 2010 NFL draft, the Denver Broncos select...

Rolando McClain, ILB, Alabama
Ok, so this is one way that Rolando McClain could be ours. I think it is definitely a possibility that he will be at 10/11, and we should pick him if he is. I started out on the McClain train, then I jumped off for a short while, now I'm back, and I'm not leaving again. The guy would instantly start and improve our defense, while being a leader in the locker room and on the field. If he's anything like Patrick Willis, we would have the heart of our defense for a long time. Try running up the middle, oops you hit the brick wall of McClain and Williams. Try running outside. Oops, looks like Dumervil caught you for a loss. If we can improve our D-line as well, we would have a top 3 defense, if not in 2010, then surely in 2011 (if there's NFL...).
With the 12th pick in the 2010 NFL draft, the Miami Dolphins select

Carlos Dunlap, DE, Florida
With the 13th pick in the 2010 NFL draft, the San Fransisco 49ers select

Trent Williams, OT, Oklahoma
With the 14th pick in the 2010 NFL draft, the Seattle Seahawks select

CJ Spiller, RB, Clemson
With the 15th pick in the 2010 NFL draft, the New York Giants select

Brandon Spikes, ILB, Florida
With the 16th pick in the 2010 NFL draft, the San Fransisco 49ers select

Derrick Morgan, DE, Georgia Tech
With the 17th pick in the 2010 NFL draft, the Tennessee Titans select

Jason Pierre-Paul, DE, Central Florida
With the 18th pick in the 2010 NFL draft, the Pittsburgh Steelers select

Earl Thomas, FS, Texas
With the 19th pick in the 2010 NFL draft, the Atlanta Falcons select

Sergio Kindle, OLB, Texas
With the 20th pick in the 2010 NFL draft, the Houston Texans select

Patrick Robinson, CB, Florida State
With the 21st pick in the 2010 NFL draft, the Cincinnati Bengals select

Jermaine Gresham, TE, Oklahoma
With the 22nd pick in the 2010 NFL draft, the New England Patriots select

Jared Odrick, DE, Penn State
With the 23rd pick in the 2010 NFL draft, the Green Bay Packers select

Charles Brown, OT, USC
With the 24th pick in the 2010 NFL draft, the Philadelphia Eagles select
Everson Griffen, DE, USC
With the 25th pick in the 2010 NFL draft, the Baltimore Ravens select

Kyle Wilson, CB, Boise State
With the 26th pick in the 2010 NFL draft, the Arizona Cardinals select

Sean Weatherspoon, OLB, Missouri
With the 27th pick in the 2010 NFL draft, the Dallas Cowboys select

With the 28th pick in the 2010 NFL draft, the San Diego Chargers select

NFL DRAFT
With the 22nd pick in the 2010 NFL draft, the Denver Broncos select...

Maurkice Pouncey, C, Florida
We need to address the interior line, and Pouncey is the best center in the draft. He helped Tebow be one of the best players in NCAA history. A large part of the reason we fell apart in the second half of the season was we were losing in the trenches. Pouncey is a huge upgrade from Wiegmann, and could be with us for many years to come.
With the 45th pick in the 2010 NFL draft, the Denver Broncos select...

Demaryius Thomas, WR, Georgia Tech
Yes, I want Thomas even if Marshall is still here. He is a big, strong receiver that can go up and get deep balls. I just can't think of a way to stop this: Marshall and Thomas on the outside, with Royal in the slot. I just hope Thomas doesn't start to climb draft boards and end up in the 1st round (which wouldn't surprise me at all).
With the 47th pick in the 2010 NFL draft, the Denver Broncos select...

Devin McCourty, CB, Rutgers
He's 5'11" and he has great leaping ability. He could be a very good corner in the NFL (especially with Champ teaching him) and he's a very good returner. He and the Phonz can be the future Starters.
With the 80th pick in the 2010 NFL draft, the Denver Broncos select...

Mitch Petrus, OG, Arkansas
Very versatile, good blocker that has experience at fullback, tight end, and special teams, as well as guard. Assisted both Felix Jones and Darren McFadden in having 1000 yard seasons.
With the 84th pick in the 2010 NFL draft, the Denver Broncos select...

Darryl Sharpton, ILB, Miami
Very fluid linebacker who is quick and is always near the ball. Let's put him by a former Hurricane (DJ).
4th Round, Pick A

Austen Lane, DE, Murray State
Big and fast, good pass rusher who has a very high ceiling.
4th Round, Pick B

Kevin Haslam, OT, Rutgers
Overlooked tackle that would be some good depth in case Ryan Harris isn't good to go.
5th Round

O'Brien Schofield, OLB, Wisconsin
He had an unfortunate accident during senior bowl practice, and tore his ACL. I would be willing to take the risk here because I think he'll be a good player if he can stay healthy. He could be used to rush the passer, which he can do extremely effectively.
6th Round

Kurt Coleman, SS, Ohio State
I like Kurt at this spot. He's a solid tackler and he has a nose for the ball. He's great at forcing fumbles and had some interceptions as well. He was the leader of the Buckeye defense, which is a trait that McDaniels loves.
7th Round

