Game 8 Overflow Thread
A pair of fights and some awful pitching early.
Royals trying to come back, down 9-5 now
Day 2 LDS Open Thread
Thought I'd get an early start to the day since I'm on the phone, waiting for a project to start at work.
Yesterday we saw Cliff Lee do what he's done since coming to the Phillies, the Yankees beat a mostly sleepwalking Twins, and the Dodgers knock around Chris Carpenter while overcoming only 3.2 from Randy Wolf. What will today bring?
Colorado Rockies (A. Cook) at Philadelphia Phillies (C. Hamels), 1:37pm CT
St. Louis Cardinals (A. Wainwright) at Los Angeles Dodgers (C. Kershaw), 5:07pm CT
Boston Red Sox (J. Lester) at Californ-- Anahe-- Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim (J. Lackey), 8:37pm CT

Day 1 LDS Open Thread
We didn't have one yet so I thought I'd start one up for those watching today's games.
Colorado Rockies (U. Jimenez) at Philadelphia Phillies (C. Lee), 1:37pm CT
Minnesota Twins (B. Duensing) at New York Yankees (C. Sabathia), 5:07pm CT
St Louis Cardinals (C. Carpenter) at Los Angeles Dodgers (R. Wolf), 8:37pm CT
Worst. Weekend. Ever?
I think I broached this topic on one of the Gameday threads this weekend, but it should probably be more fully explored.
How does this rank in the annals of "dark" weekends in Royals history? I've only been around for about 10 years so I don't know if I've exactly seen a lot of "bright" weekends but this seems like a bad one even by our standards.
Any others that spring to mind at the moment? Or maybe some optimism as to how this really isn't that bad as you guys know I'm always in that market

Rany's Latest on the Betancourt trade
I was right- Rany was just sleeping on it to see if the rage subsided. It hasn't. The intro:
(it's my first fanshot, be kind)
"1…2…3…4…
Oh, how I long for the halcyon days when Nick Swartz was my greatest concern.
5…6…7…
When the Royals were mad at me instead of the other way around.
8…9…10…
Look, I could count all the stars in the sky and all the fish in the sea, and I still don’t think I will have calmed down. Sorry, mom. I actually finished writing this last night at midnight, but decided to sleep on it and read through it again in the morning. I’m afraid the sleep didn’t do me any good."
