time for a Head Coach!
Trying not to sound like a complete idiot because the adult beverages were amazing today!
Its time for Jerry to get a Head Coach! Everyone that knows anything about the NFL knows that the Dallas Cowboys have two Coordinators and no head coach. I know that it's easy to complain after an 0-2 start, but I said it last year even after wins and I will say it again, there is not one person on the coaching staff with complete control over the team and it shows.
I know people here are going to say that the season is not over after 2 games and there is no reason to throw it away by getting rid of the head coach, but if the Cowboys are going to have any chance at the playoff's, they are going to have to win 10 of their next 14 games. With the talent on the roster, that shouldn't be a problem at all. But it will not happen with this coaching staff. The Cowboys just played two of the worst 5 teams on their schedule and they came away with two losses.
This game can't be put on any of the players, not Buehler for missing the field goal, none of the OL (which I think did a pretty decent job this game), not the defense for being owned by Cutler, but maybe a little bit on (just because I agree with Irvin, Dallas is better off with 10 players on offense) Roy Williams. Do you guys think he's ready to carry Bryant's pads in practice?
Jason Garrett - You have a GREAT stable of RB's, if you only run the ball 19 out of 70 plays, you're never going to get anything going. Yeah, you have a great passing game and AMAZING receivers, but making Romo throw the ball 51 times is setting him up for failure. The game was close, it's not like you were 3 TD's behind.
Wade Phillips - This is the same argument as the other 2 teams that you were HC for. I found a quote in an article I saw on Fanhouse about Phillips and I think this sums it all up, "....detail and structure were not areas of strength and that confrontation appeared to make Phillips physically uncomfortable, so much so that he avoided it. He was the type of boss who would tell a player he was doing great and cut him one day later." I think this motivational poster says it all....he doesn't look so clueless in this one, but loved the poster!

My problem with this years Pro-Bowl
What exactly is the NFL thinking? Why in the world would they put the Pro-Bowl the week before the Super Bowl? They are all but eliminating any chance of players from the two best teams playing in the game and I wouldn't blame any players from the losing Conference championship games for not playing a week after having their chances for a Super Bowl taken away from them. Throw in the possibility that these are going to be four teams who might have more players voted in than the other teams and we might be looking at a record number of alternates playing in the Pro Bowl this year. Also, it doesn't help the NFL's case that everyone thinks the game is a joke anyway.
I'm curious to see what everyone else thinks so I put the poll up.....
Tailgating at FedEx field???
Is anyone going to the game tomorrow and gonna be tailgating? Or does anyone know of any spot where there will be a good Cowboys tailgate? I'm going with a bunch of Redskin fans and getting there about 4 hours before kickoff. I wouldn't mind meeting up with a few Cowboys fans and hanging out. It's unfortunate I'm going with all skins fans, but atleast I get a free ticket out of the deal! If you're interested in meeting up, email me at stevefs12@hotmail.com
Michael Crabtree......
What is this guy thinking? He's holding out to try and get the same, if not more money than a guy that was picked 3 picks before him. He's missed the teams entire training camp and says he's ready to hold out the entire year. He might not get the money he wants this year if he goes ahead and signs a contract, but I'm willing to bet that it would be considerably more than he would get if he were to re-enter the draft next year after a year of not playing
Go Bob Knight!!!
So, I'm sitting here watching College Gameday on ESPN and where Bob Knight is one of the analysts, and is on there talking and going on a little rant and his advice to coaches was "don't read the papers, don't listen to BSPN, dont listen to anything, just coach"! The other analysts had no clue what to say, it was a very uncomfortable silence!
I guess he shares the same feelings about it that we do, he's just getting paid so he sold out!
My pick for our first Undrafted Free Agent pickup
So I'm sitting here watching this Wisconsin vs. Florida State game and this punter for Fl. State is amazing. His first 3 punts were downed at the 3, 1, and 1 yd lines. Not because someone raced down to catch the ball, but because of his placement. I say we try to get him after the draft if he comes out.
I think McBriar is awesome, but if he can consistently do stuff like that, how about some competition at the punter position!
I really can't see a punter being picked up in the Draft, has that happened much before?
My night at an Eagles bar....
First of all, let me start out by saying the fans there were classy and I had a blast from the time I got there. The Eagles fans here in Baltimore are great and I can't wait till next game to do it again.
To start the night off, I was walking by a few bars on the way to Magerk's, the Philly bar, and saw a couple Eagles fans in each bar, but heard this noise getting louder and louder the closer I got. I finally got there and could not believe how many Eagles fans were there, had to be atleast 300. I thought to myself for a second, "alright, I'll go somewhere else and find a place where I can sit down", but then I decided that I have been waiting 9 miserable months for this day and nobody was gonna take it away from me, not even 300 obnoxious, loud, and insane people from Philly!
So, I went in the bar, the first bartender didn't want to serve me, but then I found the other who recognized me(I've tipped her well in the past). At this time I'm the only Cowboys fan in sight, which is soon about to change, and the entire male population in the bar quickly realized the same thing.
In a matter of 5 minutes, just before kickoff, two of the 3 hottest women that bar saw tonight walked in. The fist walked up to me, gave me a high five and asked me what I wanted to drink. The second came up and joined us, and when I looked around, I saw those angry Eagles fans even more pissed off than before. To make that story short, they both gave me their numbers and now I've got two 10's to watch the rest of the games with. I love me some Texas women!
As we all know, the game was close all game. The Eagles fans were loud when they did good and quiet when they were bad. A friend of mine that was down the block said it was loud when the Cowboys did good, and thats all cause I wanted all those fans in there to know that I was there to represent the next SB champions!
Anyway, By 5 mins left in the game there were about 25 people left in the bar, and 7 of us were Cowboys fans, when I asked what the deal was, a friend of one of the fans that goes there all the time said, "he knows the Cowboys are about to win it and there are Cowboys fans here that are making more noise than the Eagles fans". So that made me proud, I just want you guys to know that I went into enemy territory, represented our boys well, and didnt get beat up like Mike Tyson facing Lennox Lewis. On top of that, I will be hanging out with two hotties for the rest of the season and its all because of my #9 Jersey. Have a good one!
This game should not be taken so lightly
In my opinion, we should not take this game so lightly. I think we need to play our starters that are not injured and try to put the Redskins away this week. I think they are playing the best football of any other team in the NFC right now. We have played poorly 2 out of the last 3 games, average this last week, and haven't come close to looking like the team we are capable of being since the Green Bay game.
Fans in Baltimore/DC areas
I'd like to get together with some good hardcore Cowboy fans for the next game against the Redskins. At least those of us that don't have the loads of extra cash to fork over to Danny boy. I know of some good bars here in Baltimore, but I'm sure that the people from DC wouldn't be up for driving all the way up here. I do know of a great bar (Rams Head, at Savage Mill, next to Fort Meade) for watching games and it's about halfway between the 2 cities. There will be a few sulking Redskins fans there also, which is always great. The place has 25 cent wings and $5 pitchers during games, which is good because I'm all about the specials. Anybody interested?