Kerry Meier, WR, Kansas
Very versatile player that has played at many positions in his career. The hope is that he can be a solid receiver someday.
Stedtfeld's Broncos Mock Draft 12.0
Brandon Marshall. Does he really want to stay, or is he just saying the right things to keep his value high? I really am starting to wonder what to do with the guy. If he is being truthful, and he can just keep quiet and just play football I am all for keeping him. But, it is hard to believe a guy who has repetitively said he's fine, then turned around and did something stupid. If McDaniels just thinks he's not changed, that he is just saying things to keep his value up, then trade the man. I realize how good of a player he is, but I think we can survive without him. In this mock, I will keep him, just to try it out.
Another thing, let me explain what mock drafts (mine at least) really are at this point in the reloading season. They are not really meant or expected to be accurate, just interesting and entertaining. We simply don't know enough to make a mock that we actually think could happen. One of the biggest for us is: Will Marshall be with the Denver Broncos in 2010? Also, no one knows what is going to happen in free agency, or even if the CBA deal will be reached. What if the Broncos end up getting a great center they like, in either FA or through a trade? What if McDaniels sees McKinley as a good deep threat? We have no idea what is going to happen or what players McD likes/dislikes. Maybe McDaniels and Xanders see McClain as a major bust, or maybe they see Dez Bryant as the next Jerry Rice, or maybe they see Jimmy Clausen as the next Joe Montana, so want to trade up...You just never know. Mock drafts are purely for fun at this point. Once free agency is over and we know who will be in Denver and who won't, I'll make a mock I actually hope to be accurate.
TRADE ALERT
Washington receives: Peyton Hillis, RB
Denver receives: 5th round pick
TRADE ALERT
Cincinnati receives: Tony Scheffler, TE
Denver receives: 84th pick overall
TRADE ALERT
Green Bay receives: 10th pick overall
Denver receives: 23rd pick overall, 56th pick overall, 4th round pick
Our Picks
23rd pick overall
45th pick overall
56th pick overall
80th pick overall
84th pick overall
4th round pick A
4th round pick B
5th round
6th round
7th round
With the 23rd pick in the 2010 NFL draft, the Denver Broncos select...

Mike Pouncey, C, Florida
This is the perfect pick for Denver. They need to get a center, and here they get one that could play for them for the next decade or more. Pouncey is by far the best center in the draft, and he could possibly play some guard if need be.
With the 45th pick in the 2010 NFL draft, the Denver Broncos select...

Jordan Shipley, WR, Texas
I like this pick whether Marshall is here or not. Shipley is a very talented receiver. He is pretty fast, runs crisp routes, and has great hands.
With the 56th pick in the 2010 NFL draft, the Denver Broncos select...

Dan LeFevour, QB, Central Michigan
I've never had a QB in a mock (this early, at least), but LeFevour could be very good with McDaniels. He has great size at 6'3" 238 lbs. He is very accurate, and with McDaniels' help, I think he could be a great QB.
With the 80th pick in the 2010 NFL draft, the Denver Broncos select...

Jon Asamoah, OG, Illinois
Asamoah is a good guard to get if we can't get Iupati. We absolutely NEED to get at least one pretty good guard this offseason.
With the 84th pick in the 2010 NFL draft, the Denver Broncos select...

LeGarrette Blount, RB, Oregon
Blount is a very talented running back, although he did make a mistake. I think he can stay away from those kind of incidents. He would be an awesome compliment to Moreno and Buck. He's such a tough, strong runner that would look good in orange and blue.
4th Round, Pick A

Alterraun Verner, CB, UCLA
Verner just seems like he could make an impact in the NFL after being taught by Champ for a year or so.
4th Round, Pick B

Micah Johnson, ILB, Kentucky
Micah is probably my favorite alternative to McClain, relative to where he'll be taken.
5th Round

Arthur Moats, OLB, James Madison
Great pass rusher who could be something like Dumervil. He could come in on plays where we want a great pass rush, with Doom and him.
6th Round

Kurt Coleman, FS, Ohio State
I honestly don't think we need a safety, as I like who we have now. But Coleman is a good player and could join Bruton as the future at our strong safety position.
7th Round

Dennis Landolt, OT, Penn State
Depth at offensive tackle. The interior line is of much more importance, but some depth at OT would be a good idea as well.
My take on the Offseason: WR
I love Eddie Royal. He is such a class act, and he's fun to watch. Something happened last year, and Royal wasn't very productive as a wide receiver. I can't say exactly what happened, but I can say that is was very disappointing. But in my opinion, Eddie can overcome whatever it is that is holding him back. McDaniels has said that he wants to get Royal the ball more, and that for me is exciting to hear. Next year, I am looking for him to be much more productive than last year, and earn his first pro bowl. Eddie Royal is a pretty dang good kick/punt returner, but I think he should no longer play those positions. He's going to have to focus this year on being a receiver, and only that. A lot of people are saying ER should play in the slot. I agree, but I think him being on the outside is not an impossibility. Before this season, Champ Bailey compared Eddie to Steve Smith of the Panthers. When someone asked, "how about Santana Moss?" he replied saying no, that Royal was stronger than Moss. If he can break through press coverage, I think our little receiver could be a great one.
Now onto one of the most talked about subjects for a looong time. Brandon Marshall. There are those who think he must be traded, and those that think he should be kept. I happen to be on the "trade him" side. I think he is too much of a liability off the field. McDaniels wants a team full of team-first players, and Marshall doesn't really fit that. Him quitting near the end of the season really sealed the deal for me. The guy just can't go a whole year without getting in some kind of trouble. IMO, Marshall wouldn't be as big of a loss as some think. No matter what, if we trade Marshall, the media is gonna give a ton of s**t. But I believe that we can still effectively pass the ball, spreading it more. I think we should draft at least one wide receiver in the draft, and our receivers could be fine. Marshall will say all the right things, because if he doesn't , he's just hurting his chances of getting a big contract.
Free Agency

Steve Breaston is a solid receiver, and would be a good pickup for the Broncos. A possibility is he and Jabar Gaffney on the outside with Royal in the slot. The problem is that he is a restricted free agent, so the Cards may counter our offers to keep Breaston.

