Points in the paint?

One stat that I always have a hard time finding is points in the paint. Seems like commentators have access to it because they mention it from time to time. I'm asking because I'm curious on where Aldridge ranks this year. If anyone knows where to find it, I'd be grateful. Oh yeah, BEAT LA

ALL NBA unathletic team

Here is a fun game. Make a five player list for each of the 4 subjects: 1. All NBA unathletic team 2. One dimensional players that only do one or two things at a NBA level. 3. NBA players most likely to be confused for guys playing in a YMCA pickup game. 4. NBA players that wouldn't crack a 10 man rotation of a contending team. Turns out one list can be used for all of them... Steve Blake, Jason Kapono, Luke Walton, Josh Mcroberts and Troy Murphy. Other wise known as the laker bench. haha. How amazing is that.

2K11 had some huge improvements for post up moves. Aldridge was a unstoppable on the block if you knew how to use him. This year it looks like 2k has stepped their game up. and it looks like they put LA's shoulder drive hook shot. Can't wait to go into beast mode with Aldridge on the fourth

Nothing really stands out here but it's a better then listening to the game trying to crucify Kelly.

Interesting stuff here about who feasts on bad defenses and disappears against better ones. Aldridge doesn't make top 20 in performing against bad teams, which you can read a couple different ways. the way I see it is when aldridge knows that his teammates get off he's willing to let them and he focuses on other parts of the game. I've never thought of him as a stat stuffer and I think this shows it, but when he knows he has to get it done he's willing and able. Great guy to have as your tent pole

Wouldn't be a bad option for backup center. He had a great first round against the Lakers

I know most fanposts and fanshots have been dedicated to why the blazers have no chance and everyone on the team sucks but here is a great story about one of the reasons we'll win this series. This guy is one of the toughest guys in the nba

I have to say the Dallas writers are the biggest whiners. I understand maverick fans complaining but journalists are supposed to be the cool head in these situations

They play two playoff teams to end the season, us and denver. This playoff race is getting crazy. Lakers could end up fourth very easily

The Dream Shake Sad to see you guys not in the playoffs, from a Blazer fan

From one fan to others, I'm sad that you won't be playing in the post season this year. Y'all fought like hell after the break this year and it's a shame garbage teams from the east get to play after next week and you guys don't. Rockets have always been one of my favorite non blazer teams since you gave Drexler a ring and I always like Adelman teams. Two years ago I was looking forward to years of Roy/Aldridge/Oden vs Yao/tmac/artest playoff series but the gods of basketball screwed us both over. I really like alot of your players, especially Kyle Lowry. He reminds me of a young Dre with a better jump shot. From an outside it looks like you have a ton of good players but none that are really great. Kmart doesn't get the national credit he deserves, but his defense is as bad as much as his scoring is great(not trying to piss you off with that statement). What's nice is y'all aren't really tied up with bad contracts and I was wondering what the future game plan is for the rockets. Are you going to make a package to get a star or make a youth movement. Good luck this offseason and I'm sure I'll see you playing in late april next year. In the meantime we'll punk dallas and the lake show for you for you this year, like Wallace did to both last week.

I see a good shot of him making an all nba team

Anyone else notice that ever since the g force trade, we've been getting more east coast love then ever?

I don't really feel bad for jazz nation. I used to work a lot in utah and all the jazz fans talked alot of trash during the jail blazer days and the oden injury. I do feel for big al; got traded from a bad celtics team to a bad wolves team. Finally got on a good team that suddenly went to the toilet

Rob Mahoney of the New York Times Off The Dribble Blog looks at Portland Trail Blazers forward Gerald Wallace...
------------------------------
A change of scenery has made all the difference. The deadline deal that sent Wallace from the water-treading Bobcats to a legitimate playoff club has seemingly re-energized him, as he has been spectacularly productive and efficient as a Portland Trail Blazer. But Wallace’s stylistic return to form has been just as palpable.

Sunday’s game provides a convenient example. Although he picked up just a single steal and block in 45 minutes, he attacked Kevin Durant on defense. Wallace held one of the league’s most productive scorers to 5-of-18 shooting and almost single-handedly prevented him from making a field goal in the game’s final 28 minutes. When at his best, Wallace’s defense is its own offense. It’s not merely smothering or limiting, but a pointed assault on a given target. Wallace locked in and destroyed Sunday, even if his team was narrowly defeated.

Nice to see our MVP getting mentioned in the race. As tried as mvp chants have become, he deserves one

Says it is from today but sounds dated when you read it. If this is old, let me know and I'll take it down.

I agree with their assessment that Love is a good player but lacks the height and athleticism to create his own shot. I would take him as our third best player, unfortunately he'll end up getting paid like a cornerstone. But imagine him and aldridge as a front court combo. Love could play off aldridge and get a lot of open three's and do the garbage duties. LA could focus on running on breaks. Both would be listed at forward, since I don't think LA would ever be listed as center, as long as he's a blazer.

I'm sure everybody has seen this but I want to see want every body thinks about. First off, K love his working his butt off this season and deserves all the love (yes I just did that) he is getting. But when you break it down, putting him in the All star game would be the straw that turned the Nba into the mlb. I would like to think that winning still meant something in the NBA. I think the coaches will do the right thing by putting Aldridge in the all star game. I have league pass and I hate to say I agree with Quick, but I like the point he made that when you watch the timber coyotes play you don't think Love is making an impact, but then you look at his stats and it turns out he was "beasting." When you play the Blazers, coaches have to try and come up with game plans to slow aldridge, be it double on the touch or rotate fresh bodies on him and make him be creative. Here is how you game plan for Love, box out and crash the glass, watch Beasley chuck the up shoots, maybe the introduce the Beas to Rashed's local hook up before the game. Anyway's what do y'all think.

Btw if you want a good laugh read the comment by the wolves fan on you tube claiming the coyotes would be cavs bad without Love. They cherish those two wins up in the north woods

I don't know about you, but I'm getting tired of the national media not seeing the big picture. All I have been reading about lately is how Aldridge is becoming a franchise player and one of the best big men in the league. Mark Jackson had the nerve to say he should be a allstar, even if Melo is still out west. Don't they know that the blazers only hope is to trade him for young players and draft picks. Espn needs to get an oregonian subscription and the 955 app for thier Iphone or android device so they can start to understand how championship teams are run. I guess some people can't see how Lamarcus Aldridge is ruining the blazers.

Signed a caller that makes it trough John Strong's screening

Liking his chances. I don't think utah is good enough to get two all stars this year, add the fact that Aldridge is putting up better numbers then both Big Al and Milsap. Don't forget that he has averaged 26 against Utah this year and put 26 7 2 blocks over their combined 22 12 3 blocks last time they played.
With Griffin, just like what the link says, and k love should ask warriors Baron Davis, wolves Al Jefferson and blazers Zbo how hard it is to get the nod when your team is pacing a wins record in the 20s.
I love watching the l train unleashed and that 19 10 is now consider a bad night for him. I've been trying to see where he ranks in points in the paint, but can't find it anywhere. Any one want to help me out?

Does anyone know where to listen to the Aldridge Jim Rome interview from today

over 1 year ago Joel_tiny svlittle 8 comments

Question for the salary experts: Now that we know that we are going have to have better production from that fourth center, can the blazers buy out sean marks and sign dampier? Not saying they should for sure do it or that it has to be eric, just wondering if it is an option.

I think it is time for nate to let miller run. Don't forget he is one of the best fast break point guards in the league and he has more track stars on this team then he has ever had. Aldridge, batum, rudy and wesley would all be alot more effective in the open court
