any word on why Betances hasnt been pitching? any one know when he will pitch? i cannot seem to find any information on him, i know he has a live arm and had a brilliant debut last year. is he injured or just waiting for short season leagues to begin? i would appreciate any information you guys have.

okay, since its valentines day i think it is time for everyone to fess up to which player they have a man crush on. everyone has that favorite player that they always draft or think is better than they actually are without much reason. so i will start you off with mine, for a long time it was darren driefort, drafted the guy every year thinking he would be the second coming of roger clemens.

i am interested in hearing the readers opinions on adrian beltre and juan uribe. scouts raved about these players tools when they were coming up through the minors. they both made it to the majors fairly fast and then never really lived up to potential. that is until 2004. when beltre hit .334 .388 .629 1.017 and uribe hit .283 .327 .506 .833. will these guys be the 04 for players or the players they were in 05 and the years leading up to 04. both players are 26 as of now so they are both entering what should be their primes. i dont know what to expect from these players, does anyone?

every year there seems to be a pitcher that comes from mediocrity to have a cy young caliber year. like jon garland last yr, loaiza two years before that and etc. who do you think will be this years pitcher?
my personal choice is brett tomko, has the stuff and coming to a great enviornment for pitchers.
of course there is no real reasoning behind this, thats why the pitcher comes out of nowhere so there is no bad choices, i.e. no calling anyones choice lame.
so whos your choice?

has anyone seen clint everts pitch this year? its seems like he has come back from tommy john surgery really fast. didnt he have surgery last september? i wonder if his fastball has come all the way back.  Also has his sharp breaking ball and good changeup comeback?  He is still young and pitched pretty well all last yr with a torn ligament, i wonder if he is back on his way to being a top prospect.

dodgers are said to be hot after adam dunn.  They could use a power bat desperately with milton bradley out. with all the minor league talent the dodgers have this could be interesting. reds seem to need pitching prospects and the dodgers have a ton of them. just wondering which players would be most likely to be included in a trade?

i went to watch my buddy drew macias play last night and it happened to be jered weavers first game.  he gave up 1 run (driven in by drew) in 3 innings. weaver was throwing 87-92 with good life. also throwing a hard slider and a slow curve. his command was very shaky which can be expected seeing as it was his first pro outing.  some other things i noticed: howie kendrick has unbelievable quick wrist and if hes not an all star second baseman someday id be shocked.   brandon wood is amazingly strong for someone his size, will be scary when he fills out.  george kottaras is a hard nosed ball player with a very short compact swing.