Jason Avant is another solid free agent. Same thing as Breaston, he's a restricted free agent.
NFL Draft
Like I said, I think we should draft at least one wide receiver in this draft. This draft has some pretty good receivers, so it's not a bad idea for Denver to get a couple.

Dez Bryant is the best receiver in the 2010 draft. I like the guy because he has good hands, is a deep threat, and is great after the catch. If we were to draft him at 10/11 (if McClain is gone), I would not be upset at all. I think he has a great future in the NFL. Projection: 1st round

Brandon LaFell, on the other hand, does have that breakaway speed. He's a big receiver (6'3", 210 lbs), and if he can work on his route-running, he could be a great receiver. Projection: 1st Round

Arrelious Benn is more of a possession receiver. He's done pretty well, except he hasn't gotten many touchdowns (2 in 2007, 3 in 2008, 2 again in 2009). He also lacks breakaway speed, which is probably something important to us, since we need a deep threat. I like Benn, but not for the Broncos. Projection: 1st-2nd Round

Mardy Gilyard did a great job at the Senior Bowl. He's a very explosive receiver who is very quick in and out of his breaks. Wouldn't be a horrible choice for the Broncos, but as you'll see later, I'm doubting it. Projection: 1st-2nd Rounder

One of my favorite WRs in the draft is Demaryius Thomas. He is a deep threat, at 6'3", 230 lbs, but he is still pretty fast. I feel like he would fit well with the Broncos, and he fills a need. Projection: 2nd Round
Jordan Shipley is another guy I like. He runs crisp, clean routes and has good hands as well. He can make guys miss and is pretty fast. Interesting propect McXanders better be looking at. Projection: 2nd Round

I've seen quite a few mock with the Broncos getting Damian Williams. I'm not exactly against it. The guy runs great routes, has great hands, and he catches the ball at it's highest point. His problem is really he isn't physical enough. He sometimes has trouble with press coverage, and is an inconsistent blocker. Projection: 2nd Round

Jacoby Ford is interesting. Apparently the Broncos were talking to Ford quite a bit before the Senior Bowl. I like the guy, watching him he just looks like an NFL receiver. Extremely fast, once running a 4.126 40, and being a track star. Most track stars that go into football aren't that great, whether at catching or route running, etc. But Jacoby can play. He may be a little short at 5'9", but he doesn't play like it. He is a huge threat, on a screen, going deep, returning kicks. I hope the Broncos keep talking to him. Projection: 2nd Round

Dezmon Briscoe could develop into a WR that dominates smaller CBs. He has good size at 6'3", 200 lbs. He should be a solid receiver right away. Projection: 2nd round

Eric Decker will catch anything you throw at him. He has great hands, and good size, and makes great adjustments to the ball when it's in the air. He's a pretty good route runner as well. I am a little biased, because I am a Gophers fan, but Decker is a pretty dang good receiver. Projection: 3rd Round

Then we got Blair White. He's a hard worker and a leader (I know someone who likes those traits...). He has great hands, and he knows how to get open. Sounds like a WR I would like on my team. Projection: 3rd-4th Round

Riley Cooper is a very fast receiver, and was Tim Tebow's top target. Solid pick for what round he may be in. Projection: 4th-5th Round

Shay Hodge is a solid receiver, who will make the tough catches over the middle. Adjusts to poorly thrown balls well. Projection: 4th-5th Round

Stedtfeld's Broncos Mock Draft 11.0 - Post-Senior Bowl
Ok so I just watched the Senior Bowl, I've learned a few things, and I want to make a new mock today. This time, I will use Sayre's idea of Brandon Marshall to the Bucs for two 2nd round picks and a 5th round pick.
TRADE ALERT
Tampa Bay receives: Brandon Marshall, WR
Denver receives: 35th pick overall, 42nd pick overall, 5th round pick
TRADE ALERT
Washington receives: Peyton Hillis, RB
Denver receives: 5th round pick
TRADE ALERT
Cincinnati receives: Tony Scheffler, TE
Denver receives: 84th pick overall
TRADE ALERT
Green Bay receives: 10th pick overall
Denver receives: 23rd pick overall, 56th pick overall, 4th round pick
Our picks
23rd pick overall
35th pick overall
42nd pick overall
45th pick overall
56th pick overall
80th pick overall
84th pick overall
4th round pick A
4th round pick B
5th round pick A
5th round pick B
6th round pick
7th round pick
With the 23rd pick in the 2010 NFL draft, the Denver Broncos select...

Maurkice Pouncey, C, Florida
It's really between Pouncey and Iupati. I think both guard and center are important positions to get this offseason, but this draft has more depth at guard than center. Maurkice is hands down the best center in this draft, and would be a great addition to our offensive line.
With the 35th pick in the 2010 NFL draft, the Denver Broncos select...

