I'll keep this short.
1. WTF is wrong with this guy.
2. I better not hear about how bad the Bengals players are ever again.
3. WTF is wrong with this guy

Palmer should take every snap Sunday...Jordan Palmer.
Andre Smith, Jerome Simpson, Larry Johnson, Shaun Smith and the team's tackling dummies should all start. I would be happy to take a meaningless loss to screw over the Steelers. Not that I'm afraid of them but any division game would be the most dangerous. Plus if the jets win and we have the 4 seed, we probably host them a week later. Nothing like a free scrimage to get ready for the first round of the tourney. Did I mention it would be another chance to screw the Steelers? Besides, how cool will it be to watch that replay of Coach Ryan saying he is "obviouosly out of the playoffs" another 3000 times. The best part is the league pushed this game back to a night game. By then we will know if a win helps us in any way. My guess is it won't and we get that onfield bye week. Plus, we get to screw the Steelers.
Santa Claus, Easter Bunny, and savior Jerome Simpson walk into a bar...
Oh wait, I just remembered. I don't believe in any of them.
Man it would be nice if fixing this offense was that simple. Imagine how huge that would be. If all it takes to make this a top offense again is to activate one player. A secret weapon...oops, I might have said too much. maybe that's it. Maybe Marvin has been holding him back because he would rather blow the second seed than miss an opportunity to shock the world with a surprise 500 yard playoff game. NFL films will call this "the regular season rope a dope".
The truth is the offense starts at the line. We have some young linemen playing well overall but not heading to Canton. These guys are pretty good at making holes for the run but have blown a lot of assignments pass protecting. I think they will get better but Brat deserves some credit for realising what they don't do well and not asking them to consistently hold off the rush for 4 seconds. Remember, Henry was our 4th receiver for a reason. He didn't loose a step. Chris was more talented that Coles or Caldwell but we didn't have the O line that would give him enough time to be effective.
Now don't get me wrong, I'd like to see Simpson this year and I think we will. I just think it's going to be after we have wrapped up or lost the second seed. The only down side of that is he will probably get his looks from J.T. O'Sullivan, so we still won't know what he can do.
The Simpson debate has really dominated Bengals talk recently. I found it amazing that guys that post a lot and obviously have a pretty high Bengals IQ are so adamant that Simpson is the answer. I think hope is getting in the way of reason. Guys that beleive our offense can be fixed with the 5th round talent out of Coastal Carolina, probably sit up on Dec 24 in your pajama feeties, listening for reindeer.
Tomlin crys at the post game presser, I poop you not
The Browns dominated the Steelers Thursday night knocking them out of the playoff picture. With his hat pulled down low shadowing his eyes, voice cracking, and red puffy eyes Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin could barely keep it together. What is it with this team and the sobbing. "theres no crying in baseball" or football for that matter. You are not allowed to cry on national TV unless you are hoisting the Lombardi Trophy or you are Coach Vermeil. I almost shed a tear myself thinking about all those loudmouths that said "the regular season is meaningless. we will see you in the post season." I can't wait to see how these guys are going to come up with a way to be obnoxious after this one. I finally get that stupid yellow towel, it does a great job drying up the tears. All Steeler bashing aside, I'm glad they are out. The law of averages told me three in one year would have been our toughest playoff game. especially if #43 made it back. That guy is a freak, without him they are not good.
Coffman to the IR
Actually that might be a good thing. If he has been hurt this whole time, maybe that is what kept him off the field. It's possible he doesn't suck. The alternative is Marvin IR'ed him because he needed the roster spot for Smith, Coffman was never going to see the field, and his injury was the equivelant of a stubbed toe. If he has been hurt, where the heck have the beat writers been on this. Conspiracy Theorist unite.
One and done...for starters
This falls into the catagory of..duh, but it's still kinda cool to be able to talk about. With the Ravens loss tonight the Bengals will clinch the division with a win this Sunday. That would guarantee us a home playoff game. Obviously it's not the goal or the expectation, but it would be nice to get that first hurdle out of the way. Not to mention the milage we get out of it when talking to our buddies that own those stupid yellow towels.
