Behind the Steel Curtain Heinz Field and Hines Ward showcased in latest Dark Knight Rises Trailer!

Link is going to be below the jump.

I don't know if I have been this excited for a movie since Jurassic Park when I was 8. The new trailer shows off a good few seconds of Heinz Field, and Hines ends up being a big part of the most awesome scene in the trailer.

Behind the Steel Curtain Put it up on the Game Board.

Apparently one more day is to much for the Jets to keep their mouths shut.

We are gonna win,” guard Matt Slauson told Steve Serby of the New York Post Saturday morning as the team began boarding buses for the airport.  “I believe we are a better team.”

I know the loss is hard, but he is borderline exploiting it at this point.

Behind the Steel Curtain What did you get for Christmas?

One of my favorite things to do as a kid was share what me and my friends got for Christmas. So come, let us show off the fabulous wares we have all received from the jolly home invader, Santa Claus. I'm sure many of you got some awesome Steelers or Penguins gear that is rare/exciting. Maybe even some Pirates gear, but that's probably not rare or exciting in any way.

Merry Christmas everyone, I hope it was fantastic.

Behind the Steel Curtain Steeler players sing X-Mas songs!

James Harrison is making a list....

Whoever said this should be a fanpost was right, we need everyone to see it and no one but a few people read the fanshots. So here it is, the Pittsburgh Steelers singing all your favorite Christmas songs!

And James Harrison being fricking scary.

Now this is a story all about how this fanpost won't work unless i get it to 75 words. And I'd like to take a second but I think this is enough.

Behind the Steel Curtain Aaron Smith cleared to lift weights.

pittsburghlive.com

"He's doing pretty good," Tomlin said. "We're going to take another MRI in about two weeks or so and see where that takes us, but we're encouraged by his progress. There's no setbacks in his recovery. It's time to take the next step and now start tossing a few weights around, which is good news."

This is fantastic news Coach, but I know you're not a man to over-emote. Not much more you can add to this story. We all know how big Smith is to the D line, and with Kiesel coming back and being in good condition recently we could make a serious run come playoff time.

This article has some great Tomlin quotes as well, so I would definitely recommend the read. On keeping Smith off of IR:

"That's been our intentions all along," Tomlin said. "This is not charity by any stretch. We're not in that business. We're in the business of winning football games. We thought it was a possibility that this man could make it back and help us. He's doing what he's supposed to do; we're doing what we're supposed to do, which is win. Hopefully, the two things converge and meet."

It's been a good week to be a Steeler fan. Let's hope it gets much better 3-4 weeks.

Funny quote from Bellicheat.

"I think they all have meaning; it’s just the priority of the stats," Belichick said. "Wins is number one. Points is number two, because that correlates to winning."

Behind the Steel Curtain League admits 2 blown calls against Steelers in Bengals game!

Blown calls. (Note, from PFT, so take with a grain of salt. I'll be much more willing to believe it when ESPN or someone reports it. Either way, still interesting.)

Amazing! It appears the Steelers check FINALLY cleared with the refs, and they have come out and admitted that they gave Cincy a free TD against us, thereby actually making a game of the ordeal. IMO, they should take a TD away from the overall score. Why? Because they got the thing on a drive based entirely on blown calls. It's the principle of the matter.

Discuss.

Edit: Poll is broken by my horrible grammar. The second option should read "The Hampton roughing call was legit, but the Ike PI was bogus."

Poll
Were one, or both, calls legitimate?

Both calls were legit.

Neither was legit, but score should remain the same.

Neither was legit and Benson should have a TD removed from his overall total, and the final score should be changed to 27-14 Pitt.

Behind the Steel Curtain Off topic: Chilean Mine Rescue

Slide_11796_155513_large_medium

The story of what happened.

Watch the rescue live.

Just an inspiring story. I'm not sure how many of you have been following this since it was discovered the miners were still alive down there, but through this ordeal these 33 men have displayed courage and perseverance like I never knew existed. Since Aug. 3 they have been trapped a half mile under the ground, and now (as of the posting) there are only 16 left, with the rescue effort going ahead of schedule and running more smoothly then anyone would have dreamed to hope. This is one of those things that unites people no matter what the differences, and I just wanted to post something to maybe brighten everyone's day with a really great story.