Perrish Cox, CB, Oklahoma State
Perrish is a very good CB, and is very good at covering the deep ball (which will definitely help against San Diego). He is a very versatile player, and can help on both defense and special teams. What really makes him even better for the Broncos is that he is one of the best returners in the country. He would automatically improve our special teams and free up Eddie Royal.
With the 42nd pick in the 2010 NFL draft, the Denver Broncos select...

Corey Wootton, DE, Northwestern
Corey should be able to play DE in the 3-4, and do it well. We need to solidify our offensive and defensive lines, and Wootton would help there.
With the 45th pick in the 2010 NFL draft, the Denver Broncos select...

Demaryius Thomas, WR, Georgia Tech
I like Thomas a lot, especially because he's a deep threat, and can go up and get it. He's a big guy and we need to fill the hole Marshall leaves at receiver.
With the 56th pick in the 2010 NFL draft, the Denver Broncos select...

Jacoby Ford, WR, Clemson
Yup, 2 receivers in a row. I can't pass up on Ford. He is a very fast guy (ran a 4.126 40 once) and is a good receiver at the same time. Watching him at the Senior Bowl, he just looked like an NFL receiver. Jeremy (Styg) reported that the Denver Broncos have been "talking extensively" to him. The guy is small (5'9", 181 lbs) but he doesn't play like it. He still has enough strength to release from press coverage.
With the 80 pick in the 2010 NFL draft, the Denver Broncos select...

Jon Asamoah, OG, Illinois
Alright, so I chose to get Pouncey over Iupati. We pretty much need to get a guard in the draft, and Asamoah is a good option. He's no Iupati, but he's pretty dang solid.
With the 84th pick in the 2010 NFL draft, the Denver Broncos select...

Colin Peek, TE, Alabama
Peek has had my interest for a while now, and his performance in the Senior bowl brings even more attention. He is a good TE that can both block and catch. With Scheffler likely gone and Graham aging, bring on the Peek-Quinn era.
4th Round, Pick A

Micah Johnson, ILB, Kentucky
Micah is a beast ILB, and I firmly believe that if we don't get McClain, we should get this guy (or possibly Darryl Sharpton). We need to replace Andra Davis, who wore out towards the end of the year.
4th Round, Pick B

Dexter Davis, DE, Arizona State
Pure pass rusher. We should especially get someone like this if we lose Doom (please no), but it would still be a good pick if we keep him. We could put him on on certain downs if we want to rush the passer very well. Imagine Doom and him in on the same play, rushing the passer..
5th Round, Pick A

Mitch Petrus, OG, Arkansas
Brings some depth at the guard position, which is much needed. Hopefully he would become more than a backup someday.
5th Round, Pick B

Kurt Coleman, SS, Ohio State
I believe we are doing pretty well at safety right now, with Dawkins and Hill starting and Bruton, McBath, and Barrett behind them. Coleman comes in because Dawkins won't last forever and he and Bruton can be the strong safeties of the future. Kurt will go after the ball, whether it be stripping it or intercepting it.
6th Round

Tim Hiller, QB, Western Michigan
He's the prototypical QB size, at 6'5" and about 230 lbs. McDaniels gets another project, and we can get Simms the hell outta here.
7th Round

Dennis Landolt, OT, Penn State
Don't know much about Landolt, just that it would be nice to have some more depth on the O-line.
Stedtfeld's Broncos Mock Draft 10.0 - Something a little different
I will do this a little different this time. I will take each pick, and name the top 3 players I think we should get at that spot. If our first option isn't there, go with the next one...(be prepared to look at 30 players)
TRADE ALERT
Baltimore receives: Brandon Marshall, WR
Denver receives: 25th pick overall, 88th pick overall
TRADE ALERT
Washington receives: Peyton Hillis, FB
Denver receives: 5th round pick
TRADE ALERT
Cincinnati receives: Tony Scheffler, TE
Denver receives: 84th pick overall
Free Agency
I think our first priority in the offseason should be to keep Dumervil. We need someone to generate a pass rush and he's one of the best in the league at doing that. He is not as one-dimensional as some think. He can stop the run pretty well, even though his specialty is getting to the QB. Also, we should sign Orton for another couple of years at least. McDaniels apparently like Kuper, so he should be signed, along with Matt Prater, who is/will be one of the better kickers in the league.
As for non-Bronco signings, the main two I would like to see are Chester Taylor from Minnesota, and Ryan Pickett from Green Bay. Pickett did a nice job playing the nose tackle position over in GB, and Taylor is a versatile RB that still has some left in the tank.
Our Picks
10th pick overall
25th pick overall
45th pick overall
80th pick overall
84th pick overall
88th pick overall
4th round pick
5th round pick
6th round pick
7th round pick
With the 10th pick in the 2010 NFL draft, the Denver Broncos select...
#1

Rolando McClain, ILB, Alabama
Rolando McClain is a beast of a linebacker and could help our defense, especially stopping the run, for the next decade or so. I am with many Broncos fans in thinking this, but the problem is I think other people (teams) might have that thinking..like KC, Cleveland, oakland. I am very worried McClain will not be at 10 or 11 so we should be prepared for that...Also, I love elvisalex's idea of trading with the Jets to get David Harris. The man is a proven ILB and would get rid of our need for a great young ILB.
#2

