Cahill - Webb comparisons

I know there has been several infamous Trevor Cahill posts on this website in the past. Much controversy was stirred by the two sides -- the one that supported him and the one that called him the next "Tyler Clippard".

There was a lot of talk about Brandon Webb comparisons, but most shot those down as just "fan hype".

Cahill is now 12 starts into his major league career, so we have a pretty good grasp on the type of stuff he has.

Although he hasn't been great all season, Cahill's kept his ahead above water, and has been very solid of late.

The Orioles announcers scouting report on him last night said "Webb-like movement".

Another strong start tonight: 6.1 IP, 3 H, 0 ER, 2 BB, 5 K, 11 GB/ 3 FB

Keep an eye out for this kid. He is the same age as teammate Jesus Montero, but has probably been more impressive in his full-season debut. He has strong walk and strikeout rates, while having an outstanding ground-ball rate. He has a low- 90's sinking fastball and a curve with plus-potential. I like what I see.

Cahill vs. Rodriguez: The Great Debate

John posted this question before the season started.

http://www.minorleagueball.com/2008/4/3/389373/update-and-thursday-discus

After 3 starts for each of them, we have:

H. Rodriguez: 17 IP, 23/5 K/BB, 2.65 BB/9, 12.18 K/9, 1.55 GO/AO, .145 BAA, 1.59 ERA, 0.82 WHIP

T. Cahill: 18 IP, 21/2 K/BB, 1.00 BB/9, 10.50 K/9, 2.11 GO/AO, .155 BAA, 0.50 ERA, 0.61 WHIP

Both have pitched extremely well in the first 3 starts, and both have shown improved command. Considering this is the California league, a notorious hitter's park, I think they are both looking like excellent prospects right now. Cahill has shown impeccable control, as well as being a year younger than Rodriguez. Rodriguez' K and K/BB rates are absurd.

Looks like it's going to be a while before this debate is settled.

MLB the Show 08 - minor leaguers

I own MLB the Show 08 for PS2, and would like to edit the names of some minor leaguers to the real ones. Anyone know how I can do this? At the roster management screen I can only edit the 25 players on the 25 man roster, none of the other rosters. It would make the game expirience much better to have many of the real minor leaguers in the game. Any help is greatly appreciated.
Thanks, Sully.

Who do you guys think are some players that will win a job in ST and become solid players for a deep dynasty league? (leagues with around 800 taken players)

My candidates are Dan Ortmeier, Jayson Nix, Danny Richar, Aaron Laffey, Rick VandenHurk.

Anyone got some more that would fit into this catagorie?

He says Beltre doesn't deserved to be ranked because the tools are there but the performance wasnt. He OPSed .762 last year with 11 SB and 9 HR.

Now, Angel Villalona, who probably figures to be a a top 3 Giant in the ranking, OPSed .772, with 2 SB and 5 HR.

So how does Beltre not get ranked in the top TWENTY?
