Bulger and Holt on I-70 headed west?

According to NFL network Scott Linehan is looking to trade or release Torry Holt, and Bulger refuses to play for him. I know they are aging. But both would be great additions and would help develop these young guys we have now. If the price wasn't too steep it would atleast be worth a sniff. What do you think? What would it take? How much would it help, if at all. Or do you think it would hurt?

Proof to me that Kelly Croyle has bigger cojones than Brodie.

I myself have a shoulder subplexus? Sorry, can't exactly remember how it's pronounced. Anyway, the shoulder comes out constantly. It hurts... Boo hoo. I have to take my ass to work construction everyday, ten years now. I got it racing motocross. Separation after separation, BUT I always finished the races. So.... Why is puny little Brodie wimping around on the side line? He is a puss. Check out this article from PFT.

ROETHLISBERGER HAD SEPARATED SHOULDER

The Steelers disclosed this week that quarterback Ben Roethlisberger suffered a shoulder injury during the Week One romp over the Texans.

But the Steelers didn’t mention that Roethlisberger separated the shoulder.

Al Michaels of NBC mentioned the severity of the injury during the opening moments of NBC’s coverage of the game.

Roethlisberger, listed as probable in Friday’s injury report, will play on a windy night in Cleveland. Thanks to the remnants of Ike, the breeze could gust up to 60 miles per hour later in the game.

Andrea Kremer of NBC reports that offensive coordinator Bruce Arians hasn’t altered his game plan as a result of Roethlisberger’s shoulder or Ike’s fading rage. In fact, they plan to throw deep when the wind is at their backs.

Why is Brodie out? Seems like if Big Ben can do it for his millions, and I can do it for mere peanuts. His punk ass could go out there and stink it up like he always does. Seems to me, it's just his excuse not to go out and get embarrassed with the rest of the team, Way to go.

I for one am not a Herm basher, infact I am a Herm enthusiast. However, with new "experienced" play caller Chan Gailey at the helm. I could not help but notice discusting similarities to the Solari offense. How many times do you really have to run up the gut for no gain to try something different? How many times do you have to get stuffed on 1st down trying to run Larry into a wall before you change your approach! This leads me to one conclusion. Unless Herm has no influence on the offense, this is what we will see until he is run out of town. Much like our last sacrificial lamb Mike Solari.

Take action and get Jackson!!!

While Chad Jackson is still unproven, and recently cut from the Pats. I think he would be an excellent addition to our thin wide reciever corps. Just because he was cut from the Pats doesn't nessecarily mean he is a bad receiver. Players come and go from the Pats for many reasons, buried behind talent, Belechick's charm, and many more. The only concern that I would have is whom would be getting the axe. We've already cut Tyron Brackenridge, a player who I was quite fond of. I would sure hate to lose Dantrell Savage. I assume he would be next. Considering they've kept B.J. Sams around for some reason.

I have been severely behind with my posts as of late. But I couldn't help myself today. I was getting ready to check up on my fantasy teams and when I saw yahoo headlines saying that the Panthers should and may be considering trading star wideout Steve Smith. I thought to myself.... "I know this would never happen, but what if it did?" Could you imagine Bowe to the right, Smith to the left? What do you do about Tony and Larry? I know that it's just wishful thinking. But could you imagine? Even with the lack of experience elsewhere I couldn't see too many teams that are on our schedule that could compete. Save the Pats. What do you think? Would he be worth a draft pick or two? 1st or 2nd rounder?

In response to our rant about the possibility that PSLs will squeeze out of the stadium the blue-collar fans who helped make the game what it is, a fan of the Chiefs has pointed out to us some other evidence of a fundamental change in the manner in which folks are now expected to watch live football.

In a “Chiefs Fan Code of Conduct,” folks attending home games are told that Arrowhead Stadium staff will “proactively intervene” to prevent behaviors such as . . . drum roll, please . . . standing.

We’ve been to enough football games to know that it can be a pain in the arse when the guys in front of you decide to stand up, if for example the road team is facing third down and seven in the fourth quarter of a tie game. But that’s football. The easy answer? Stand up, too. And if you don’t like all of the sitting and standing, then don’t go to a football game (or to a Catholic church — rim shot).

The Chiefs also have set up a text-messaging system that allows fans who might be offended by behaviors like standing to report the situation to the powers-that-be. It provides the non-confrontational types who might be offended by sitting a way to tattle while still maintaining plausible deniability.