Dez Bryant, WR, Oklahoma State
Dez Bryant will be a very smart pick if Marshall is traded/let go, and I think he will be. I can see Bryant being one of the top receivers in the league if a few years. I know not all will agree with this, but that's just what I see in him. He is a solid route runner, he has great hands, can grab jump balls fantastically, and is great after the catch (he returned some punts at Oklahoma State). I, for one, would be very happy during the draft if Bryant popped up on the screen with a Broncos logo by his name. I think this would be a big step to improving our offense which was definitely nothing special in 2009.
#3

Joe Haden, CB, Florida
Joe Haden is the best corner in this draft, and it would be nice for us to pick him up. Champ Bailey and Andre Goodman are both getting older, so we should think about a replacement for them. We already have Alphonso Smith (who I have much faith in), so to get another young corner that can learn behind the best in the league would be awesome. However, I might rather trade down with this pick if McClain and Bryant are gone, because there are other talented CBs we can get later in the draft.
With the 25th pick in the 2010 NFL draft, the Denver Broncos select...
#1

Maurkice Pouncey, C, Florida
Center is one of our biggest needs, and Maurkice Pouncey is the best in this draft class. I know many here have talked about getting Iupati, but I think getting Pouncey is more important than Iupati. First of all, Iupati is not as great as some at MHR have made him seem. He is still very raw, and will probably be good in the NFL, but he's not Jesus or anything. Maurkice Pouncey would almost definitely be our "franchise" center. Centers have been known to be able to play guard more than the other way around, so Pouncey could even play at guard if needed there.
#2

Dan Williams, DT, Tennessee
Our defensive line needs help as well, and Dan Williams would more than help. He could be a great nose tackle in the 3-4, and anchor our line for many many years. He could draw double teams and collapse pockets, as well as stop the run. I like Williams more than Terrence Cody, because Cody is just a big ball of fat rolling at you. I wouldn't want a guy that gets tired after 5 plays, then either sits out or is dominated.
#3

Mike Iupati, OG, Idaho
I do think Pouncey is more important than Iupati, but that doesn't mean I wouldn't LOVE to get this guy. Like I said, he is raw, but he could become one of the better offensive guards in the NFL. I really hope we can get both Iupati and Pouncey... Imagine a left side like this:
Clady Iupati Pouncey
Tell me that wouldn't be dominant, especially in a year or two.
With the 45th pick in the 2010 NFL draft, the Denver Broncos select...
#1
Demaryius Thomas, WR, Georgia Tech
Obviously if we pick Bryant, Thomas wouldn't be the selection here. But I love Thomas if we get someone besides Dez. He is a big deep threat, which is much needed (obviously we must fix the O-line first). Please McXanders, take a long hard look at Thomas, he is a beast.
#2

Brandon Ghee, CB, Wake Forest
Again, we should get a corner somewhere in this draft, preferably in the first 3 rounds. Ghee is a talented CB that may be able to take over for the Champ, after being taught by the Champ. One of my favorite CBs in this draft.
#3

Corey Wootton, DE, Northwestern
I am actually very high on Wootton, but this is where I think trading down would benefit us. I think Wootton could be had later in the 2nd round, and if we trade our 1st for a later first and a 2nd (or something like that) we could get Wootton with our new 2nd rounder. Wootton should be able to be a DE in the 3-4, and from what I've seen, excel at the position.
With the 80th pick in the 2010 NFL draft, the Denver Broncos select...
#1

Dexter McCluster, RB/WR, Ole Miss
I've been riding the McCluster train since I started doing mocks this season, and it's still chuggin for me. McCluster could be that "home run hitter" player who has a chance to make some huge plays with the ball in his hands in open field. He could take the responsibilities of kick/punt returner from Eddie Royal's hands, allowing him to focus on being a receiver. McCluster has been climbing draft boards so much lately, I'm hoping he doesn't enter the 2nd round, because I probably wouldn't want to take him there.
#2

Darryl Sharpton, ILB, Miami
Sharpton is a beast of a man, and he looks like he could succeed at the next level. This pick doesn't come of course if Rolando McClain is picked at 10/11. Sharpton is a great alternative and it would be cool to have two Miami players for our ILBs.
#3

Jon Asamoah, OG, Illinois
Jon Asamoah is a big guy, and could fit our O-line well. Earlier I stated my opinion that it is more important that we get center Maurkice Pouncey than OG Mike Iupati. If that is the thinking in Denver, we may not end up with Iupati, but a Asamoah would be a great alternative IMO.
With the 84th pick in the 2010 NFL draft , the Denver Broncos select...
#1

Alterraun Verner, CB, UCLA
Verner is my favorite CB in the draft, considering where he will be taken. Verner seems like he will do well in the NFL, and I just have a feeling McDaniels sees him the same way. Verner may not be able to come in and instantly make an impact (or maybe he will..), but with the Champ mentoring him, I feel like he could do a great job for the Broncos.
#2

Dezmon Briscoe, WR, Kansas
Dezmon seems like a lock to be a solid player in the NFL. He probably won't be the next Jerry Rice, but he should be able to start and do pretty well. It would be nice for us to add to the depth at receiver, though we don't need it.
#3

Dan Lefevour, QB, Central Michigan
Let me just say right away that I don't think we should pick a QB in the first 4-5 rounds, unless there is a guy McDaniels REALLY feels is the next Tom Brady.
With the 88th pick in the 2010 NFL draft, the Denver Broncos select...
#1

JD Walton, C, Baylor
JD would be a good option for if we missed out on Pouncey. It is very important to improve our interior line, so we shouldn't wait too long to pick for it.
#2

