Richard Hamilton offended by the way coach John Kuester reached out

27

Kuester's attempt to reach out to him consisted of Jerry Hendon, the team's security head, coming to him a minute before the team was meeting to go over strategy for Saturday's game with Phoenix to tell him Kuester wanted to talk to him. "I felt offended that he sent Jerry instead of coming himself or sending an assistant coach," Hamilton said. "I could tell Jerry was uncomfortable and I said no." Read more: Pistons' Richard Hamilton offended by the way coach John Kuester reached out | freep.com | Detroit Free Press Hamilton went on to say: "I'm Richard Hamilton, so obviously any attempts to reach out to me should first include a handwritten letter on gold leaf, delivered by hand with a fresh bottle of Cambodian Breast Milk, along with a bowl of Red M&M's (and only Red M&M), a treasure chest of Golden Doubloon's, and no less than 32 Virgins. Jerry was obviously uncomfortable because even he knew what is required for a coach to properly reach out to his greatest player." Hamilton seemed visibly agitated at retelling the story. He slammed the door as he stepped into his Rip City™ carriage. Also, as he was hoisted away by his team of horses, he refused to be hand-fed grapes or pomegranate seeds by his servants which is his post-pre-game-meeting tradition.

Joe D's last chance, UPDATE: Joe D full of crap

This seems to me the last chance for Joe D.  I feel like I will be a big fan for a long time, but if he doesn't do anything right now, he's basically asking the next owner to fire him.  I'm ready...

Middle East-based groups in talks to buy Pistons

16

I really didn't need to read this. I'm hoping that the amount of sin in sin city would prevent a potential Middle East owner from moving the franchise to Vegas. Let's just consider this posturing on the Davidson PR side to squeeze Illitch for more.

Team Division and the New Piston Culture

Behind all the drama and controversy in Detroit's locker room, there are some players keeping their mouths shut, letting their game speak for themselves.

"I'd like to be a part of the Detroit community in some way,..."Gores said. "That's what I've done my whole life. When I talk to my kids, I talk about doing the right things. I'll make families better, I'll make communities better"

From The Detroit News: Tom Gores attends Pistons game, says he's still interested in owning team. As Illitch's exclusive negotiation period ends, Gores comes out making public ovationsovertures. On an unrelated note, Didn't Mr. D not like Ilitch? If he wanted Mike to own the team I imagine it would have happened already. What if Karen Davidson is trying to hold off the aggressive advances of Illitch while hoping someone to sell to someone that isn't going to move it Seattle.

Are These Pistons An Experiment in 'Positionality'

With this new Pistons season, there are a number of things to be frustrated about (I'm upset about the Moose's minutes, personally), but there is perhaps no thing more frustrated than a lack of an...

Tracy Mc Grady and his tired Legs

8

Rockets blogger delivers scathing review of Tracy McGrady and his inability to deliver on promises. "Joe [Dumars] has been trying to get me for years." "Yes, you heard that right. "Joe has been trying to get me for years." Tracy, the "you" Dumars was trying to get was the one that could actually elevate more than three inches off the ground, the "you" that was only moderately delusional as opposed to this iteration that is awash in full on myopia."

I will set the injuries aside just for a second and say we didn’t get it done like we are accustomed to, so there’s nothing in stone here that says you can’t go out and get a guy who can potentially be an impact guy for you. We were 27 and 55. Now, if we were 55 and 27, then I would be willing to listen to that. But until we get back to what we’ve been accustomed to over this decade, I’m going to try to add as many impact guys as we can and I don’t really give a damn if it’s overloaded or not. - Joe Dumars Q&A - September 17, 2010

NBA.com Gives Pistons C- Grade for Summer

79

Wow, national media taking dumps on the pistons. More of the same here, if you want some quotes: A perimeter-oriented team didn't do much to help itself up front. But draftee Greg Monroe looked good to the experts this summer, so that's something. And it's not like he'll get lost in the depth up front for the Pistons. Kuester has a tough job, making believers not only of the fans but of the fellows on this roster. Detroit is three drafts and offseasons away from being taken seriously. If it gets there. and my favorite: Things are worse in Pistons land than people wanted to let on. The franchise that was supposed to be kept in the Davidson family went on the shopping block, and the B- or C-level signings of Ben Gordon and Charlie Villanueva before the 2009-10 season took the Pistons out of this summer's shopping spree.

Charlie is looking a little more chisled

Perhaps its the end of the days where the only definition in his arms was his elbow. All jokes aside, it looks like hard work is paying off, and perhaps we will have a season worth talking about. Hopefully we won't see it all go to waste as he sprains his foot while filming "Pool Domination: Big East Alumni Addition." This is because I'm imagining our technologically savvy former husky is trying to compete with these guys.

Lebron's Mental Notes

Hilarious thread going on twitter. Search #bronsmentalnotes, reflect on his douche-hood. My favorite from the originator of this thing, mdotbrown: "Find out if Inception will work on Kobe, Register with University of Phoenix, Buy a dog, Teach it to Dougie" #bronsmentalnotes True Hoop article with a little backstory

Here is a list of the NBA's young bigs. Who would you trade for?

14

On basketball-reference.com I made a list of all the players who were over 6-9, under 29, and averaged 8 rebounds and 1 block per 36 minutes who played more than 12 minutes last year and don't foul out every game. This list is short, there are only 38 people, and you can probably cut that in half if you take off the people who are too expensive, injured, or named Yi Jianlan. Either way it seems like a good jump off point to hear trade scenarios. Click here to play around and make your own lists