We don’t mean to pick on the Chiefs here. For all we know, every other team prohibits standing as well. (We welcome PFT Planet to post links in the comments to any other no-standing policies from other venues.)

And maybe, down the road, it’s just another way to raise money. Fans will be able to stand.

Thanks for everyone joining! We have finally gone to the live draft, and have 20 teams. Good luck to everyone that has joined. Also still havent figured out what to play for. Money, BBQ, shaved heads, I don't care. Come up with some ideas and we can vote or something.

CHRIS: Are you going to have an ARROWHEADPRIDE league again this year? If so, I would be glad to join to up. I know several that would also like to join as well.

Are the Bump and Run-away defense and Run, Run, Run, Punt offense over?

The days of the Bump and Run-away defense are hopefully a thing of the past. We may have lost Jared Allen but when you think about if... We won 4 games with him, so apparently he wasn't nearly as important to the team as everyone really thought. Especially with Dorsey now manning the middle. If the "Tank" gets fired up also, I might even be able to get a sack or two.

But here is where it really gets exciting... The cover 2 defense doesn't require you to have a "shut down" corner. All you need is decent corners because you are (hopefully) able to drop 7 players into coverage. With safties roaming over the top to help everyone, the corners job is considerably easier. Well guess what? We now have the makings of our very own "shut down" corner(s) in rookies Brandon Flowers and Carr. It has been said that the Chiefs have already been able to implement a lot more man coverage into the defense. With Surtain possibly being the 3rd/nickel back that says a lot for these kids The Bump and Run-away defense seems to have left the building along with it's creator... Ty Law

As for the run, run, run no let's pass... nah let's run, and punt offense... The jury is still out on that. We seem to have a franchise LT in Brandon Albert, and that's never a bad thing to have when you are rebuilding an offense. We still have Brian Waters manning the LG position too so the left side (blind side) seems to be safe. Center worries me along with the RG position. Atleast the RT will likely be manned by Damien McIntosh. A solid veteran who when healthy did a good job at LT so I think he can handle the right side just fine. I think the center and right guard positions will end up with the right guys for the job... So I guess I am going to put my money on atleast an average or maybe a little above average O-line. One more year and I will say an excellent line.

This leads me to the skill positions. QB is a toss up, even with the Willie's (Roaf and Shields) in their prime I would still be scared to trot Brodie on to the field as my starter. Hopefully I will be firing up my grill and smoking some crow this fall. I would love nothing more than to eat a big plate full as Brodie leads the Chiefs to the play offs and beyond.

L.J. on the other hand, I have been highly critical of L.J. since the hold out. I think he will return to form this year. With the line shaping up and having good back ups in Kolby Smith and Jamaal Charles this year he stands an excellent chance of being great once again. Charles will be the perfect compliment to L.J's style too.Not to mention the fact that they will feature a true full back again with Mike Cox.

The receiver position has always been a question in the past. But I don't think that will be a problem any more. You have the pillar of the recieving corps in Tony Gonzalez. Yeah he is nearing the end, but you still have to respect him anytime he touches the field. The emergence of our finally true number 1 reciever in D-Bowe will only help everyone. But the rookie Will Franklin is what really has me hopping right now. I have a bias opinion because as a MIZZOU fan I have grown to love watching him play over the years. But I am telling you, if he can slow the game down and play it on his terms he will be as good of a number 2 as you can find. Not only is he big, he is a burner. Oh, and slowing the game down may not be too much trouble for him. His former teammate is the equivalent to colleges' Peyton Manning. So he is used to complex offenses. With Jeff Webb and Devard Darling in the mix also there shouldn't be a shortage of targets for Brodie... as long as he remembers what color jersey they wear though...

Everything seems to be shaping up nicely on the offensive side of the ball. And since Herm and the Chiefs finally divorced from Mike Solari the offensivelly offensive play calling should also be a thing of the past. Chan Gailey was probably the best offensive aquisition this year... Aside from Albert of course. I will definitly say that this offense will be far better than the last two. The greatest show on turf won't open up in KC but we will definily be able to score the football again, So I will promise the run, run, run no let's pass... nah run, and punt offense will be no more.

Be ready... This may not be a super bowl year for the Chiefs. But I promise you, You will be impressed, you will see improvement, you may see the play offs, but most importantly... Your hope... WILL BE RESTORED!