Cameron Sheffield, OLB, Troy
Sheffield can be an OLB in the 3-4, and he's pretty good. He's strong and is a good pass rusher that explodes off the line of scrimmage.
#3

Vince Oghobaase, DE, Duke
If we can not get Wootton, we should look at Vince Oghobaase. He could be an animal at the 3-4 DE position, getting 51 total takcles, 9 tackles for loss, and 6 sacks last season.
4th Round
#1

Micah Johnson, ILB, Kentucky
The other alternative to Rolando McClain. Emmett Smith did a nice job explaining why ILB is one of our biggest needs this offseason in his post Linebacker: The Broncos Scheme and Needs. We need someone to come in for Andra Davis.
#2

Eric Decker, WR, Minnesota
Decker is a great receiver that catches everything you throw at him...Ok there may be a little bias here, me being a Gophers fan, but Decker is still a pretty good prospect.
#3

Ben Tate, RB, Auburn
Ben Tate is a very durable, strong runner who explodes through holes and keeps driving. He is also a receiving threat out of the backfield.
5th Round
#1

AJ Wallace, CB, Penn State
Solid corner for Penn State and a good kick returner. Move to next option if Verner, Ghee, Haden, etc. are picked.
#2

Cam Thomas, DT, North Carolina
Here's the problem with this pick: I have no idea where Cam Thomas will go. For all I know, he could go from the 3rd round to the 6th. If we can get him here, I'd be happy, but I would definitely not count on it.
#3
Arthur Moats, DE, James Madison
Moats can/will translate to the 3-4 OLB, because he's a tweener. He may be average in the run game but he knows how to get to the QB, and is fast. (Sounds like someone, huh?)
6th Round
#1

Alric Arnett, WR, West Virginia
Arnett is a good 1st receiver that is a leader on and off the field. He has a great size/speed combo and a big-play ability.
#2

Legarrette Blount, RB, Oregon
Blount is a very tough runner that has taken a huge hit on his stock from his attitude as a person. I think if McDaniels believes that he has/can fix that, he should get him.
#3

Brandon James, RB/KR, Florida
If we don't get McCluster, it wouldn't be a bad idea to get James. Since this pick is in the 6th round, it wouldn't be too bad to get a guy that mainly is a kick/punt returner. He could have some offensive plays as well, to try to make a big play with his speed.
7th Round
#1

Chris McCoy, DE, Middle Tennessee State
Another guy that may have to switch to 3-4 OLB in the NFL. A great pass rusher that has some potential to be a solid player.
#2

Kerry Meier, WR, Kansas
Kerry Meier is an interesting prospect. He switched from QB to play some WR, and did well. I think he could be a good 7th round pick.
#3

Dedrick Epps, TE, Miami
Versitile player, can both block and receive pretty well. Big guy but is still pretty fast.

Stedtfeld's Broncos Mock Draft 9.0
I personally think that Marshall will be traded, and we will receive good compensation for him. I think right now Miami sounds like a good idea, as does Baltimore. I will just stay with a 1st and third, from Miami. As for Dumervil, I think he will be a Bronco next year. Denver will do what it can to keep him here, because he is very important. Sticking with my trade with Washington, I think Shanny will want some of his guys.
TRADE ALERT
Miami receives: Brandon Marshall, WR
Denver receives: 12th pick overall, 73rd pick overall
TRADE ALERT
Washington receives: Tony Scheffler, TE; Peyton Hillis, FB
Denver receives: Fred Davis, TE, 5th round pick

TRADE ALERT
Green Bay receives: 12th pick overall
Denver receives: 23rd pick overall, 56th pick overall, 4th round pick

7th round pick
With the 10th pick in the 2009 NFL draft, the Denver Broncos select...

Dez Bryant, WR, Oklahoma State
I know some of you don't like this pick, and think we should go elsewhere with the pick. First, let me just say I don't think that Rolando McClain will be available at our pick. Also, I see so much potential in Bryant to be an outstanding receiver in the NFL. There are options in the 2nd/3rd rounds, but none like Bryant. I think he would help our offense out in a big way, especially with Marshall out. He has great hands, and is great after the catch.
With the 23rd pick in the 2010 NFL draft, the Denver Broncos select...

Maurkice Pouncey, C, Florida
Not much explanation needed here. Imagine what Orton, Moreno and Co. can do with a great offensive line..Pouncey would be a large part of that.
With the 45th pick in the 2010 NFL draft, the Denver Broncos select...

Mike Iupati, OG, Idaho
I'm not quite sure if Iupati will be here, but if he is, we better take him. Best guard in the draft, helping out that O-line. Getting Pouncey and Iupati would be amazing.
With the 56th pick in the 2010 NFL draft, the Denver Broncos select...

Corey Wootton, DE, Northwestern
We need some help up front on defense, and Wootton would be a great 3-4 defensive end.
With the 73rd pick in the 2010 NFL draft, the Denver Broncos select...

Alterraun Verner, CB, UCLA
I really hope we try to get Verner, he seems like the kind of player that could become a good NFL CB. It seems like a pick McDaniels would make, I'm hoping so.
With the 80th pick in the 2010 NFL draft, the Denver Broncos select...

