Michigan Enters Division-1
This is from Tim. He writes the terrific Great Lax State about Michigan lacrosse. You should read it.
After four years of dominance of the nation’s top club league (despite falling just short of an unprecedented four-peat), Michigan’s lacrosse program took the big leap over the summer, and will next take the field as an NCAA Division-1 team.
I can almost guarantee that this season will be filled with struggles for the Wolverines. Although their roster has experience, all of that has come at the club level. The competition this season will be bigger, faster, and better than everyone they saw last year. Although Arizona State ultimately proved to be too much of a challenge for the 2011 Wolverines, they don’t have the depth or talent of Delaware, Denver, or North Carolina.
Since most NCAA lacrosse fans likely haven’t seen the Wolverines play, here’s a few things to expect when they take the field:
Hello: Aaron Burbridge
(Bump for more info on one of the premier recruits in the 2012 class. Thanks for the info Tim, and have a great weekend all.)
Hey all, Tim Sullivan from mgoblog. I had a draft of a commitment post for Aaron Burbridge, and since the Spartans landed him, I thought you'd probably be interested. I hadn't updated it in a while, so some of the information may juuuuust a bit out of date. Apologies.

Hello: Michigan
Ed. Note: Rather than pussyfoot around trying to explain Michigan lacrosse, we may as well give the microphone to a guy that actually follows the Wolverines on a day-in and day-out basis.
Hey y'all, Tim Sullivan from Great Lax State here. The University of Michigan will be adding men's lacrosse for next spring. So, uh, who are they? What are they all about? Just some chill bros hopin' to toss some lax?
Michigan
I assume most people are familiar with the University of Michigan, what with the winningest college football team in history, The Victors, and all that. However, for those who aren't familiar with "The Harvard of the West," here's a quick primer:
University of Michigan
Ann Arbor, MI
Public, 26,000+ Undergraduates, 15,000+ postgrads
Founded in 1817
Famous Non-sports Alumni: President Gerald R. Ford, James Earl Jones, Stephen M. Ross (entrepreneur, chairman of Miami Dolphins), Larry Page (founder of Google), Ann Coulter, Ted Kaczynski (the Unabomber - WOO!!), Lucy Liu.
Key Rival Schools: Ohio State, Michigan State, Notre Dame (in that order, and if any other school claims they're a serious rival across multiple sports - I'm looking at you, Illinois and Penn State - they're kidding themselves).
Michigan to Add Varsity Lacrosse
Press conference tomorrow. It's a done deal, y'all.
Hello: Darian Cooper
Yo, Tim Sullivan from mgoblog here. I had a writeup on Darian Cooper ready to go in case he committed to Michigan, and didn't want to let it go to waste. Without further ado, the creepin':

Hello: Hakeem Flowers
Tim Sullivan from MGoBlog here. This site appears to be mostly basketball-oriented, but in case anyone cares about football recruiting, the Wolfpack got a commitment form SC WR Hakeem Flowers yesterday. Since he was also considering Michigan, I've got a bit written up on him (though it's incomplete since I had a feeling he wouldn't pick the Wolverines). Enjoy:

Kevin Sousa (New Demon Deacon QB Commit)
Hey there, Tim Sullivan from mgoblog here. Since your latest football recruit, Kevin Sousa, had previously been committed to Michigan, I thought you guys might be interested in the info I had on him (though it seems like you may be in basketball-only mode around here). Here's what I had on Kevin when he committed to Michigan (originally posted here):

Hello: Ed Davis
This is Tim Sullivan of MGoBlog. Ed Davis. He has committed to Michigan State instead of Michigan. This post is a little out of date, because it was clear for a while that he wasn't coming to ann Arbor, but it should still be informative. Everything was left as-is (except for removing the section about his impact on the remainder of Michigan recruiting class), so none of my evaluations are colored by the fact that he's headed for a rival.
