Behind the Steel Curtain Anyone attending the week 4 game in Houston?

I know this probably should have been a fanshot so I apologize in advance. I was just wondering if anyone on this site will be going to the game down in Houston? My sister lives down in Texas so I am flying down so we can go to the game. I know I won't be alone as Steelers Nation always travels well, but just wanted to see if anyone else had plans to go. Thanks.

I guess this shouldn't be too much of a surprise considering the depth at running back that the Redskins have. It is sad however to see how quickly Willie declined. He will always have a place in Steelers history for what he accomplished here. I don't know how many of you share my sentiment, bur Best of luck Willie.

Short article about his relationship with his brother and his transition to playing guard this upcoming season. Figured I'd pass it on just in case you missed it. Enjoy!

Looks like we won't know the result of this game before kickoff anymore. Also read elsewhere that Hester will most likely be out along with some other starters.

Behind the Steel Curtain Tomlin quotes and thoughts on this week's game

I know the fanposts have been blown up this week with lots of negativity and frustration and by all means I think it is appropriate. So while trying to deal with all of our frustration I wanted to try and focus on some other things leading up to Thursday's game. First, after watching Tomlin's press conference he had two quotes that stuck out to me. One was when he was asked when everyone would know what his changes in the lineup will be he responded by saying, "Maybe 6:30 on Thursday. The hay's not going to be in the barn this week. We are going to keep baling it till the 11th hour and some change if possible." I'm really curious to see what these changes may be and whether they are minor or major changes. The other quote came when asked about possibly sitting Troy for rest of season depending on if we are still in the hunt to make playoffs he said, "I play to win. If the scoreboard is on we play to win..and last I heard they going to have it on." Now I know last week the whole unleashing hell thing kinda came back to bite him, but regardless of the outcome I still look forward every week to hearing what he has to say. However, as always, actions speak louder than words. Anyways, as disappointed (disgusted) as I am in the team's recent play I am curious to see what some of the younger guys can do this week. Even after Burnett's horrible drop that should have ended the game I'd like to see what he can do as well as Kennan Lewis in certain packages. It seems as if Burnett will start so we will quickly find out. As for Hines not playing that is never a good thing, but I remember reading a few weeks ago somebody on here said all we need is one big play or catch from Sweed for us to begin believing in him again. With Hines out could this be the week he finally does that? If not now then when? Basically I am trying to look for positives and convince myself it will all work out. Here's to hoping for a playoff run similar to the one we had in 2005....and if not please please please at least beat the Browns because that is one loss I don't think many of us could handle.

Behind the Steel Curtain Harrison's Interception Return

Today while I was watching the replay from the return I noticed something. I'm sure we all saw how far out of bounds Fitzgerald needed to go to get around everyone to make his way to Harrison. There were many good blocks by the Steelers, however I did not realize that possibly the most key block we got on this return was made by a Cardinal. I was watching Fitzgerald and realized that as he was running out of bounds he ran into teammate Antrel Rolle who was watching the return. You can't really blame him because he wouldn't expect to be in the way standing out of bounds but either way I'd like to thank him for his key block. I truly believe that Fitzgerald would have most likely caught Harrison earlier had he not been slowed down by his collision with Rolle. I'm sure I wasn't the first one to see this but I just wanted to point it out to those who missed it. So once again thank you very much Mr. Rolle.

Behind the Steel Curtain Down in Texas

First off very disappointing game today that I honestly don't even want to elaborate on right now. However I would like to point out something we have all known for a while but wanted to give another example. I am from Pa but I am visiting my sister in Texas. Both being diehard fans we went to Buffalo Wild Wings to watch the game and even though it shouldn't be much of a surprise the majority of the bar were Steeler fans. Plenty of teams were represented but it was clear who had the most. Just another example of how great Steeler Nation is. Sure it helped the Cowboys played last night but either way still thought it was a point to be made. Anyways heres looking forward to the playoffs and hoping for a much better performance than what we witnessed today. GO STEELERS!

Behind the Steel Curtain Patriots Game Tape

Hey guys..great win yesterday. Definitely one that I will remember and lets hope this momentum can carry through to the rest of the year. Anyways the reason I posted is I need your help. My uncle is from the Foxboro area and a season ticket holder so of course was at the game yesterday. He will be joining us for christmas and me and my family talked about how great it would be to keep replaying the game for him but unfortunately my dad somehow forgot to DVR the game. If anyone either has or knows how I could obtain a copy of the game I'd greatly appreciate it. Thanks!

Behind the Steel Curtain why mendenhall....why

I don't know how many of you have seen this so I thought I'd post it. Apparently Mendehall sent a text message to Ray Rice saying he was going to have a big game and Rice passed this information on to his defense. Why in your first NFL start would you go out of your way to piss off the opposing defense which just happens to be one of the best in the league? I was really looking forward to seeing what Mendenhall could do in this game (which I will be attending) but now I'm worried he just gave them that much more incentive. However part of me doesn't mind the confidence, lets just hope the rookie knows how to back it up. Anyways heres the link to the story....

Behind the Steel Curtain Television schedule

I live in Pennsylvania and somehow the game is not being televised in my area this weekend. Instead they will be showing the Baltimore Ravens and the Cleveland Browns. How this makes any sense at all I have no idea. It's not even a case of where the network has a deal with one of those teams that they have to show their games either. At least if that was the case I'd understand, I'd still be upset but at least have an explanation. I just don't get it. I apologize for my rant but had to let out my frustration somewhere and I know everyone here would understand haha.

Behind the Steel Curtain ESPN: My Wish

I'm sure many of you have either already read about this or seen the video on ESPN, but I still felt the need to post it anyways. This is a sad story, but how great was it for the Steelers organization for one day to set aside everything and give this kid an experience he will never forget. Great story. Just goes to show even further what a class act the Pittsburgh Steelers are. Wacthing this video makes me love these guys even more than I already did before and realize they are just human beings as are you and I.

Behind the Steel Curtain Pro bowl season for Woodley?

Pat Kirwan recently chose LaMarr Woodley as one of his 10 players who may be going to their first pro bowl next year. Seems to me like most analysts are high on him, as is everyone else around here including myself. Lets hope he lives up to the expectations that we have for him. I know I think he will.