Dexter McCluster, RB/WR, Ole Miss
I love McCluster and he would be a good player for Denver to have. We need a homerun hitter type of player (not that Moreno can't get those kind of plays) that can also return.
4th Round, Pick A

Micah Johnson, ILB, Kentucky
I'm sorry if I'm getting repetitive here, but I think this is a perfect pick. Micah is a beast, and we should get a good young ILB because Andra Davis isn't going to last too much longer.
4th Round, Pick B
Blair White, WR, Michigan State
Makes our receiving corp even better, and Stokley is probably nearing the end of his career. I would love to have a great young receiving corp with Bryant, Royal, Gaffney, White, McKinley, Willis.
5th Round

Arthur Moats, DE, James Madison
Could be a good pass rushing OLB, who could be brought in for us on certain downs. Some think Doom might be let go, and he would help there.
6th Round

John Estes, C/OG, Hawaii
He would add some depth to that interior line of ours.
7th Round

Legarrette Blount, RB, Oregon
If he's here, why not? He would be great value in the 7th round if he can improve his attitude.

Brandon Marshall Situation
Krieger from the Denver Post talks about the Marshall situation and possible trades.
My take on the Offseason: RB

Knowshon Moreno was drafted by Denver with the 12th pick overall in the 2009 NFL draft. It was a very surprising pick to most, and some didn't understand it, because they had bigger needs on defense, and Peyton Hillis had done a great job when he played. Well, Peyton Hillis didn't do anything at all in 2010, and Moreno ended up getting the majority of the carries. Some will say Moreno was insufficient as the Broncos RB, but I think a huge part of that is the offensive lineman. If we are able to improve that O-Line, Moreno should be one of the better running backs in the league. The man is as tough as I've ever seen and he runs hard and falls forward almost every carry. He is a cool guy as well, and is fun to cheer for.
I think Peyton Hillis should be traded if we can get at worst a 5th round pick. If not, keep him. Lamont Jordan should just be released, he doesn't bring much to the team and isn't really worth anything. Buck should be kept, he's done a good job with the carries he's had.
Free Agency

If the Chargers choose not to resign Darren Sproles, we could try to get him to be our change of pace back and returnman.

I like Jerious Norwood as a change of pace as well. He is a different style than Sproles, he's much taller. I personally like Norwood more than Sproles, I would like that addition.

Lendale White from Tennessee is the opposite of Sproles and Norwood. He would be a short yardage back, to get tough yards. I don't like Lendale but it could be something to look at.

Chester Taylor is probably my favorite RB in this FA class. He is a good back and very good catching out of the backfield. I would be happy to get Taylor, he would be a great addition.
NFL Draft
I think we should get a RB in this draft, but a change of pace back.

Toby Gerhart was an absolute beast in college, trucking everyone. He won't quite be the same in the NFL, but he's still be a tough runner who should be able to get yards in short-to-go situations. I think he could compliment Moreno well, especially getting those tough inside yards.

I love Dexter McCluster, and he can be had in the 3rd round. He compliments Moreno well with his speed, and we need a homerun hitter like him. On top of that, he would be able to return punts/kicks very well.

I would like to get Legarrette Blount, but with no earlier than a 6th round pick. He would play a similar role to Gerhart, a big, strong runningback to get short yardage.
Next up: Wide Receiver
My take on the Offseason: QB
I am going to give my opinion on every position and how we should address it in the offseason. I'll start with the quarterback.

Kyle Orton becomes a free agent after this year. I believe strongly that we should resign him because he has done a great job, when he has time to throw. I think that we should try hard to upgrade our offensive line, particularly the interior line. Kyle Orton was in MVP talks this year before our line fell apart. The injury of Ryan Harris seemed to have a big effect on the performance of our O-line. Kyle hardly ever threw a pick, and he was very efficient, able to move down the field to score. I like him a lot but I'm not sure he will be a long-term answer.

Tom Brandstater is a popular guy at MHR, and I have hope that he will become our starting QB someday. He looked very raw, but looked like he had potential when we watched him in the preseason. We are hoping that McDaniels can teach him to be a good/great QB like he did with Matt Cassel.
All I will say about Chris Simms is that he should be gone by next season.
Free Agency

Chad Pennington will be a free agent, and I don't think that Miami really wants/needs him back, so we could try to get him as a backup. Pennington is efficient with his short passes and he hardly throws picks, like Orton. Would be a big upgrade over Simms.

I live in Minnesota, and I hate the Vikings (their fans piss me off), so I've made plenty of fun of Tarvaris Jackson. He's not a very good starting QB, but he could be a nice backup. I would be alright with having him, although I would rather have Pennington.
NFL Draft
IMO, we shouldn't get a QB in the first half of the draft. I don't think McDaniels will do it, and I wouldn't want us to. If we were to draft a first round QB, though, I would want Sam Bradford from Oklahoma. He is just my favorite QB coming out and he is pretty dang accurate.

I wouldn't complain if we were to draft another QB late, but I am hoping McDaniels is happy with Brandstater so we don't need to draft one. But if we did draft one later, I am thinking Dan LeFevour from Central Michigan.

Next up: Running Backs

Stedtfeld's Broncos Mock Draft 8.0
This time I will have Miami get Marshall, just to switch it up, and also it's a possibility. No trade for Boldin this time, though.
TRADE ALERT
Miami receives: Brandon Marshall, WR
Denver receives: 12th pick overall, 73rd pick overall
TRADE ALERT
Washington receives: Tony Scheffler, TE; Peyton Hillis, FB
Denver receives: Fred Davis, TE, 5th round pick

With the 10th pick in the 2010 NFL draft, the Denver Broncos select...

