What about Brayden Schenn?
Spector points out that he may be available because of Sean Coutourier's play and they need a large defenseman to replace Pronger. We have a log jam of defenseman so why not ship someone like Souray or Grossman plus a second round pick and something else ( mid level prospect or pick) for Schenn?

Stars old jerseys an voting
So I was pondering something: if the fanbase is strong enough to get Razor on Twitter, is it strong enough to at least influence the third jerseys direction?
What jersey would you like to see on the team? the mid 90s black and whites are my personal favorites, they were real hockey sweaters imo. anyways use this space to voice your opinion about your favorite jersey and the one with the most mention should get a facebook page so that the Stars organization can hear from the fans!
Devil's 4th overall pick, What would you offer?
They dont have a second rounder and are reportedly taking offers. Would this not be the perfect opportunity for Joe to make a splash and get that future center? If so, What should we offer? I was thinking our first this year, our second, and a good prospect. Maybe Reilly smith, or Tyler Beskowrany? They need a future goaltender in New Jersey and I dont know if Joe is willing to part with campbell, but if the offer is on the table to trade campbell and our 1st to get ther fourth overall pick, would you make the move?
Jersey three's part 2.
so
these are connected to the first series of three. classic classic classic. hope you guys like them. I kind of like the all green stripes, and i gave you guys a few versions of the black jersey, just differences on the stripes, and numbers. the green numbers are really cool, and if you can imagine the texas logo on the shoulders then there you have it. i think at the end of the week ill hold a vote on which jerseys you think should be our home and away, and our third (ill make an entire post of thirds). then we can have the fans idea of jerseys :) il need a little help from Art and Brandon to organize that if it's even possible.
Jersey Three's...An oldschool approach
These are more oldschool, the classic logo with the classic layout. Do you like the classic logo and the oldschool layout?
Jersey 2's
So I went a little crazy and did three versions of jersey style 2
Jersey one!
The first of my series is pretty bland, but they will (hopefully) get progressively more interesting.

So pretty plain, picture the Texas logo on the shoulders with all white numbers, and Ill work on the black version barring problems with the crest.
So in my series of X amount of Jerseys, I'd like everyone else to be honest in their critiques so that at the end of the week (next friday?) I can post something that is created by all of us :). I had to jump thru hoops to get this so dont mind the screen shot :)
Draft Day Dream Scenario (s)
Here's a few things that would be beneficial for the stars today...
The Ribeiro Situation:
Scenario 1: Very generally they trade Ribeiro for a prospect and picks before or as the draft unfolds, so that allows the team to re evaluate their draft needs. Being down a truly skilled center would neccesitate taking a center in the draft. So depending on the prospect, you could see Dallas take a center or a defenseman. More specifically watch the Columbus Blue Jackets who are said to be shopping their 4th overall pick in the draft and are in need of a number one center to play along side Nash. Think of how scary Nash and Ribs would be from a Blue Jacket stand point. If they were to move to number 4 (and its unlikely) they could take Gormley or Grudbranson, then with the eleventh take a center to take the place or Ribeiro down the line, Granlund possibly?
Why This Works: its ok to admit the dallas stars are in a transitional period, and with the team sale not truly having effect until next years FA period, we need to unload a bit of money to alleviate contract extension head aches of important players, IE Grossman, Neal, Later on Richards and possibly Wandell. Taking on low level salary now in the form of prospects, and resigning important players, all of a sudden you have a brighter future.
Scenario 2: Trade for a defenseman and picks. We get an NHL ready defenseman, and more draft picks. Depending on the defenseman, we could get a slightly less cap hit, and someone who could manage top four time. A top two defenseman is unlikely and would come at an even, or greater cost than Ribs.
Why This Works: We need a top four guy with offensive upside, DESPITE what Crawford says. Getting a NHL ready guy would take the guess work out of development, and give a little bit of insurance to our current situation. If this were to happen, the most likely guys are Kaberle in Toronto, and Ballard in Florida.
Downside: we dont get any top prospects or picks and we get more of a cap hit immediately.
Preference: In My opinion, Scenario one. Getting an additional pick in the first round would allow us more flexibility to draft a D Man and a center. We could get a prospect thats nearly NHL ready, and the cap hit would occur much further down the line.
What Say You?
Matt Mackenzie, Sleeper? Comments?
Check this guy out. Could be available to us in the third, looks pretty solid all the way around, number 73 on TSN's list. Played defense for Calgary in the WHL last year recording 6 goals and 40 points in 64 games. He's 6'1 191 lbs. ISS ranks him 33, THN at 55, NHLCS at 74. So he's all over the board but looking good from my limited research. I'll look more into this today.
Our top Five Draft Day Wish List. Rd 1 & 2
Ok I thought it would be cool if the fans ( and maybe the editors ) got together and gave a list of each of their top five prospects for round one & round two that could REALISTICALLY be had. In order from 1 being the best, maybe even a slight stretch for a falling prospect, and 5 being totally settling and just satisfied.
My top five from both rounds after the jump!
A more realistic trade scenario
So as stars fans we know of two immediate needs: a TOP defenseman, and a couple of good right handed wingers. So when the hypothetical trade for Kovalchuk arose, I began to wonder what a realistic trade scenario/partner would be for the stars to acquire a right handed shot. Why do we need the right handed shot? It creates balance in the offense so a forward can play his natural wing, and the ever lethal one timer can be setup. Now the 2 right handed guys that have caught my eye this year are Kris Versteeg of the Chicago Blackhawks, and Nikita Filatov, a TOP TOP TOP END prospect for the Columbus Blue Jackets.
