Glavine Released
According to Ken Rosenthal, Glavine has been released. Wow. This might be the right baseball move, but I don't like it. It's just not the right way for his Braves career to end. Does this mean we'll see Hanson soon? Or does Medlen stay in the rotation? I'm surprised this is how this went down. Odd ends for Smoltz and Glavine...

Schafer Sent Down
According to a comment in Carrol Roger's blog at the Atlanta Journal Constitution, Jordan Schafer has been sent down (presumably to Gwinnett) to work on his swing. Gregor Blanco has been called up to replace him and is in the lineup tonight. As much as it makes sense, I'm a little surprised the Braves actually did it. I suppose it helps that Blanco finally started hitting over the last couple weeks. So how long do you think he stays down? Will he come back soon and have an impact?

Medlen gets the call
Carroll Rogers of the AJC has the scoop from Bobby Cox. Kris Medlen will be making his major league debut on Tuesday against the Rockies. He's starting for JoJo Reyes who is being sent to the bullpen (hm). No corresponding roster move known yet. I'm surprised it's not Morton, but also very excited!