Dez Bryant, WR, Oklahoma State
Since Brandon Marshall will most likely be gone, I see nothing wrong with getting a very good receiver that is a better deep threat than Marshall. I think Bryant will be one of the best in the league within a few years.
TRADE ALERT
New England recieves: 12th pick overall
Denver Receives: 22nd pick overall, 48th pick overall
With the 22nd pick in the 2010 NFL draft, the Denver Broncos select...

Maurkice Pouncey, C, Florida
I think almost all of us agree with the pick of Pouncey by now. It's an absolute need to improve our interior line.
With the 45th pick in the 2010 NFL draft, the Denver Broncos select...

Corey Wootton, DE, Northwestern
Wootton would help us win in the trenches, which is a big part of what killed us the second half of the year. Wootton is an absolute beast, and I would be stoked to get him.
With the 48th pick in the 2010 NFL draft, the Denver Broncos select...

Jon Asamoah, OG, Illinois
If we do not get Iupati, I think we may try to get Asamoah. He is a good guard, and we need to upgrade that O-line.
With the 73rd pick in the 2010 NFL draft, the Denver Broncos select...

Alterraun Verner, CB, UCLA
I like Verner a lot. He just seems like a corner that, behind Champ, could learn to be a good player in the NFL.
With the 80th pick in the 2010 NFL draft, the Denver Broncos select...

Dexter McCluster, RB/WR, Ole Miss
I want us to get a guy like this, a quick guy that can be a change of pace runningback, and a returnman.
4th Round

Micah Johnson, ILB, Kentucky
I didn't get Rolando McClain in this mock. I am becoming more and more worried he will be gone by our pick. Therefore, we get Johnson here, who is also a beast.
5th round
Shay Hodge, WR, Ole Miss
I have nothing wrong with Jabar Gaffney but we might as well get some depth, especially because Stokley is gettin up there in age. Getting WR free agents this year could be a good idea as well.
6th Round

LeGarrette Blount, RB, Oregon
This guys a beast and he could be a big sleeper here. It would be nice to have a big strong guy like LeGarrette since Hillis apparently doesn't work.
7th Round

Cam Thomas, DT, North Carolina
We have a young nose tackle in Chris Baker, why not get another? I want us to get Ryan Pickett from GB, but then we should have a young NT or two to take over someday. We may be able to put some of our NTs at DE.

Stedtfeld's Broncos Mock Draft 7.0
Alright, so for this mock I will stick with the trade in my last mock with Washington. And our deal with Baltimore. But this time we will acquire Anquan Boldin by swapping first rounders with Arizona and throwing in a 3rd rounder.
TRADE ALERT
Baltimore receives: Brandon Marshall, WR
Denver receives: 25th pick overall, 88th pick overall
TRADE ALERT
Washington receives: Tony Scheffler, TE; Peyton Hillis, FB
Denver receives: Fred Davis, TE, 5th round pick

TRADE ALERT
Arizona receives: 10th pick overall, 80th pick overall
Denver receives: 26th pick overall, Anquan Boldin, WR

So, this is what we're looking at...
25th overall
26th overall
45th overall
88th overall
4th round pick
5th round pick
6th round pick
7th round pick
Loss of: Brandon Marshall, Tony Scheffler, Peyton Hillis
Addition of: Fred Davis, Anquan Boldin
With the 25th pick in the 2010 NFL draft, the Denver Broncos select...

Maurkice Pouncey, C, Florida
If we do anything this offseason, it should be improving our line (on both sides of the ball). Maurkice is for sure the best center in this draft, and the Broncos would be very smart to grab him so they can more effectively run their offense.
With the 26th pick in the 2010 NFL draft, the Denver Broncos select...

Mike Iupati, OG, Idaho
I'm not sure what Broncos fan would be unhappy about this pick, combined with Pouncey. We would definitely have the best young line in the league, and one of the best period. Apparently McDaniels is satisfied with Kuper and Olsen, so imagine a line like this:
Clady Iupati Pouncey Kuper Harris
If you ask me, that would be pretty dominant, especially in a few years.
With the 45th pick in the 2010 NFL draft, the Denver Broncos select...

Demaryius Thomas, WR, Georgia Tech
Beast deep threat, which would give us a great receiving corp, and at a much lower price than keeping Marshall. I think we should do something like this instead of picking up Dez Bryant in the 1st.
With the 88th pick in the 2010 NFL draft, the Denver Broncos select...

Vince Oghobaase, DT, Duke
Pronounced oh-guh-BAH-see. I'm lovin this pick more and more. We need help on our defensive front, and he brings it. He fit as a 3-4 DE, and do well there.
4th Round

Darryl Sharpton, ILB, Miami
Well, we didn't get McClain in this mock, so I decided we should get Sharpton here, if he is available. Put a Miami player by a former Miami player..
5th Round

AJ Wallace, CB, Penn State
Stickin with this guy again, mostly because I like AJ and because we should get a corner sometime in this draft.
6th Round

Brandon James, RB/KR, Florida
I am a little disappointed I didn't get McCluster in this mock, but I still think we need a change of pace back, and a quick one. James could also punt and kick return, helping Eddie Royal out.

Chris McCoy, DE, Middle Tennessee State
OLB in the 3-4, he's a good pass rusher, and could be a good late pickup. If he ends up being good, we could put he and Doom in on some plays, to rush the passer very well.
