SI: Ranking MLB Stadiums
http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/baseball/mlb/specials/fansurvey/2008/index.html
Cards score pretty good in all categories except ticket prices and team quality. #5 overall. #1 in Fan IQ and Hospitality.
I've visited 7 MLB stadiums and the rankings of each seem pretty spot on. Cub fans will probably disagree.
#1 is Cleveland and last is Florida.
Need 59 more words.. man how bout them Cardinals. Vote Skip Schumaker for the All-Star Game! Go Brewers.. uhhh I have to leave for work in 10 minutes.. uhhh MLB The Show is a great baseball game.... I am watching Around the Horn Jay Mariotti is a moron

Best Baseball Sim Game?
Hey everyone.. I'm an avid videogame player. I loved the MVP and Triple Play Baseball series and now I love MLB The Show. However, now that I've gotten older I've started to get into baseball sims on the computer. I played Baseball Mogul last year but never had the time to really get into it.
Any sim players out there? If so.. what do you suggest? I'm only familiar with OOTP and Baseball Mogul. I like Mogul because all the players are in the game -- you don't have to download them or anything.
Any help/advice is greatly appreciated!

Which would you rather see?
Cards take 3 out of 4 from the Brew Crew but it catapults the Cubs into 1st place?
or
Cards lose 3 of 4 and the Cubs lose a few which results in a more comfortable lead for the Brew Crew.
In other words, are you cheering for the Cards to lose this weekend... or maybe just "not cheering for them to win."
The reason I ask is because there are MANY people on this site who have given up on this season.
Personally, I'm not yet to that stage.. but a month from now if we are still 8+ back and the Cubs and Brew Crew are neck and neck, I might just "not cheer for the Cards to win."
I'm sure this sounds horrible to some of you but I don't want to see the damn cubs win a WS EVER!

Speezer
Was at the game Tuesday. Got there early and saw Speez.. I asked him how the finger was. He said "It's getting there, i'm going to go take some BP here in a few."
He then proceeded to hit about 5 absolute BOMBS... I know it's just BP but I'd say he's more than "getting there."
I'd think there would be a need for Spiezio somewhere.. he's one guy I could see being moved before the deadline. Great guy, I'd hate to see him go.

Lets talk NEW coaches
This may be a bit premature.. I still don't think this season is lost. If we put it together RIGHT NOW there's still a chance.
Anyway, let's pretend TLR is let go. Who are your top choices for a replacement?
Personally, I'd like to see Jose Oquendo given the reigns. He's a great baseball mind but I don't see him being so "old school" like TLR. He seems like the type of guy that will actually smile every now and then and go crack a joke with a guy in the dugout.. not like the uptight dinosaur La Russa. Also, it would help in bringing in other Domincan players.
2nd choice would be Joe Girardi.
For the record, I am a TLR supporter and have always backed him when others didn't.

Wellemeyer on DL
Did anyone else notice this? Placed on the 15 day DL after an MRI revealed he has a sprained right elbow. Cavazos recalled from Memphis.
Another "phantom injury"?
I was looking forward to Welle in the bullpen role too. Figures... get one guy back, lose another.
Brendan Ryan sent down to make room for Eckstein, who should be in the starting lineup tonight.

Brendan Ryan - Future Cards SS or another Stubby Clapp/Bo Hart?
Alright to begin with I just want to say that I love this kid. He's a sparkplug... full of heart, energy, and passion for the game. He's had some pretty good success in his short time with the Cards as well.
The question is, should we have hope that this kid could be our future SS someday.. possibly as soon as next season... or is he another Stubby Clapp/Bo Hart who is riding on adrenaline and once his swing gets figured out, pitchers will start attacking his weaknesses?
This is the same guy who is pretty much an average to below average AAA hitter.
Thoughts?

Buehrle can be had NOW
I know a lot of you have said we should wait on Buehrle because we can probably get him this offseason. But if that's the case, why wait?
The Sox are desperately need two things: Hitting and relief help. The only thing they can spare is starting pitching. They would be willing to part with Buehrle because he is a FA at the end of the year.
With Percival possibly coming in, we could ship out Franklin and/or Looper over to the Sox for Buehrle.
That makes our rotation (when healthy):
Carp
Buehrle
Mulder
Wainwright
Reyes
Then we still have some good bullpen arms like TJ, Thompson, Wellemeyer, Izzy, Percival...
I don't know about you guys but that looks good to me.