Now, who wants to take bets that by the time this is all over there will be a Terrible Towel on camera SOMEWHERE at this rescue...

Interesting story about the upcoming lockout. With how things are proceeding, we won't see any real football in 2011 :(

I honestly expected Philly to jump to the top, with how hard everyone is riding Vick's jockstrap lately, but I can't think of any other position for us to be in.

Here's hoping we live up to expectations the rest of the way.

Bucs Nation Ask a Steeler fan.

Continuing in this great tradition on the SBNation sites, I humbly present myself before you to answer any questions you have about my beloved Steelers. As I type this I am currently at school, so if my responses for today are a bit slow, I'm sure some of my friends from BTSC (many of whom are far more knowledgeable in terms of statistics then I could ever be) will take over, I'm sure a few of them are browsing through here right now. I'm incredibly bored so I'll probably just keep hitting refresh on my phone for the next 4-5 hours.

So let's get some questions going. Big game for Tampa Bay, a much improved squad is ready to test it's meddle against one of the NFL's elite teams, and the Steelers are looking to prove they can actually win a game when they are the clear favorite, after last year's debacle(s) with Oakland and KC and the Browns.

Behind the Steel Curtain Our new rallying cry, "It Doesn't Matter."

Everywhere I look today I see the same thing. Normally a team losing all but one of it's starting QB's would be a BIG story, but the overall response to who will start in Tampa Bay has been a resounding, "It doesn't matter with the defense playing like this."

I can't say enough about the last two games. Tennessee is a damn good offense. Atlanta just LIT UP Arizona for over 40+ points. They had 9 and no TD's against us last week. Chris Johnson put up 200 yards last week. Today? 34. I would not be surprised if next week he has 200 again and the Titans score 30+.

Next week is Tampa Bay. The Buccaneers are not a good football team (no hate TB fans, just truth.) so I am really looking forward to seeing what our defense can do against inferior offenses. We might not even need an offense next week. We could just petition Tomlin to let 11 of us on BTSC play offense for a game. If the D can put up 7 forced fumbles, 4 of which we recovered, and 3 ints against a pretty good Tennessee offense, they should be on track to score about 28 against Tampa next week.

So when your friends start to ask what the Steelers are going to do about their QB all this week just let them know. It doesn't matter.

Behind the Steel Curtain It’s okay for football fans to cheer. But not so loudly

I saw this on Deadspin.

"[T]here was a bitter taste left by the unsportsmanlike conduct of the Winnipeg fans. When Saskatchewan had the ball on offence, the Winnipeg fans, encouraged by some of the players, set up such a wall of noise that the players couldn't hear the quarterback's signals. That's cheating, isn't it?"

Behind the Steel Curtain Big Ben must be licking his chops watching this game....

I would be if I was him. Dixon looked pretty good out there today, don't get me wrong, this is not meant to be a critique of Dixon's play tonight. BUT, there were more then a couple botched throws, and as interception happy as Ben can be I don't see that pick happening if he is out there. If I am Ben what I see is a much better then anticipated offensive line (based on the pre-season) and a return to form on the defense. I see Randle El getting open even when Dixon goes elsewhere, or doesn't avoid the sack, one Ben might have snaked out of. I also see a running game that can finally handle it's own and not put all the pressure on me. I would be pumped after this game ended and lifted some weights and tossed a ball through a tire swing. You know, stuff quarterbacks do when they get hyped.

If Ben was in today I think we would have lit the Falcons up. This is all speculation, of course, but as decently as Dixon played, Ben would have taken advantage of the opportunities the offense provided for him. I'm really, really looking forward to our game against the Browns.

Behind the Steel Curtain Isaac Redman is...The Most Interesting Running Back in the World.

Bumped. Why not start Monday with a chuckle? Just one more example of why you all constitute the best community on the internet. -Michael-

*******

Referees have been known to flag him just to keep the game fair.

Coaches from opposing teams have asked him for help with their gameplans. In the middle of a game.

He once got tackled one yard short of the goal line, just to see how disappointment felt.
